Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Champagne tickle? :haha: Ahhh I could use some :wine: about now lol

Ah, so I called round - no docs in today  so I hope I don't die over the weekend :growlmad: lol! JK- I am tougher than that. Thinking of taking colloidal silver, maybe that will work? Kicked a tooth infection I had a few years ago, and I think I was nursing Kat at the time...I'll check it out.

Using zinc losenges, and gargling with salt water will help get those spots to go away. I think at this point you just have to rest  eat some broccoli, and eat a few oranges. Get some much needed vitamins into your system, and load up on vitamin C, zinc and echinacea. Or if you don't want to eat your veggies and oranges, then go get some Emergen-C. Add it to your water, and it will boost your immune system like you were super woman! It is like fizzy tang (if you get the orange), or get a different flavor. I have the raspberry, it isn't too bad. The kids might like it too, and it would be good to give them some to get their immune systems pumping too! Just make sure you don't let them have more than 1 a day.

Ali- good idea, I am taking echinacea too, will have to see if I can take zinc while bf'ing?? Maybe kick it by monday and wont need a doc :laugh2:

mmmmm had a sundae last night, think Imma get fat :haha: it's a holiday  right??

Good Friday 2day everybody :flower: Chantal, thinking of you!!:hugs:

Well if all you are eating is ice cream :icecream: then no, you won't get fat, you might turn into an ice cream cone :haha: but IMO they don't look fat

Ya, not sure if you can take zinc, if you look at the cough drops in the cold and flu isle you'll see zinc losenges. There are even some that are sugar free  The emergenC is a little pricey, like $10 for a big box, but with all of you being sick, I think it would be a good buy. Check to see if it can be given to breastfeeding mom's and kids too! Then if its OK, make the entire family have 1 a day. You'll kick it in no time! Rest, eat healthy foods, and get outside in the fresh air if it isn't too frigid! Them's the Dr's orders! :haha:

Yes, not sure if I should say Happy Good Friday, since this is the day that Jesus dies, but I will say Happy Easter!!! :flower::bunny:

Silver is a great anti infective. My friends Dad is a Dr and he swears by it. Any no way you could get fat, not even prego!!

Ali, umm champagne tickle sounds like some act in a porno. Just sayin. But I live the color. What's next, colors named Post Coital Blush???

Happy to hear the needle isn't bigger than the Gonal F pen. IUI is Sunday at 10, dh has to do his part at 8:30. Would bding tonight be too close to IUI? Shouldn't he abstain for 2 days like when he gave his SA?

In the meantime I'm going to use a heating pad tonight and tomorrow. I'm going to be crampy on Easter but I can rest since I will be at my parents 1 town over from me. Happy Easter to everyone!

IDK.. all I know is that the more swimmers :spermy: that are up there the better! I've heard that BD every other day is best, but maybe with less than stellar ones you want to BD every 3rd day? If you feel up to it BD on Sunday before you go to your parents, the female "O" is very helpful in advancing the :spermy: in the right direction! :haha:

I know, I think I'm almost going with the color due to its color. I will have to buy some champagne and drink it in my new 'champagne' room!

Happy Easter!!! I too will be hanging with my parents. We're going to take the doggies to the beach then back to their house for Easter dinner.

Baby & Ali- I could soOOoo get fat :haha: lol! And re:champagne tickle.....those were my thoughts as well :laugh2:

Well, I went and bought the silver.$25.50 for 8 oz. but- kind if need it. I could have bought in bulk (maybe in future) but my teeth were sunk so deep into the $60.00 it required you'd think it was a steak! :laugh2: So 8 oz for now... Hot and sunny thought of taking dd's on a walk but's started to rain :rain: so- nope!

True; I always thought it odd to call it "good" Friday since he died...I gues they call it good for the purpose of the death? hm...

We are keeping it simple. Just the 5 of us, I am baking a lemon chicken, fruit salad, evil mashed potatoes :haha:.I will make Easter Bunny baskets for dd's--3 of them this year! I bought stuffed bunnies, books, stuff like that.

Sounds great! I think we are having lamb, asparagus and yams, with a salad and mini lemon meringue pies for desert.

I was all excited, I thought I would go out and buy Easter toys and Easter treats for the doggies and have our own little Easter egg hunt. I know I'm  but did you know that there wasn't a single Easter toy to be found? At least when I checked the major pet stores online. They have Christmas and Valentines and Halloween covered, but not Easter? Seems like a market that they would have pounced on by now. So sadly no Easter egg hunt for the doggies. Just walkies on the beach (first time Zach will be going to the beach), and hanging out at my parents.

ooOOOooo I want walkies at the beach!! :haha:

I'll take that pie you mention too. :toothpick: lol

HAHA.. actually now that I think of it, it might be mini key lime pies. My Mom really likes them. I'll probably go buy an Easter Lilly for my Mom, and some CHOCOLATE for me!!! :haha:

Hi girls!

Coy... You are right, they call it Good Friday as it was the day Jesus sacrificed his life to clense the world of sin.

I'm on the mobile girls and it's pants for long posts. I hope you all have a lovely Easter. I've moved to my mums for a while as the issue with DH and his drinking has reached a head. He was thick to the end and just can't see the problem and said he won't be calling, his loss and stupidity well, I've enough on my plate at the moment. If he doesn't sort this now he never will and I can't bring up a family in that situation.

