Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

i just was very disappointed and that is how I dealt with it. By eating everything in site!

SAMs.. how many calories are in the freshology food? Your body may need more calories than what is in them. You could buy a few good snacks to eat between the meals, like a yogurt or some carrot sticks. That will help! Just keep at it : thumbup:

AWE.. it is not easy going through IVF.. I didn't gain any weight on my first one, but ballooned in my second one. Stress, Christmas, even stronger hormones, the second one really took its toll, physically and emotionally.

Just take each day as it comes, take time out of your day for you, surround yourself with good foods so when you do get hungry you have good snacks. Keep up with your acupuncture, or get a massage. Cleanse your body, and your mind. Then prepare for round two!

The question is do I do this end of April or May?

My FS prefers a normal cycle in between. It just gives your body a rest and gives them time to do more testing if necessary and for you to cultivate more follicles. I'd ask the FS in your WTF appt about your antral follicle count, why only one ovary responded, what you can do to get more and better quality eggs, and ask about additional supplements you can take. There are some studies that show DHEA (Rx strength) is turning the click back. Also ask about alternate protocols like the Long Lupron or Lupron Flare. Maybe even ask for a uterine biopsy? They have been known to make the uterus more fertile.

Also pay attention to your diet, and everything you out in your mouth. Between my first failed cycle and my second I ate GF, didn't drink, quit smoking, took all sorts of supplements, and tripled my egg quality! So it is possible! I took advice from a woman who was on an IVF thread back in October with regards to the GF and the supplements since she had done so and produced better quality eggs the second time around. I figured it couldn't hurt!

So if if were me I'd take my time, work on detoxifying your body and taking supplements known to improve your egg quality, and see your acupuncturist.

Chantal... thinking of you today :hugs:

Ali... thank you very much for the advice, I'm not speaking to DH at the moment and don't intend to for a while until I figure out my next steps xo

You know we are here for you! I hope he get's the help he needs to over come this, and that you 2 can find your way back to each other  In the mean time you need to do what is best for you, the baby and your LO.

LADEEEEEZ!

Chantal- praying for you today, I know this is rough. You will feel different after today a bit bereft iykwim, but it passes. I was even more determined to ttc after that point, and it sounds to me like you and dh have an awesom plan with DE or DS. And none of this nonsense stuff women get entangled with feeling not woman enough! :growlmad: I went through that too--- it's just life, dh and I even talk of adopting, maybe even older kids because no-one wants them :nope: You will get your :baby: one way or another, hang in there! :hugs:

Sams- sounds like something I would do :laugh2: Margerita? never had one, but bet I'd enjoy the introduction. Don't be too hard on yourself! One damned good meal and a couple margeritas? You deserved it  Stay off the scale  You 'll lose weight over time, be patient :flower:

Ali- have you picked your yellow yet? I'd try putting it on a test board and letting it dry first  Color changes when it dries. Is that Zach in the pic btw?snuffing round? :haha:

AFM :flower: I feel awesome currently but drumroll on the day - never know what might happen :winkwink: lol I slept alllll night long, and minus changing two diapers and having one nightmare that my tire got slashed again  I slept awesome. Today I only have to write one summary of my study week so will concentrate on Kat and her school- she'll have fun. I did call the doc as her spots came back. T was clear yesterday which makes this like 2 weeks for her :happydance: So I am hoping her extended hard antibiotic round last time did the trick. I spoke w/an RN and she said it soundslike tonsilitus minus the sore throat  and that she thought doc was being a lightweight w/the antibiotic....I mean, I know they are supposed to eb care ful and not overprescribe them but in some cases-hey, it's needed. So FX'd!

I've picked the top left color. It is called cornmeal, but to me it looks more like butter. So that is the one I'm going with. That is actually Zoe hanging out at the top of the stairs pouting at me. She does that if I don't give her enough attention, and I wasn't giving her ANY since I was snapping pictures of the wall :haha: She's like.. hello? What am I? I'm the one you are supposed to take pictures of. She likes having her picture, and will usually pose for me. Unlike Zach who just scampers about!

Glad your day is going well thus far, mine is too. I got a decent nights sleep, am at work and things are going well. Bummer about Kat's spots, but at least T is OK! I am thinking that it is fungal or viral and not bacterial, since it keeps coming back. I'd talk to them about doing a proper culture and see what it is, they can also treat it in culture and see what actually kills it. Then prescribe that. To get that kind of attention though, you need to go to a good ENT. I wish you could go see the one I had in Colorado, Dr. Pingree he was amazing!!!

This is who I went to see: https://www.integratedent.com/

He is the one that did the environmental testing in the home, and got me healed when I was having constant sinus infections. Maybe you can have a virtual consult with him? It is worth a try, either that or ask your Dr to give your kids a dose of diflucan, just for the heck of it. That will kill anything fungal.

I hope the rest of your day continues do be great

Ali- thanks! I know, the ENT we went to looked atr T across the room and said "have her tonsils out" and walked out of the room! no exam, nothing. Poor T started to cry :sad1: Anyway, see what we can get done

Lol at Zoe :winkwink: Wsh I could meet her, she sounds awesome!

Hi Everyone....

Chantal, I am sending you warm thoughts and hugs today.... I'm so sorry you are going through this.

Angel, I'm also sorry you are going through what you are. If you'd like to talk, feel free to send me a private message.... addiction sucks, regardless of what sort it is.... sending you hugs and love as well....

And Sams.... sucks that it didn't work on the first go round, but keep your chin up! and on to the next try! *hugs*

As for the res of you..... how are all my BnB ladies today?
phil.

Well that may very well be the answer for T, but before you do that, you need to find out what is causing the spots to keep appearing. GEESH, that Dr is  that is like saying my finger hurts and amputating it. Instead of looking at the finger and seeing that there is a sliver in it, remove the sliver and you are good to go! I wish you could find a better ENT!

Zoe is a hoot, when my Mom was there yesterday, Zoe jumped up to sit beside me and leaned into me and raised her head up, it was so cute. My Mom was like.. AWWWW.. she is such a sweetie! <3

Chantal..

 Hope you are doing OK! As Coy said, I'm sure it will be an emotional day. Go with it, and let yourself grieve, and hopefully soon you can start looking towards DE and all that is involved in it.

Omg I am getting frustrated at doctors! :brat: In a nutshell....Teagen has been clear of the tonsilitus for about 2 weeks now - YAY! so I cancelled her appointment with the ENT. Her Doc prescribed a super tough antibiotic and silly me I left half of it on the counter overnight and it spoiled :dohh: which meant he prescribed another...so she got 1 1/2 prescriptions. This seemed to knock it out :bodyb: NOW dh has it...doc prescribed weak amoxycillin for 2 weeks and he got worse. Now he's on a super tough extended dose and he's getting better. I'm getting better. Kat has it again--so I call her doc. They say "her doctor is out of town for 10 days, call the PA". K. So I call the PA. The PA says "since you cancelled Teagens appointment I refuse to treat Katana". :saywhat: :saywhat: and........:saywhat:!!!! So I call the ENT and they say "well, we've never seen Kat so we can't treat her- call the PA".

 Finally the ENT agreed to call the PA after her very important fat-butt lunch hour :growlmad: and see if she has time to pretend to be a damned doctor!

Ah...Rant. :

Freaking Doctors and Insurance issues drive me bonkers!!!:brat:
You cancelled T's appt which she didn't need, so why on earth would you still take her in? So stupid. This is a different child, that now needs appropriate help. The PA sounds like a tard :haha:
So my co-worker.. has had a headache for a month, that is affecting his eye and vision, and he has vertigo. When he looks down his left eye is blurry, and he feels dizzy. So his Dr submitted a request for a CT. Our insurance denied it. So after about 2 weeks of trying to find out why our insurance denied it, he finally finds out that the Dr didn't submit the issue appropriately to the insurance company! All it said was diagnosis.. HEADACHE. Well no wonder the insurance wouldn't cover it. You should just go home and take some tylenol! :haha: So once the Dr called in the other symptoms, the CT was approved. What if it had killed him in the last 2 weeks? That Dr would have been in TROUBLE :growlmad: So he's going to get the CT tomorrow. He was at the point that he was just going to go to the ER and get it done that is how horrible his head is. :dohh:

AFM - I think I have an ulcer or something funky going on in my tummy. It feels like its eating itself? What is that all about? I have some ant-acids at home, I'll take one tonight. Hopefully that fixes it.

