Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Thanks, I hope you are feeling more relaxed this time around- it is hard to be relaxed but always makes the tww more pleasant!

Oh, btw I got a call from my doc that said they had an opening to see me today (he apparently cleared his schedule for a trip out of town then his plans crashed so he is in the office twiddling his thumbs :haha:) so I went in today. They got baby's heartbeat almost immediately at 150-160 bpm! :cloud9: I feel so much better about it all now. My next appointment is still scheduled for april 11th. Dh and I and the girls will all go to that one :)

Oh that's so great!! I'm so happy for you. I know I will be the same when I get my BFP!! I just have this feeling it will be soon. Just a feeling. I remember when you were in the tww after me I could just tell by your energy that you were going to get a BFP.I think maybe you even knew and that's why you were so relaxed? I think when you are really in tune with your body you just know:flower::hugs::hugs:

Boy I sure wasn't in tune with my body with my first dd:blush! I was soooo sick. Dh and I had driven several hundred miles to visit family (yeah, terrible trip :() And I was so sick I couldn't eat or drink anything except corn nuts  All the drive home poor dh kept having to pull over so I could get  Anyway after several weeks of this we finally realized I was prego  Should have occurred to me sooner but it was my first (successful) pregnancy.

Btw I was a little miffed at the assistant at my doctors office. She made the comment "I am glad you decided to go ahead and come in today- I mean, givem your track record" Yeah that's right lady- reassure me! :growlmad:

Seriously, what the.... I don't understand people like that. Oh well the main thing is that you feel better:hugs::hugs:

Yep, I feel okay today- got a lump in my throat as usual- acid maybe? But no throwing up lately, doc told me it is natural for nausea to wane at this point but not to be surprised if it shows up occassionaly.

How are you feeling? I have been stressed out- I have been embroiled in a three year long court battle and next week it finally comes to a head. I have a 5 a.m. 120 mile drive then sit in talks, hearings, and judge interviews from 8 a.m. to about 6 p.m. or so then another 120 mile drive home. I'm going to be poooooped :haha:

I'm feeling pretty good! Still tired and waiting things out. I don't have any tests anyways so.... I will wait until Sat I think. I got my last BFP at 13 dpo.
I'm sorry to hear about all of that stress. Do you mind if I ask what it's all about? I hope it all goes well.

Marathongirl- I was just checking out your chart- I notice your temp dropped a bit...at this point it could be an implantation dip. Have you ever had implantation dips before? I think the timing is right but won't know for sure until tomorrow or netx day right? How are you feeling?

AFM- windy but warm here today. I have been working somome basic manintenance on my car and have a few more parts to install. I can't believe the power surge I have now! It's awesome!:thumbup. Anyway, I haven't had to actually vomit for like 3-4 days now. Still get icky feelings but I have been able to eat so that's been nice. :)

I'm thinking I might be out but I'm hoping your theory is right. I didn't have an implantation dip with my last BFP and I wasn't charting when I had my other 2 kids:shrug: I guess I will know tomorrow:shrug: I was feeling so positive this cycle so I'm a little sad even cried a bit this am:cry:

I'm glad you're feeling better. Amazing what you can do when you don't have to throw up all of the time and you can eat:shrug: You can install parts on your car? Wow you're amazing. It sounds like there is nothing you can't do:hugs::hugs:

Grey eyes- thanks so much. I know that God will plant the right baby for me at the right time. It just does seem so hard sometimes. Poor dh doesn't understand that it can take time. I know it will happen but I'm pretty sure not this month. Temp was down a bit again so I think af will arrive tomorrow. The up side is that if she arrives tomorrow it means my lp has returned to 13 days which is better than 12. My acupuncturist said that 14 days is ideal??
Good thing dh was there. I'm so impressed at you and also that your girls are so good at entertaining themselves!! I feel like my 9 and 8 year old kids can't do it sometimes or they end up fighting.
I will keep you posted. Thanks for all of your support.

Note sure which is the best and more active forums, I posted this on another thread so apologies upfront for the double post, but just to get started -

I'm 41.5, DH is 53. Never pregnant. Never drink or smoke, eat very healthily and at optimum weight. I do light exercise daily. DH's mobility, etc. counts are moderate to good.

After undergoing FSH a year and a half ago, the fallopian tubes were clear, and had to have a polyp removed.

