Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Baby.. yep.. that is normal.. it is good that your ovaries feel full it means you have some nice follicles growing

Looking forward to your update tomorrow!!!

Coy.. the trial is boring :coffee: I just stick patches on my body every couple of days and go in for US. I should be ovulating this weekend, then we do the biopsies next week. They are tentatively scheduled for Wed and Fri of next week. Then I get AF, and we wait :coffee: for the results. Then we decide if we're doing the FET or another test cycle.

I don't want to waste my embryos, so they won't be going back in unless I'm convinced we have left no stone unturned!

So when we finally do the FET I will also be doing an IVIg transfusion. It lasts for 4 hours and I've read it sucks. By the last hour you have a fever and the chills and are sweating and shaky. I am dreading that  If I get pregnant I'll have to repeat it for 3 more transfusions

Ok.....WTF is IVIg transfusion? :haha: Is this in regard to NK cells?? Sounds ominous but necessary :hugs:

You got it!! Smartypants! :haha:
The IVIg makes the NK cells behave and not kill my embryo.

Ugh, DH is sick and I'm feeling weird. I should be Oing in the next 2-7 days so I'm transitioning off Allegra (no extensive testing for effects on pregnancy) and on to Sudafed (which is apparently OK). But I feel like I may be coming down with something. Ugh.

DH is a trooper though. CD10 and he's feeling awful, but BDed this morning. Spermies were old, so just flushing the system....neg on OPK.

OH dear! I hope you guys feel better! It's good to get that BDing in the days before you ovulate. So keep BDing every few days until 1 day after your last Pos OPK!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Ya'll are sweet! Good luck on your tests, ovulations, pregnancies, children, and general daily life obstacles and challenges this week. We shall overcome! :)

Best of luck to you too! It is nice to see someone that is standing up to the 'throw meds at it' scenario we see all the time! I think you are doing the right thing and in time you'll have a child of your own :flower:

Looking forward to your update tomorrow!!!

Ok update time, I have 3 good follies at 15, 14 and 13. There is a triple lining as well. Dr is very happy with how I'm doing esp considering my AMH was .47 then .75. He wants to see me tomorrow for more blood work and another u/s. He said IUI should be before Monday. I hope they continue to grow! How does this sound Ali, our resident expert?

Any one have anything fun planned for Easter? These Cadbury commercials have me craving chocolate like its my job!

DOUBLE  That all sounds amazing! What dose of Gonal F are you on? They were at 10mm on Monday right? So they will probably get you to trigger either tomorrow night or Friday night, possibly Saturday, it will just depend on how they grow. Having 2-4 is what they want for an IUI, if you have too many, they will cancel and either make you do an IVF or nothing at all. Course I think at our age having more is better. Especially after reading that by age 40 only 25% of our eggs are chromosomally intact!

Sounds to me like you have a better ovarian reserve than the AMH of .75 states. I think they are still trying to figure out how accurate that test is. You are not the first person to respond well to fertility drugs with a low AMH. Of course quantity does not necessarily = quality, but I have no idea if AMH can predict quality

Give in to the chocolate cravings, it is part of being on fertility meds!!! :haha: I have eaten more chocolate in the past 9 months doing IUIs and IVFs than I have in my entire life  So don't fight it, roll with it!

It has gotten so bad that I must have chocolate in the house, last night I even bought fudge  :haha:

BTW.. I'm asking about your dose because if this doesn't work your dose of Gonal F will dictate how much meds you need for your IVF. I was on monster doses, and I wonder if it was all necessary  I responded like you are on Gonal F and Menopur at very low doses, but in Canada. My FS here seemed to think I needed huge doses of Menopur and Bravelle. I wonder if I did? So it is more of a curiosity for me.

Keep up the amazing work!!! Oh and I'm going to warn you in advance, you will feel ovulation, and it will be intense. Not to the point of doubling over, but you will most likely feel it! Plus if AF does come  it will be intense too. Just wanted to share that with you so you know in advance!

Baby- maybe Cadbury chocolate is your job! :haha: Ever think you missed your calling, lol..yay for everything looking great! I am excited! Now to sorting the best :spermy: not sure how they do it but they've got some kind of science  ........You had to go and mention cadbury didn't you? And I've stayed so strong! :sad2: lol

Ali- aHa! I thought it might be the NK's, glad they are able to identify and treat it  Looks awesome now for your next IVF, I can't wait!

Sams
- where are you?

ANgel- hope you are feeling better and resting :hugs:

Melly- how are you today?

Twiggers- "flushed the system out" :haha: You made me laugh with that one :haha:

AFM- sitting here sipping coffee and eating a bagel (Am I bad? )Aeryn is sitting on the bed next to me staring :haha: I think she is trying to will me to get up and entertain her :)

Hey Coy!

