Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

:hi: Good Morning everyone! I was away all weekend but I checked in twice.

Kelly...did I see a BFP? I saw a faint line!!! Tell me I didn't imagine that!! WOO HOO!! Congrats!!

Ali...how are you doing today? Do we have a BFP from you yet? I'm waiting....:-=

Coy...I was laughing about the Pamela Anderson mouse pad! :haha: Too funny!!

And how is everyone else doing today?

Twotogo...welcome! My name is Jess...I am also 40 and ttc #2. I have a 15 year old son.

AFM...well, I had a fantabulous (Fantastic+Fabulous :winkwink:) weekend...even though I didn't take my temps for two days, BF and I did get some BD'ing in and it was all wrapped up this morning with a smiley face on the OPK!! So now what? More BD'ing? He is gone most of the day today and I am afraid I will be sleep when he gets in. But we did BD last night so hopefully his swimmers will make it!!
Monday morning was so much brighter after I saw the smiley face...I even took a picture of it...:haha:

:hi: Good Morning Jess!

So glad you had a wonderful weekend and were able to wake up to that awesome smiley face! Gotta love those things. I can't help but feel happy when I see that face too :) Hopefully you can stay up late enough to get a little more BD'ing in tonight for good measure

Ali...If I don't manage to stay up, do you think I am still in a good position because of last night's BD'ing? Be honest...

I think it depends on how long you surge before you ovulate. Male swimmers can live 48-72 hours I think, but let's say you don't ovulate until tomorrow, then it might be cutting it close. I know I usually surge for almost 48 hours before I actually ovulate, but each woman is different! Just remember, swimmers live for 48-72 hours, and eggs live for 24. So as long as you hit that window, you should be good to go! I think your chances are good right now, but they will be better if you can stay awake for some BDing tonight!

I might have to take a mid afternoon nap so I can stay up!! :winkwink:

Hey Everyone..

I tested this morning with 2 different tests, since one of them looked like there was the faintest of lines. It was one of the Target brand early response ones, but the FRER had absolutely no second line at all.
It is puzzling to me that for 2 months now I have had a great chart and no :bfp: Even this morning I saw my temp rise again so I was convinced that I should see a :bfp: but noooo.. its just not there! :growlmad:
Now I simply feel like AF is on her way. My lower back is really sore, my cramps are getting really bad and the nausea is getting worse. I will be heading down to the FS tomorrow for a beta test, and so we'll know for sure sometime tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath though.

Sorry if I sound a little down, I'm trying to be upbeat, but I just can't help but think I'm out this month :nope:

But AF is not here yet, so just stay positive!! And if you can't, well, I will be positive for you!! :winkwink:

I don't get any AF symptoms. So I never know what's going on until she actually arrives. I don't know what would be worse, having symptoms that are similar to PG symptoms and not knowing for sure...or not having any symptoms at all and not knowing for sure...I guess either way, when you don't know for sure, then it is still frustrating...
But. never-the-less...I'm staying positive for you!! :hugs:

THANKS JESS!! I really am trying to be positive. I just don't feel any different than last month or the month before.. or well the month before that! LOL. By this time tomorrow I should know the answer though! That is a good thing. Then we can either prepare for my miracle, or prepare for the next cycle.

You and Coy are so awesome! I'm glad I have you both to give me encouragement and support :) I just really want us all to have our miracle babies! Luckily Coy is already on her way to her miracle, now its up to us!!!

Try to get some BD'ing in tonight if you can, but don't sweat it if you don't. I understand the need for !!!

HEHE.. I am sorry! I looked for the test and now I can't find it! It was one of the Target brand early response tests. I don't know if one of my doggies ran away with it or what! If I can find it I'll post it. The FRER's were all negative, no hint on them at all.

Hi Ali... I know you are feeling discouraged, but I am not convinced you are out yet! I never had any luck with the FRER until after my period was due... I was testing with clearblue easy and when I got my first positive, it was the faintest of faint lines... I pulled my daughter into the bathroom to see if she saw it, too! It was so, so light... I'm still pulling for you!! I don't think you are out yet!
good luck tomorrow with the beta test!
phil.

Well that certainly helps me feel a little better! I am still hopeful, but sometimes you just feel it, AF is on her way. Then again, I have read comments where people feel exactly as I do and are blown away by the :bfp: so really I have no idea what to expect!

Kelly.. I agree with Jess, focus on the positive, and that is that you are pregnant!

I will say that I had a similar situation with a fortune teller when I was about 19 yrs old. I went with a friend and we both had our fortunes read. My friend was told that she would have 2 boys but one would have an accident involving wheels. I was told I would have 3 beautiful dark curly haired children, and when I asked him if I would have trouble getting pregnant (I'd been diagnosed with PCOS only months before), he said that my babies would be very special, but didn't comment further. I even asked him how/why they would all have dark curly hair (since I'm blonde with straight hair), he said I would marry someone that looked like a young Omar Sherif! So other than describing the cottage (where I'm sitting right now) to a tee, and telling me that I should keep playing the piano, none of the rest of the fortune for me or for my friend has come true. While she does have 2 boys, they are both happy and healthy!

While his fortune has always stuck in my head, I don't really believe that any of what he said has to come true. I think we make our own destiny and between our destiny, and our faith lies our true path.

So back to you and your wonderful :bfp: rejoice and be happy! :):happydance:

Oh, and since my donor sperm is from a guy that has straight blond hair and blue eyes, I doubt I'll get my 3 dark curly haired beauties this month! :haha: Unless they messed up and switched my samples  Now wouldn't that be a kick in the pants! I think I'd also have to be having triplets too. YIKES! That would be so scary

Kelly, I agree with Ali and Jess- no need to worry. Whoever this future teller was obviously wasn't worth a scratch- (s)he got your friends wrong, I don't really think that futures can get mixed up! :hugs: I am going to venture out on the limb here and say that you are def hormonal right now and can attribute your recent worries to that! I certainly worried also, especially after my mc in November, I don't think you should worry at all :friends: You got your :bfp: so do a  and try to relax and focus on that :hugs: :hugs:

thanks ladies your so kind i really want to chill and be positive but how i need your help waht do i do??????

Kelly...you can start by changing your status from "TTC" to "Pregnant":happydance: ...at least that is what I would do!

We are all so excited for you...you can also try making plans on a calendar...when will you have your first Dr appt, when your due date is, things like that. Plan...it makes it even more real! :hugs:

But most of all, RELAX!! In the words of the great philosopher Bobby McFerrin, Don't Worry, Be Happy!! :happydance:

Jess, I love your idea about planning! It does help, for one it helps focus on taking steps, you know? First appointment, then of course ms measures out  lol, next appointment, and et cetera. It does help to stay focused. I worried also, like I said, but I was so excited about the prospect of my baby that I just focused on that and tried to be positive.

Kelly, everything will be fine, don't worry :hugs:

OK...so I posted a picture this morning of my smiley face, indicating a positive OPK. AND, I also did my temp this morning...and BD'd last night (and hopefully tonight too!). So now what?

This is my first month doing the temps AND OPK tests. When should I see a spike in my temps? The thought of the TWW is daunting, however, I'm really excited about having the info from both the temps AND the OPK.

You ladies would be proud of my energy and accomplishments lately! :haha: I have learned to multi-task on a whole new level. 1) Instead of doing a load of laundry every other day I have started to let it pile up , then I throw the colors, lights and darks, all in together :haha: 2) Instead of preparing for my assignments I blast them out last minute (not sure if that's new or not but it still works for me ) 3) I make breakfast, lunch, and dinner all the same so I don't have to think about menu's

I take all my extra time trying to lay on the couch but always end up with some kind of crazy project  I am gutting the girls closet (again) today, in hopes of condensing and making more room. Tomorrow it's my closet :nope: I hope I make it in and back out safely :haha:

K, if you got a smiley today then you should ovulate anytime between now and tomorrow. As you bd'd yesterday you should be covered- this gives the :spermy: time to travel up the tube and lay in wait :haha: Ideally bd'ing today or tonight would be good also. As far as your temps- As soon as you ovulate you should see a rise in temperature. Usually the morning after ovulation. If you are prego the temps will rise (say into the 98's) and stay there unless you have like an implantation dip or something. Hope I helped!

ff will give you crosshairs after two temp rises which will then show you you have ov xxx
thanks for the advise kinda scared to change my status to pregnant worried ill be jinxing it i sound like a proper nut bag im not ladies i promise i like the idea of planning

My youngest dd is so funny- dh got her started on cottage cheese with pineapple  lol, and she asked for some. When I put it in her dish she gushes “Ohhhhh, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I love you love you love you!!!” :haha: LOL!

AWW.. that is so sweet! That is the reason we go though all of this craziness! To have precious moments like that :)

Have you made any more progress on the name for your next DD?

I'm soaking wet. I must have forgotten to turn the hose off at the house last night, so when I went to take the nozzle off, the water came spraying out in all directions! :haha: I wanted to put the soaker hose I bought this afternoon on instead of the nozzle. I hope it helps! At least I don't have to stand out there for hours watering :) I will just have to go out and adjust it every hour. Where is the rain? We haven't had rain since I got here, 3 weeks ago. The garden looks like straw, even with me watering nightly. :growlmad: Anyone know how to do a rain dance?