Then proceeded with 3 IUIs, then 3 IVFs. The third IVF last week was unsuccessful. We're devastated.

The first IVF no mature eggs were recovered, so there was no attempt at fertilization; the second IVF there were two mature eggs, one fertilized, it was transferred back, but it didn't take; this third IVF of 13 eggs retrieved only 2 were mature and neither fertilized.

So....am desperately looking for ways to improve egg quality.

The doctor said further IVFs would be to only play on hope. He said there were other, alternative 'unproven' methods we could consider. He mentioned Human Growth Hormone, and DHEA.

Is anyone here going through any 'alternative' or other such treatment?

I am actively on this forum and am 42.5 so a year older. I have been trying since last May and have had 2 chemical pregnancies and a mc at 12 weeks. I have now had 3 cycles with nothing but am feeling hopeful. There are a lot of women including myself that take coQ10 for egg quality and also royal jelly. I take 600mg of the coQ10 a day. I am also a huge believer in Traditional Chinese Medecine and have been taking herbs for the last month. I have done a lot of reading and there is a lot of anectdotal evidence that it works. You need to see someone who it trained to diagnose your specific defiencey and it will make a huge difference. Good luck:hugs:

Grey eyes- no good news this month. She showed up yesterday and I was having a great day with my kids. I had a good cry when I was with dh last night and now I'm feeling a little better. I know once af is gone I will feel hopeful again. I know It will happen when it's right. I really do believe this and trust that God knows what he is doing. Thanks for all of your support.
How are you feeling??

Welcome! This is an awesome thread! Glad to have you on board  I personally have not performed any of the cycles you mentioned...clomid years ago and progesterone this time around. I am 36 (in a few weeks). Since you seem to have good eggs in there have you ever thought to have the sperm checked? My dh had cancer years ago and went throguh the whole SA deal but not recently. Could it be an issue?

Thanks so much Grey eyes. I am looking forward to the next one. Maybe I will have my Christmas baby!! Dh has awesome swimmers so it is just not the right timing of everything. This time around I think we will try to bd every other day just for a change?
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your support.

Thank you Grey Eyes, and it's good to be here and have people to relate to.

We do have the sperm reports, I will post them when I dig them out, would be good to see if what we're told is 'moderate' is reall 'good' or 'not so good'. But so far no mention from the doctor or embryologist about the sperm, just the egg quality.

Thank you for this Marathon Girl.

First I'm seeing about Royal Jelly, would be interested to know more.

As we currently live in Singapore, which is ethnically 70% Chinese, we have TCM everywhere. I started with the acupuncture and TCM tea only a month before my 3rd IVF, stopped the tea during the IVF. After it failed they recommended I restart once AF comes and goes.

DH is desperately trying to get DHEA sent as it's not sold here, may be able to get a prescription. This week I started taking CoQ10, 400iu Vitamin E, 1000mg Vitamin C (the last two per my IVF doctor). I'm not a vitamin taker but DH is, so this is new to me.

What I've been told, and would like to hear other views on this, is that TCM herbs are helpful for when the ICSI'd egg is put back as it helps with the adhesion and the growth from there. I don't know the correct terms for 'put back' or 'adhesion'.

What our TCM doctor said, translated as she's from Hong Kong and doesn't speak much English, is that the TCM herbs do not help with egg quality, but I will speak with her again next time I see her as I want to be sure this was translated correctly.

Best of luck to you and :hugs:

marathongirl- how are you today? I am tired- had a super long day in court yesterday, alot of back and forth who-hah stuff  and a long drive home. Hoping for a good rest tonight. Getting ready for trial now....if I can just get my mind to rest would be awesome! I kept going over deliberations and interrogatories and depositions in my dreams so didn't rest too well :dohh: Today was trying too (neighbors- ugh!) but will tell ya all about it tomorrow  Thinking of you friend! :friends:

Thinking of you too:hugs: I hope it goes well and please pm me if you want to talk about it. I hope you get some rest after it's all over.
AFM- cd6 so should be o'ing in a week! Going to try not to get too uptight about the bd schedule and may try EOD this time around:shrug: I know it will happen. I am feeling much warmer from my herbs so that is a great thing!
Thinking about you and sending my positive vibes your way:hugs:
