Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

I know some as dh is diabetic...I checked my levels at 1 pm (a half hour after first test) and it had dropped to 96. So it does drop which is good. I am just concerned over the spike. Normal person should sit at about 75-80 I think and as I have tested before I know that is my normal. Dh also suggested that certain foods may spike me higher than others, e.g., the shredded wheat. He suggested I may try sticking to oats, plain oatmeal, proteins of course, and try diff fruits to see what causes less spiking. Idon't mind testing foods!

Re: the glucose test. Yes, I have had this twiice, once with both my dd's. The first one they thought I may be a little high so extened the test to another day and attributed the high to a sugared tea I had just consumed  The test with my second dd was fine but made me puke  This doctor says he does not do the test as aroutine check (which, personally, I think he should) but I may suggest it if I stay unclear on my patterns.

Ali, fingers crossed for you! I got a dip at 6DPO this month as well so hopefully we'll both get those BFPs very shortly . I've had a dip at 5DPO before which resulted in my darling 20month old. I'm trying not to get my hopes up but the symptom spotting has went into overdrive

YIPPEE :yipee: for you too! What DPO are you on now? What other symptoms do you have? I have pain on the right, kinda close to the ovary, and nausea. OMG the nausea.

OK Ya'll...I just set my BBT alarm on my cell phone for 4:25am! :happydance:

So hopefully tomorrow morning I will have a temp to record/report!!

I even designated a special alarm (A Baby Changes Everything--Faith Hill).
I know it is a Christmas Song, but it is the truth!! :winkwink:

At 8DPO today Ali, temps high again. I am trying to be objective about symptom spotting but so far,
  • Tingly boob thing going on
  • A bit nauseous this afternoon
  • Irritable, so irritable - I'm ready for the divorce courts lol
  • Emotional
  • At 6DPO I had lower discomfort, then heaviness followed by mild cramps for half a day and backache.
  • Tired
3 out of 5 of my charts on FF record BFPs so I really don't know if these are regular symptoms for me at the moment or not. I will say I'm not normally this high strung but then again maybe I'm just overtired!

Go Jess - I could always ring you with the time difference! Looking forward to tomorrow's update x

Jess- good for you! Lol, I use my cell phone for alarm aslo, just my little girls leaving me cute little messages...One is Teagen saying she loves me and the other is Katana saying her night prayers...Very cute! Anyway the sound of their voices (even quiet) wakes me up! :haha:

My symptoms at 5DPO:
  • Nausea***
  • Backache
  • Funky cramps
  • Sharp pains this afternoon on the right side

To those of you that were talking about your mom's, I meant to respond earlier, but it slipped my mind until just now. I hope your relationships with your Mom's gets better, and if you have daughters, that you make them feel extra special! I love my Mom and we have the best relationship ever. In fact she is helping me with the costs of the IUIs and the donor sperm. She really wants a grandchild! She is so cute, every day she asks.. any news? I keep having to tell her NO :nope: but hopefully in another few days I can say.. YES!!!

I have a pretty great relationship with my Mama too!
Even though my parents have 4 grandchildren (My son, and my brother has three sons) they sure would like a grandaughter. :winkwink:
And since my brother and SIL are not having anymore, it is up to me. They do not bug me about it, but every once-in-awhile mama says,"You still want another baby, right?" :)
She cringes ant the thought of me competing again. I haven't told them that we are trying. BF and I decided to just let it happen and surprise everyone when it does.
So, only my friends here on this site know. :winkwink:

AWW.. that is way cool! I feel so special to be one of those people 'in the know' :haha: I do hope you get to surprise your family with a little :baby:!!!

Hi ladies!

Thanks Ali, I think it's awesome you and Jess have great relationships with your mothers! I don't think mine will ever improve :nope: If I get a cold or something like the seasonal stomach flu her and dad tell me that's because I've got demons in me :sad1: or some other such dither and dh said I didn't have to deal with it any more and we have "exommunicated" ourselves! Not from God, just the family  But I still have God & Jesus in my life in an awesome way, two (soon to be 3) gorgeous girls and a very loving and supportive dh, so I am extremely happy and satisfied. I do wonder though what it'd be like to have a mom that is supoprtive and, well, nice? :haha: I do try to go the extra mile with my girls because of how mom acted though- she used to make fun of me if I wanted to wear a dress or look pretty...so I tend to go overboard letting the girls dres up and dh and I tell them how beautiful they are every day. They are, unfortunately, beyond confident and bordering arrogant now  LOL!

K, well my doctor called back and told me he is not concerned about the brief spikes in glucose but rather about the lows as far as I am concerned....So he told me to eat more food more often and try to keep my glucose steady rather than letting it drop.

Sigh. I think he is a goof ball, because he tells me to cut back then increase. So I think I'm going to just watch my stuff myself and eat accordingly  I do try to eat small and often but sometimes I forget

HEHE! :haha: Just do what you feel is right, and make sure you eat every few hours, sometimes just a small bite of something is all you need. I just like to have small things that I can snack on throughout the day. Like when I go to work I usually bring some carrots and hummus, and a yogurt and a small handful of nuts. I don't really eat a lunch per se, I just snack on these things throughout the day. Some times I switch out the carrots and hummus and add in a piece of cheese (or 2) and 1/2 an apple or a few grapes. You know, that kind of thing. I find it helps keep my blood sugar in the right place and I don't feel hungry, plus all of those things have good amounts of protein and carbs, and nutrients too!

I'm sure you have little things like that you can eat in a hurry that aren't too high in calories, but are protein and nutrient rich.

wow you ladies are very heathy i need to motivate myself any tips???

omg,,,,,,,, got my BFP last night,,,, i am toatal in shock.....
