Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

This is tooo funny!!

All drugs have two names, a trade name and generic name.

Example, the trade name is Tylenol and it's generic name is Acetaminophen.. Aleve is also called Naproxen.

Amoxil is also called Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.

The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra.

After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin.
Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.

Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer..

It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one.

Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of 'cocktails', 'highballs' and just a good old-fashioned 'stiff drink'.

Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO.

Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research.

This means that by 2020, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Ok ya'll...yesterday it was 109 degrees in Austin!! Painful!! And today, when I left the house at 4:45am it was already 85. THEN, I went for my morning run at 10am and it was 96 degrees!!! HOT doesn't begin to describe what it feels like!!:nope: The only thing I want to do is eat :icecream:...but that is not on my diet right now...

Coy...:hi:I am so glad you have sore shoulders!! At least I am not the only one with sore muscles!! :haha: I love that feeling too...when I tell my trainer I am sore he always says "You worked hard for it!!" :bodyb: Did I mention my BF is one of my trainers too? It is hilarious that we have to break up when he trains me and then kiss and make up after the workout! :haha:

AFM and TTC...I am on CD 12 and should ovulate this weekend...I hope!!

HEHE.. that is funny! If it works, then good for you and your BF!! So sorry it is hot there. It is hot here too, but not that hot! I can't wait to go to Canada where I'm hoping it is cooler. I have a monster headache, and have a bunch of stuff to do after work. My head just needs to get with the program! I can't rest right now.. :haha:

When I have those monster headaches caffeine works everytime for me! Have you tried it? :)

No, was hoping it was because I was hungry. I ate, and it got worse, then my cleaning ladies were here making all sorts of noise, I might take an excedrine migraine, but caffeine and I do not get along very well. If I drink a strong coffee or take an excedrine, I often feel like my heart is going to pop out of my chest. I was hopeful it might just go away?

OMG, Jess, you kill me! Dixafix??!! Omg, I almost peed my pants at that! Ahhh...too funny. Not the problem- the name :haha:

Thanks, I needed a laugh!

Oh, and on that note- Jess your post mentions money spent on boobs, etc...Wow, my dh and I have talked about this. I am totally flat chested, like seriously-- an A-minus in cup size :haha: My bra's don't feature cups, they features saucers  But it never really bothered me much. I used to joke with dh about getting implants and he says he doesn't want me to...His ex-wife did that. he was away on a contract (business) and when he got home she had dipped their banked account by $15,000!! And they were HUGE and he said what he hated is she flaunted them, like wearing bib overalls with no shirt under them Pretty disrespectful if you ask me. Anyway I told him it'd be nice to have like a B or C cup for if I wanted to look good in a swim suit but then I start thinking how many child cleft pallets I could fix with 10-15 thousand! I don't think I could do it!

OMG.. that was hilarious Jess! Thanks for the laugh :) :) :)

I finally got in touch with the Clinic in Canada, YAY! We are moving forward, and now I need to get the sperm up there too! As luck would have it, they have 1 vial of sperm ready for me! It is more expensive up there It will be $863 for 1 vial. Yikes! Then about $615 to do the U/S, the blood work and the IUI. At least I now feel like I'm making progress!

Hey Ali you're obviously sensitive to caffiene, a lot of people are especially if you dont take it often as it's actually a very strong stimulant. I get strong palpitations if I drink coffee, energy drinks or vodka! :haha:. Being open I had a minor heart condition for about 15 years, called a SVT (fast heart rate in plain english) and then another problem which I cant remember the name of but basically the same in my second natural pacemaker in the heart (you have 2 natural pacemakers, one in the upper chambers and one in the lower). It was discovered while training with a heart rate monitor when I used to compete. I've had 3 operations and the last one in 2008 was fairly successful, although I still have to be careful when out running etc as I use to pass out at the side of the road, my body's response to stress, good apparently as you then recover but not good for the nerves! :dohh:

Claire, :hi:. Your story is very similar to mine, although my DS is only 19 months, hoping we both get our next rainbow babies :flower:. Where are you located?

Coy and Jess, here's a laugh - it was the warmest here in Northern Ireland today for about a month, at a whopping 23oC :haha::blush: :growlmad:. DH and I are seriously considering moving to somewhere with decent weather as it really does get me down.

Alin and Terri :hi:

Nothing to report here so have been lurking more than anything as also have nothing interesting to post! CD4 and I am craving chocolate lol. Bit low but it's probably just a combination of AF and work. I've some leave organised from next weekend so my goal is to make it till then:winkwink:

Jess - your post re the medicines :haha: That gave me a giggle.

Ali, if I dont get on before you travel home, safe journey and I hope you can keep cool :hugs:

Well, I am a fitness competitor. And in that arena, I would venture to say that atleast 95% of competitors have implants. But I do NOT. The funny thing is that when I won my last show in November last year, I was the ONLY one of the top 5 that didn't have them...and I got 1st!!:happydance:

When I lean up for competition, I shrink up to almost nothing! Lol!...like a small A cup...but I get stuff sewn into my competition suits. I figure if they can get stuff sewn into their bodies to enhance themselves, then I can get it sewn into my suit! Both are artificial, but mine are CHEAPER!! Lol!

I wanted them at one time but my BF said, although he likes boobs, he likes them real.

He is completely satisfied with my little B!!:haha: But I made him promise me a lift after we finish having babies. :winkwink:

:hi: Angel!!

OK...23o Celsius...isn't that like 74o Farenheit? Real heatwave, huh? :haha:  I am SOOOOOO jealous!! Lol!

Re: your BF--my dh said the same thing. He said implants are hard as rocks and expensive to maintain :haha: Idk...it'd be nice, so I told dh when I am old and things that I didn't know I had start to sag then I'll get some. really big ones :haha: Lol...

Oh, I do have to be so careful though in talking to dh 'cause my little teenager-wanna-bee (she's 7 ) loves to eavesdrop. she has become a bit of a snooty kid lol! Here I am all prego with my belly sticking out and my Irish white skin (I am descent of Irish ) that just loves to burn...I was telling dh I want to get fit again next summer, lean, you know, and geta nice tan, etc...Well, my 7 year old is competative with me for some erason and she's being a "bad girl" lol! She struts up to me all slim and says "You're fat...but don't worry about it, you'll lose your baby fat. And did you notice?" - she sticks her leg out - "I'm just oh sooo tan right now...unlike you with your white skin." :saywhat:? Little shit! :haha: I've never heard her be so insolent. By time I was done talkin' to her and her dad was done talking to her she felt pretty ashamed! lol...Dh and I spoiled her rotten when she was an only child and it's hard to get her past that. She was watching Victoria Secret fashion show on tv once and asked her dad why he didn't marry a woman like that?! Aaaargh! It's difficult int his society of imagery to train a kid up right !

I wrote my master's thesis on the self-esteem of middle school children. It is absolutely amazing how children are affected so early in life by world of superficial advertising...makes me sad because it has an impact on so many other areas in life...

I KNOW!!!! :rofl::sadangel:

Is it too much to ask to have a nice summer like? It's now thunder storms!!! :growlmad: Ok, yes I could move, but to where? Somewhere with nice weather, or at least a decent summer. I like the cold in winter so that doesnt bother me too much. Somewhere with fairly good job prospects, good housing, good health service and a great place to raise children :coolio:

Does such a place exist? And if so, please tell me where and now! :brat:

Ireland just gets so much rain and yes 23oC is an exception to the norm (it's normally around 16-22oC in the summer on a normal day), it can get really depressing and I really am getting to the stage you only live once etc...

Ali, what about Canada?

:hi: Angel!!

Interesting! I had a heart murmur as a child but supposedly grew out of it. I do not drink coffee on a regular basis as it tends to eat my stomach. I prefer tea. I think I forgot to have my tea this morning which could be part of the reason I had the headache, but then again I don't normally have tea on the weekends. I hope your heart is doing better now after all of the surgeries, WOW!

I just need the work day to be over so I can go run my few errands, and relax, and hopefully my head will stop hurting

Ali - fresh air will probably be the best remedy, hope you get finished shortly! xoxo

Canada is a great place to live and to raise children, in fact there is a good possibility I will move back to Canada in the future. When I left Canada back in 1996 to move to the states the economy was floundering and I couldn't find a job. Now however the tables have turned and the economy is way better in Canada then it is in the US.
I'm not familiar with taxes in Ireland, but they are pretty steep in Canada. They do cover a lot, and you do get free health care. Also, compared to the US, Canada has a better track record for family and free time, and putting family first. It is not as open to family time as Europe, but like a hybrid between the US and Europe.
The climate does change a lot between the east and west coasts, but generally speaking the southern parts of any province will have a decent summer, and in some areas it might be too hot of a summer! HEHE :haha: For example the area that I grew up, Southern Ontario has about 4-5 months of fairly warm, if not HOT weather. Somewhere from 70-100 degrees F, then spring and fall where the weather is more temperate, and finally winter and the snow! I do miss the snow, don't get any of that down here in Florida. :haha:

Wow, Angel and Ali- you can HAVE the snow :haha: I grew up in Alaska and I swear I have had my fill of snow shoveling and sub-zero temps...I want to move somewhere tropical...Here's my ideal. Tropical weather, surf when I want it, large grassy areas for kids and horses and dogs, fruit growing wild and in abundance, waterfalls, yet a ski-resort as I love to ski :cloud9: Know of a place? lol- women! We're never happy :)

Jess- I know, it is tough with youngsters, especially girls (ugh, teen years comin' up!! :) )and something we work with Teagen about. telling her honesty, integrity, those are better than flesh beauty. She knows she is pretty but we don't want her looking down on others you know? Or thinking her beauty can get her things (which it can unfortunately but not the things she thinks she wants!) They see the popular image of what is beautiful and that's what they believe. When T asked her dad (in a nutshell) what he saw in me he told her he knew he could always trust me and that I had his back :cloud9: no matter what. He said in a "fire- fight" (soldier talk!) he could depend on me. That's a lot coming from a Marine! I'd take that in place of big boobs any day! :)

Hi I am new to this forum...tried a few others with not much response. I am 37 and have always had trouble ttc. I have pcos and don't ovulate on my own. DH and I tried for a couple years before my DS was born. I did femara and trigger shot injections to get pregnant with him. He is now 6 years old and we have been trying for years for more babies. I started seeing my RE in February and am preparing for my first ever ivf in July. I am scared and excited and feeling so many different emotions. Last week was spent in the hospital. What started out as irregular uterine bleeding (since April) turned into severe hemorrhaging. I went to ER and was admitted. I had lost 1/4 of my blood supply and needed to have blood transfusions. I had surgery for a uterine evaluation, some polyps removed and a d&c. I got sent home and was back in the ER the next morning. I had absolutely no strength. It was like my muscles weren't responding. I couldn't lift my arms and could barely walk. It was the scariest experience ever. I went back in and the labs came back fine. (thank goodness). They had no idea what was happening to my body. They assume it was just all the trauma my body had been in recently. I was in a car wreck a month ago and then with all the bleeding and surgery etc, it was like my body was screaming for rest:)
I am thankfully feeling much better. Still weak and nauseous from the Meds but so much better. Just saw my RE and we are hoping to start ivf in the next few weeks:)
I live in Arizona but am originally from Ontario Canada so I have definitely lived in both extremes. I would much rather have seasons than 8 months of horribly unbearable heat but hubby is from here. His work has great fertility benefits so I guess we will be here for awhile. I look forward to getting to know you ladies out there.

Morning lovely ladies,

Well, its officially CD1 for me today, and it threatens to be a hot one! 24 degrees today - woohoo! I actually do struggle in that heat as I'm just not used to it. Its raining outside at the moment and we have thunderstorms threatened for tonight.

We have the Olympic torch coming to the area today. It'll be where I live at about 11.30hrs, then where I work at about 18.55hrs. I won't see either. We had the Queen come to visit a couple of weeks ago and you couldn't move in Nottingham apparently and I think it will be similar this evening. I just hope the weather holds out for them. It'd be nice to see it as it'll probably never be here again, but unfortunately once I finish work at 17.00hrs, I don't want to be hanging around for 2 hours as I'd spend too much money and probably buy too much food!

The Clairvoyant was brilliant last night, as she always is. She came to one lady in our group, who's Husband cheated on her, so they split up, then he hanged himself. He apparently told her through the Medium that it wasn't her fault and that he couldn't live with what he had done to her. We were all in tears, as were half of the room. She knows of people's ailments and was telling them to get to the Doctor to get checked over. A few of us are planning to book a private group session with her, so we should all get a reading. She's booked up to Christmas though.

Hope everyone is well. Oh, and by the way, it sounds like I have everyone's share of boobs!!! Hubby has agreed that once I've lost weight and finished having kids, I'll be able to have a boob lift. Don't need any implants, thats for sure, but when these babies start heading south, they'll keep my knees warm.

Hehe, look at my chart, complete contrast to the last cycle, which ended on CD67. Now I just have a dot.

Welcome to the newbies. :hi::hi: This is a great group of ladies on here.

Ji Terri! Sounds like you had an interesting evening! Fascinating stuff :) Yes, your chart is funny with just the dot :haha: Now's when it likes to throw something at you, right? Then we can all have fun trying to decipher it  I am still fairly new to chart reading but picking it up pretty quickly!

I am beat tonight and starving all of a sudden...I am wondering what to eat. Right now my time constraints limit me to either cold cereal or instant noodles....