How are you today?

They don't really do any selection of :spermy: for an IUI. They just spin them like crazy  I wonder if they don't get dizzy? :haha: Its to get the slower ones out and the semen separated. They use the same thing they spin blood with to do this. Then when its all over they have the good and fast ones left (supposedly).

No more IVF's for me. I'm going to do FET!!! Way easier on the body  I'm wondering if I should pay the $600 to have another NK cell test done so we have a more up to date reading on my NK cells before we do the real FET? If it comes back in the normal range then I don't have to shell out $3000 for the IVIg  I am on another immunological thread and the lady there did intralipids (similar to IVIg) and an IUI and it didn't work  So I worry that even with all the things we are doing to make sure it works, it still might not? :nope:

AFM- sitting here sipping coffee and eating a bagel (Am I bad? )Aeryn is sitting on the bed next to me staring :haha: I think she is trying to will me to get up and entertain her :)

Either that or steal your bagel! :haha:

LOL! Maybe she wants my bagel, never thought of that! :haha: Funny baby...but she did an oopsie and fell over so now she's rolling round on the bed...I had to go in storage and pull out my big co-sleeper. She was touching head and toe in the other one  and it was irritating her. Now she is allcomfy--first thing she did was throw her arms up over her head and did a snow-angel impression :haha:

Wow, that's right FET not IVF--my bad :dohh: I forgot your babies are waiting :cold: Hm, good question on the NK test. I would treat for it anyway, I mean if it comes back normal now but then leaps when you start to implant that'd be terrible :nope: not sure how it all works but I would talk to FS about it.

I am good today--so far  Yesterday I was soOoo tired. OMG my eyes were fuzzy, my head was fuzzy...I had a headache, no energy..lol. Last night Kat only got up once to use the restroom  so I got some great sleeping in! Today I have planned.....watch Mavericks before I have to return it, get wood (meh), do school (double meh), and think of something for dinner later. Not much for my day planned! :haha: Course I beg being sick so I'm gonna use that lol. Funny thing is my throat has not been sore even a little  Just crazy spots. Haven't checked it today.

Easter...hm. I am trying to remember as a kid, I remember coloring eggs then hiding them, but isn't the Easter bunny supposed to hide them? I wonder if I should do that.

Hello,

Technically I'm in my two-week wait, though I don't even think about it anymore. Met with the OB/GYN yesterday with the ultrasound. I guess the next course of action for me is the HSG test, just to rule out anything else, however, my uterus and ovaries look healthy on the ultrasound. Oh, and he did confirm that I actually did ovulate this cycle (hence, the 2-week wait) which is great news.

My husband, who most likely the contributing factor here, has an appointment with a new urologist on Friday. He is bound and determined to do another semen analysis. He thinks he had poor performance because we woke up at 5AM that morning and had worked out for an hour prior to him submitting his little swimmers. When I saw his collection, I said, "That's all you got?" There was hardly anything in there, and sure enough, he was .5 ml short of normal collection amount. I think he will need to bring his A-game for the next collection.

All sounds good  They like to do the HSG in the first week of your cycle, like day 5-8 or so. They do it then so that they don't wash anything away, they don't want to wash sperm out or wash a nice fertilized egg away! That would be bad. So I would suggest trying to get that booked as soon as AF shows, and ooh wouldn't it be nice if AF didn't show? :happydance:

I think that you could also help to improve his sperm quality with Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin C and CoQ10. I wish Chantal were here, there is something that starts with P that helps too! Course I can never remember what it is!

Thanks for the info on the HSG. I better call my doctor and get that set up, because I will probably be due for my menstrual cycle in the next week or two (I never really know, hah!). However, I have 45 day cycles, so I don't ovulate until day 28.

Thanks! I have him on Fertile Blend for men, CoQ10, Fish oil, Maca and his doctor has him on Clomid, too. Also, I have him going to acupuncture once a week, mostly because he is sooooo stressed out with his job. I really hope they do another test on him, and let's hope at least those numbers are improving a bit more.

I am on 75 units of Gonal F. This is great info. I hope they trigger soon. I'm happy this is coinciding with the holiday as I have off Friday. I am hyper aware of my ovaries and what's percolating there. I'm beginning to ache.

As far as AMH the nurse said they think stress can throw off the number. Even pre stim meds the Dr saw my follies and felt they looked better than my test showed. I really hope this works. Having 3 good follies so far is encouraging.

I wish I could eat chocolate but it has caffeine! I'm not supposed to have any right? As far as this epic ovulation can I take pain meds or just Tylenol which is as good as having a Tic Tac.
