Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

New to the forum after lurking for a while and already got lots of great info from it. I'm about to hit 40, been married to my brilliant OH for 18 months (he's 38) neither of us have any offspring and I've just finished treatment for breast cancer (diagnosed 2 years ago.) Having a breast reconstruction next month and then hoping against age and medical history that we can start TTC. Current plan of action involves a Clear Blue fertility monitor to try and get a handle on my cycle as my periods only returned in May. Then I guess it's down the medical route if things don't happen naturally. Not sure what to expect if fertility treatment is necessary - I know not all Trusts are open to treating women of a certain age  but that's something I'll have to look into.
Looking forward to sharing experiences and making chums along the way...and best of luck to y'all too!

Hi,
I'm 38, turning 39 in a month. Ttc for the last 6 month (4 with all the tools). I have a hight TSH for pregnancy according to 2 doctors, and 3 say it is okay (one of them a fertility specialist).

Will see what happen this month. I want to learn what steps should I take and what to do before going into IUI

Thanks you!

Hi there,

I'm 35, TTC for 4 months after more years than I care to remember on the pill. Married for 11 years decided it was about time to see if Nature was on our side. My sisters both got pregnant at the drop of a hat, so hopefully it runs in the genes. Nice thought if it worked that way huh?

Thanks for all your words of wisdom, so so helpful.

:hugs:Hello TTC over 35! I am 45 and my dh, 56, would like to try for our 5th child. I'm focusing on my health to start, so I would like to lose this extra 30 pounds I have on my body and eat a healthier diet to give myself a better chance. I won't start ttc until this happens. Does anyone here have any suggestions on some natural supplements I can take to get into my system that may prepare me, physically, and possibly help me have a better chance at conceiving at my age?

Hello to all new and old friends, I am 36 and have 10 y/o DD. TTC for over a year now and hoping for the best. 16DPO and no sign of AF or BFP (FRER). Really lost right now.

Hi gals. I just read the posts on this site and you are all so great!

I am gonna be 39 on thursday. My fiance who previously said he wants a family is now saying it would be too hard to have a child and that it would ruin our relationship. This is obviously causing a lot of stress.

Why are they just allowed to change the whole life plan??
