Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Coy, it's probably just a one-off from the heat and walk as your diet appears ok, the combination of food should have resulted in a slow release of any sugars, Jess is probably more up to date than me, my nutrition knowledge is a bit rusty. Can this be the cause of something in pregnancy? Like gestational diabetes or something developing as well? Perhaps bubs was just a bit greedy this morning!

Not really sure  I do have a tendancy to get the shakes even when not prego, jsut seems like I am burning more energy when I am prego (which, I suppose, I am) but it sure is annoying! :haha:

Well I am totally bushed! I don;t think I did much outside but it was enough, lol :) I trimmed the trees, trimmed all the bushes, cut down the huge thistles that have started to grow  transplanted a bunch of my sickly flowers , raked the yard, cleaned off my hand-planted patio of flag-stone rocks, bathed the girls, did two loads of laundry, made a fruit salad, made the girls a second dinner (kids can EAT!) and now they are sleeping....I am exhausted and my back and girdle muscles are killing me :nope: serves me right, huh! Anyway as I skipped dinner I am starving as usual so wondering what to eat this late. The girls wanted those Ramen noodles (without seeasoning) and man was it hard not to take a bite! I am properly addicted  Think I'll go eat a salad and go to bed

Congrats Claire. Very happy for you!

Looks like I had my O yesterday, so all is well :)
At least I think I did, check out my nice temp rise overnight
Now we just have to hope that the :spermy: lived about 36 hours, and the 2WW wait begins!

Claire.. how did the HPT look today? Is it a :bfp:?

Congratz on the O:happydance: Fingers crossed for you.

Still getting positives but only a smidge darker...was driving myself nuts comaring lines on the 7 tests I have done...all with second lines but still not dark.

So I went & got a digital this morning & got a PREGNANT..makes it more real seeing it in words:happydance:
Now i just gotta pray it sticks

Went to RE office today for more bloodwork and ultrasound. Unfortunately ovaries are still pretty quiet. They have upped my Meds again and hopefully we will start seeing some action soon. The shots aren't overly painful so far but they are so far from fun :(
DH is great about giving them....just not sure I could give them myself. I am way too chicken. I go back Saturday and Sunday for more labs and u/s so fingers crossed these ovaries start producing some follicles.

Boooo! I knew I would forget to do my temp this morning!!

I'm just not sure how I will make myself remember...
It is hard enough waking up at 4:30am to go to the gym...I even set out my workout clothes the night before because i am so disoriented in the mornings!

Oh well...I will try to remember tomorrow...

Coy...how were the burgers? Yummie I hope!! :)

gncope, fingers crossed for you honey, I hope things begin to progress positively. I don't think I could give myself injections either!

Jess, there's always tomorrow, it took me about a fortnight to get back into the habit again. I struggle with the early starts as well, just don't ask me what 2+2 equals at that time of the day ;-)

Morning Ladies :hi:

I'm 2DPO and woke up to cramping and a little nausea, I think I feel this way every month, must be the progesterone rising that makes me feel so icky. As it is simply too soon for it to be anything else. Had a fun night last night with my step family (my 2 step brothers and step sister) and their spouses and kids. My step brother cooked steaks, and man were they every YUMMY!

Coy That is too funny that you were cooking burgers the night I said no McDonalds for you! Burgers are fine in moderation, it is the extra fat that is added by fast food places. When I make burgers I usually use a lean meat, and I grill them so much of the fat drips away. That helps! Just eat! As for the low blood sugar feelings, I get that occasionally too. Although I'm surprised that you got it after having eaten fruit and granola and shredded wheat. None of those things would cause a sugar spike and then a drop. Maybe it really was the exertion of the walk and heat with being pregnant that caused it. Have they done a glucose tolerance test on you? You might want to check that out, as gestational diabetes is not uncommon.

Jess - I too have trouble remembering to temp, I put the thermometer right beside my bed, and even with that I sometimes forget! Best of luck!

Claire - you need to be persistent and get a call back from the Dr's, I have never knowingly had a MC (so I probably haven't had one), but I can only imagine how horrible that is. You would think that with your history the Dr would be more interested in getting you in to see him, and getting that blood work done to make sure that everything is where it should be. I'm hoping that you make some progress today!!! :hugs:

Ali- yep, I cook them lean too and very rarely....Also, re: the gestational diabetes. Funnily enough my doctor told me he does not test for that u nless he notices something looking wrong  Personally, I think they ought to test for it, in both my other pregnancies they did, but I was woth a different doctor (a WOMAN :haha:) LOL! So  I use dh's diabetes at home test kit to check occasionally. Today I am trying two steamed eggs and a nectarine for a late breakfast and see how that works  I did like eating earlier yesterday then about dinner time we just have fruit or a veggie salad.

Nuts to feeling icky, but it does happen doesn't it! We women go through these monthly nightmares  no matter what! :gun: lol.... I have an awesome feeling for you this month, I am so glad they flushed your other ovary out!