Ali- sounds like you have acid :nope: hope no ulcer! Wow, your poor co-worker....sounds like something sinus to affect the eye and headache like that.

PA is definately a "tard" :haha: The ENT has had time to call now...so I am sure the PA is going to be properly offended at me for making her look bad to the pro's  Guess I better go call and find out......

OK, so I call the PA back and she says "go see the ENT" and I say "the ENT said to come see you" so she says "you should see the ENT" so I saay "the ENT is not in town and cannot be seen " and she says "so drive the 300 miles to go see him" :saywhat: and I say "he's booked and cannot see my daughter and told me that she needs to be treated" and the PA tells me she won't see her.

&^%$##$((@!~!~!!!

SooOOoo I have now booked her to see another doctor in town. Hopefully he's not a tard :haha: ( Ali you made me laugh with that! :laugh2: )

The list of doctors I need to hit keeps growing!!! I wish you had more options for doctors there. Maybe then they'd be more attentive if they thought you had a hundred other doctors to choose from.

How are you and dh feeling?

Chantal I'm thinking of you today. You are a strong woman and you will get through this. Be kind to yourself and rest, cry, vent, or whatever you need.

Angel I can empathize completely. I have a family member that used to drink too much and when dh works for 2 weeks straight he tends to do go on a weekend binge. Luckily I have pointed out that the only people he Hans out with during these binges are 3 loser friends with no future or he drinks by himself while I sit there and abstain. It has put a spotlight on his behavior and so far he has not done it in a while. Everyone works, everyone has stress but how you deal with it will be passed on. I think he gets it now. Stick to your guns, silence speaks volumes.

Ali how's the pups? I also like the cornmeal, looks like a nice neutral that you could add navy accents or seafoam green accents to. How's the headache?

Phil your baby is a cutie. What a sweet smile!

Sam how are you doing girl? What Dr in Syosset?? I have friends that went to Winthrop and ha success.

Afm been on Gonal F since Wed had u/s today. So far 4 follies at 10mm each, estrogen rising nicely and he said my lining looked good. They are keeping me on the same dose and I go back for more bw and u/s on Wed. So far only side effects are mild headache, nausea but the fatigue increased today. I am going for acupuncture tomorrow and Thurs. I hope this works, if not it's on to IVF. I guess I can be thankful for the fact that so far I'm responding well to the Gonal F and making some follies.

Other than that it was a low key weekend and I was in bed early every night. What's everyone doing for Easter and Passover?

Babywhisperer- I am getting excited for you! When do they do the, um... :spermy: injection

The hot turkey baster injection? I don't know yet. Maybe I will get some clarity on Wed. It was funny dh and I went into the dr yesterday at 8:30am and the place was packed for women doing their monitoring. Dh took a look around and said "this does wonders for the ego, seeing over 50 people on a Sunday waiting for the same thing". I just can't help but wonder why we can't get prego. If IUI doesn't work maybe we will get some answers from the IVF process.

That is great news.. having 4 follies at 10mm :) Are there 2 on both? Or are they all on one side? It is also good that they are all the same size, it is bad when there is 1 really big one and then several medium sized ones. I used Gonal F too when I was doing my IUIs. It wasn't too bad. Headaches and fatigue. So once they get to the right size, they will ask you to trigger, then 36 hours later you'll either do TI or an IUI. If you are opting for an IUI have you thought about doing 2 back to back? I did that, and while it didn't help with me, it could help with you  You can ask the FS next time you see him. So the IUI is pretty simple. On the day of, you'll get there early, DH will give his err.. sample. They'll spin it, get the liquid out, and all the bad ones too, then when they are ready they'll call you back in and inject them into your uterus. It is kinda like a really tiny turkey baster! Then you will lie on your back with your legs up there and wait for them to go where they are supposed to go. Then you wait! This might be TMI, but while you are waiting, it is sometimes thought to be good if you have an "O". The female "O" gets contractions of your uterus happening and that helps prod the little guys along. Or you can wait until you get home
