Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi all! Not sure if I am using the forum "reply" feature correctly, as I am a newbie!

Just wanted to say this forum seems invaluable regarding finding support for thoseTTC at 35+. In my experience, very few people really understand what it is like to TTC at this age, I find (most of my friends had kids when they were in their 20's, so it was easy for them).

A bit about me quickly, because I am not sure how to put the info on my profile - I just turned 38 (ack) and my S.O. is 39. We are TTC for #1 (for two months now). I am in decent health, as is my guy, and I have very regular cycles etc. No history of any gyno problems, either. So I am hopeful based on that, but my age is still worrying me a lot!

Anyway, just wanted to say "hello" and thanks for being here!

Hi there. I haven't been on here for ages so thought I should reintroduce myself. I'm 36 and my husband is 34. He's got 2 kids from his previous marriage and I don't have any. He works abroad for 9 weeks at a time and is home for 3 weeks in between which makes the whole ttc thing a bit challenging as we don't get to try every cycle and sometimes when he's home I'm not ovulating. It's all a bit frustrating at times. He's just gone back to work but it would seem that I ovulated a couple of days ago so hopefully we're in with a chance this time. But if not, then next time he's home, we're going to head off to the doctor to get some initial tests done and go from there.

Hope everyone is doing ok and fingers crossed for all of us.

Ahem! Hello :) Trying for my 2nd baba at the ripe old age of 46. We are going au natural because if it's meant to be etc etc ... :)

However, feel a bit isolated because our first was completely effortless and this time we have been trying for 6 months with no luck. I think at this age I'm not ovulating as regularly so have invested in the Clear Blue fertility monitor which, states today that I'm indeed ovulating. So excited that I sent the text, "I'M OVULATION - COME HOME FOR BOOM BOOM' to the local cab firm instead of my husband. :/ Yes, in caps and everything.

I've never had the experience of the 'dread of a negative test' before. It's absolutely horrible and can become all consuming. However, happy that I'm ovulating & happy to be here, ladies.

Love

Also, VERY CONFUSED as to all the abbreviations. I've worked some out but others still evade me :)

So funny!!!!

Hi, I'm Alex!

So cool to see an area for us over 35s. I'm 37 (38 in a few weeks) and my guy and I are trying for our first. I'm fit, healthy, and regular so I'm hoping we won't have to many problems conceiving. We're both fertile as far as we know (he has two boys from a previous relationship, and I had a miscarriage some years ago with a different partner) so, fingers (but not legs) crossed!

Right now I'm in the dreaded 2ww zone. Hopefully my least favorite aunt won't show up on September 1st!

Anyway, this seems like such a great, positive community, so I'm really happy to be here. :)

Welcome SuperAwesome and Tabby007. I hope you all get the support you are looking for. I just got to my day 14 past IUI. I am too scared to test because I can't afford to see a negative over the weekend. The weekends are my ONLY good days. I am having mild cramps and back pain. I also took my temp this morning and it was 98.68 so still high. Right before AF shows, my temp drops to 97... I am still crossing my fingers. I have had cramping all the way from 8 days past ovulation till now and I am so anxious to get a bfp. I have been ttc for almost 2 years and I have been infertile for 10 year. My DOC. just found endometriosis and removed it so I am hoping I won't have problems with implantation. Best of luck to you ladies! I can't wait to hear about your soon to be BFP's!~ hugs! and baby dust!

Hello I am 35 and my DH is 39 and we are also trying for our 1st. We are hoping to get a BFP this month. we have been trying for only 6 months

Hi everyone, been on for a bit, but haven't got to do intro, So here we go, I'm 36 and my OH is 36, We are trying to have one together. I have 2 that are My Life, One is 16 yr old girl and the other is a 6 yr old Boy! Yes a big gap, there were other pregnancies that ended up having to be D n C? So it worries me that I won't be able to have another sticky bean after that.:cry::cry::cry: My OH has no kids and was married before and she had problems he was tested and was fine. he is awesome w/ kids and would love to have a baby w/ him, especially being that I know I will spend the rest of my life w/ him. We've been together for almost a year (in Dec) and no luck so far. We've tried but then sometimes haven't tried. Good Luck to all you ladies. HOpe we all have sticky beans by the end of this year... :hugs::hugs::hugs::kiss::kiss:

my youngest sister and bro in law are trying to conceive. they have been going through all the steps and doing what they are supposed to do. i live in another state and i love them so much. i wish i could be with them. she just found out this last treatment did not work as of today and she feels in her words 'defeated.' i have been searching for support groups in her area to no avail. no one could possibly be of help to them when they are not going through the same. does anyone out there know of any support groups in the state of colorado, boulder county that specializes in iui failures? i dont know what else to call them but there must be something out there? any help is appreciated...p.s. she doesnt know im doing this. thank you.

ellesedona - i agree with Indigo. Your sister in law should come on here. There are many in the same boat and unlike a support group its 24/7. On here she will be able to chat with people going through the same thing at the same time and possibly even in the same area.

If in doubt get her to give this place a try.

:hugs:

Thanks for this forum. I'm looking forward to reading and sharing experiences

I am so excited to find this forum! I will be turning 36 in a couple of weeks and my husband and I just started TTC for #2. I'm doing the two-week wait right now.

Hello everyone... I'm delighted to have found this thread catering for the older, wiser and sexier woman! :winkwink:

I'm new to the boards after stalking and reading for a little while. Now I'm officially TTC I'm thrilled to be here.

I'm Lingra, I turned 39 in the spring and me and my husband are going for baby #1. I married at the grand age of 36 (he was 27) and now we're 39 and 30 it's time to get serious.

We've been NTNP since early 2009 and discovered the following year that he has varicocele - SA was fairly disappointing re: morphology (4%) but we've since been told this is not completely hopeless... however not much has been happening and I keep being not pregnant.

So we've decided to up the ante and use Pre-seed for the first time this month (but very likely too late, as I don't chart or do temps or OPKs) after OH had a sudden and strong feeling there was a soul waiting *somewhere* who was ready to be our baby.

So I'm a week away from my period yet and really just getting that out of the way before starting properly to have masses of :sex: and putting my legs up the wall afterwards. My mum swears by the post-coital headstand - not sure I'm up to this level of athleticism but she did have four babies all conceived the very first month she tried for them. If it comes down to gymnastics for me, I'll post photos so you can all have a giggle.

Very much looking forward to offering support to all the ladies here and being supported in my turn. Lovely to meet you all!

Hello everyone! I'm 35 (very soon to be 36) and TTC #1. OH and I have only been trying for a couple months, but I have already learned so much from all of you on this site. I am so thankful that this forum exists and am proud to join a community of such strong women!

35 - 36 quick approaching. TTC after MC in January... hoping to find some ladies to relate to on this forum.
Good luck everyone!