Good on you for checking on occasion! It certainly doesn't hurt (well a tiny pin prick) :haha: I rarely eat burgers too, although I do use hamburger meat on occasion to make tacos (but season it myself, cause the seasoning packages are full of all sorts of crap). Sometimes I make a yummy meat sauce for spaghetti, but then I put it over spaghetti squash. I actually prefer it that way. It is yummy, filling and so much better for you!! Sounds like you need to stick with more lean protein for breakfast, maybe have the fruit for lunch or a mid-afternoon snack. I have heard that eating fruit in the late afternoon or evening is a hindrance to weight loss due to the high level fo sugar in them. Not sure what they say about it when you are pregnant!!

I spent my morning feeling nauseous and gardening. I wanted to add some new perennials to my Mom's garden. So I raked out all the pine needles to get the acidity out of it, and then planted some new perennials. I need to get back out there and water it and work to build the soil back up in some areas. Then cover it with mulch. I have to work until 9 tonight so it probably won't happen until tomorrow, but that is OK.

Ali- your temp chart is showing just a smidgen over 98.1--that's an awesome temp! Are you doing the progesterone supps this month or are you going to wait until y ou get the bfp signal? I was about 2-2.5 weeks prego or so when I started mine.

I'm going to wait until we do a p4 test next Tues/Wed. That way we'll know if mine is actually low or whether it is in the normal range. I will probably opt to do it either way just in case, but I thought I would wait to see if my levels were normal or low before I did. Always nice to know what your body does naturally instead of just giving it hormones I may not need, ya know? So right now, no progesterone suppositories! The clinic here uses a different kind of suppository, they don't need to be refrigerated, and they are 1/10th the cost of the ones my RE in FL prescribed! Yep.. only $25 for a 12 day supply vs $250 for a 15 day supply. That is a HUGE difference! Plus the ones she has don't leave any residue behind unlike the ones I was taking. The crinone was literally disgusting!

Hi everyone! I have a 12 year old son and recently remarried! I am 38 and trying to have another child! I am concerned! I think I was ovulating last Saturday! I am on 21 and have had bad bloating pressure and cramps for at least three days! What does this mean?

It depends on the average length of your cycle from start of AF to start of next AF...mine ranged about 28 days and I usually ovulated on CD16 or CD17. So it is possible that you Ovulated. The bloating and cramping feeling could be a rise inhormones signaling bfp OR :witch: is on her way.

I am 37 and 6 months pregnant, so I know it is VERY possible! My doctor told me not to worry about the health of my eggs as long as I stayed healthy

Do you basal body temp at all? Or chart your cycles? I found that it helped tremendously when ttc!

Ali, I don't blame you for waiting on the progesterone to make sure! Yes, just keep an eye on it, if it is normal and doc says leave it alone maybe just check again about 6 weeks of you get your bfp? To make sure the corpus luteum (I love spelling that word :haha:) is normal

How are you feeling? Feeling bfp'ish at all ?? :hugs:

And where is Jess? :growlmad:

Well it is only 2DPO! HEHE! :haha: So I don't think I'm feeling :bfp: symptoms but I sure as heck felt like I was! My tummy has been flip flopping all day long and I've been dead tired. It could be the heat though, it is about 90 here and there is no A/C, at least there is a nice breeze off the lake.

I got a call from the FS at the clinic here in Canada and he is just as confused as I am with the report we got from the HSG in Toronto. It looks like he said my uterus is anteverted AND retroverted? How is that possible? He also mentioned that it was malformed but didn't really say how or to what extent. So he said he was going to contact the radiologist for more information, as he felt that it was rather ambiguous, and not complete. From what I have seen you can't have an anteverted and retroverted uterus, it is either/or

Coy-- yes don't you worry I will be making sure my p4 is looking good if I am pregnant, I will be hanging on to it for dear life! :haha:  I'll spin on my head :headspin: if that will help keep it up there :haha:

Aaargh! I want to go for one of my super walks but my 3 year old wants to come...that downsizes my power walk from "Super" to "Meager" lol! :haha: I hate to say no when they want to exercise but my body is designed differently than a 3-year old sized work out :nope: So dh is trying to distract them and I can split out the back door  Am I terrible?

GO!GO!GO! DH can play with the girls in the back yard and they can get a little daddy time in :)

That's just what I did! :haha: What's really sad is it was cool and cloudy when I left... A minute and a half into my walk the clouds disappeared and the burning hot sun came out and baked me for the entire walk! :growlmad: So I took a shower when I got home to cool off and when I got done with that I was amzed to step outside into a deluge of cooling rain and awesome cool breeze, dark clouds, thunder and lightning! :cloud9: It is still going on hours later  Ahhhh...sizzle, right?! :haha: Feels so nice, dh and the girls and I went and stood outside for an hour or so just loving it.