I've finally found my balls to face things! Will post full update tomorrow xo

Angel,

Happy Easter, I hope you and your son can find time to smile this weekend, and enjoy the holiday. I know you have a lot weighing on your shoulders, but you also have a bean inside you that needs you to stay calm and relax, and nourish it. So you need to watch out for number one (and your son) and if that means staying with Mum for the time being, then  do it.

Went with DH to the doctor....he's been really sick. had bloodwork last week and his testosterone levels were 18. The normal is 250-800+. The doc (just a GP) said that baby making would likely be an impossibility. DH is gutted...the whole "manly" thing. He needs to get to a urologist and we need to decide whether his health is more important. The low T may explain the lethargy and depression that he's been experiencing for the last 1+ yrs.

Most testosterone replacement therapies result in a zero sperm count....also not good for baby making.

He's also having swelling in his feet for no reason and a respiratory infection. My allergies are just horrid too.

 Twiggers.. I'm so sorry to hear that. It does happen to some men when they get older, low T is more common then you think. It does cause lethargy and depression, and a list of other things as well. How would he feel about using donor sperm? Is that something that you think you suggest? Or do you think that would just be too much for him to handle?

As for the swelling in his feet, that could be caused by high blood pressure, some OTC cold remedies can exacerbate high blood pressure so you might want to move to the ones that are made for HBP people. If it continues he may have to start taking a HBP med. Although I think at this point it could just be his sickness that is causing it. I have had a few bouts of swollen feed (also called edema) the first time was on the cruise ship when I was eating too much salty food and not hydrating enough, and ever since then I've been getting it at the end of my cycle (water retention). Now it seems to be more often, kind of like a constant water retention. So much fun! NOT. Did his GP say anything about it? Or his BP being high?

BIG  I'm sure this news is not what you were expecting or hoping for. However there are things you can do if you both decide you still want to have a child. I am using donor sperm, and it was kind of fun picking out a donor. In my case I had a general idea of what I wanted him to look like, but in your case you can even pick someone that looks like your DH!

Twiggers-- have heart! All is not lost..my dh had cancer and it depleted his teststerone to a dasngerously low level. He used the androel and finally injection and (ahem) 3 babies later! So it doesn't apparently affect sperm count in a negative way. Look at it this way=-- once he gets started on testosterone your baby making chances should skyrocket! :happydance:

Coy- It is definitely a witches brew. It is a huge bag of herbs for each day. I can't use the little metal ball because I have to boil it with 3 cups of water and boil it down to 1 cup, then set that aside, add three cups and boil it down to one cup, do it again, than boil the 3 cups down to one. My entire house smells. But my Chinese medicine man is over 80 and he's an expert in the fertility field.

Babywhisperer- so exciting...:happydance: can't wait until Sunday :happydance: all sounds good.

Alicatt- I think he gave me the ginko because its an antioxidant. He really knows his stuff. I hate going for acupuncture because he puts the needles on the top of my hoohah.. so embarrassing. :nope: The royal jelly doesn't taste so bad.

Angel- Hope you are okay!!!!

Chantal- I'm still praying for you! I'm so excited for your next step when you are ready.

AFM- I'm so tired after a busy week. I have to work tomorrow. and then an event/dinner tomorrow night. I just want time off. This Freshology is not working for me. I think I have anxiety and I keep eating everything else. I need to start working out again. The stimming took me off my workout. I said I would change my life style after that horrible experience and here I am again, not doing a thing.:dohh:

Good morning ladies! :flower:
Sams-- lol @ Witches brew! :haha: Bet it does look gross. Do you have a thingy-ma-bob, you know--it looks like a little metal egg that pops apart and has holes in it. You put your herbs in there and close it then boil that.........That way you don't have floaters :laugh2: Sounds like all good stuff though, I am glad you are taking it

Babywhisperer- I agree with Ali, nothing more disastrous than a premature trigger! Might mean a Monday iui tho....

Twiggers- glad you are relaxed, that helps immensely on all levels......work is good too but don't overdo yourself! :hugs:

Ali- hm, somebody got up in the middle of the night and peed? It wasn't you, I'm pretty sure. I'm gonna use my doggy sleuthing I have acquired over years and years...K. It could be Zoe's response to going to the vet. Sometimes they have a bit of drama packed away about it all. BUT my biggest guess is Zach. I bet he's p'd about all the attention Zoe is getting, plus he whining at you last night, I think he's being a normal emotional puppy-- maybe give him special cuddles or something? Know what I would do? I would take him over to the spot where the pee was at. If he ducks his head you'll know it was him. Then make him sit there in doggy shame for a few minutes. Aaargh, right? lol

AFM- sitting here :coffee: waiting for Aeryn to wake up and her bright little eyes just popped open! :cloud9: Talk atcha all soon!

Coy - Really? Everything I have been reading is saying it depletes sperm!

Ali - Thanks so much! He is on HBP medication (along with a whole host of other pills). He has type 2 diabetes, which is likely the culprit for the low T. Things were fine until about 2 years ago. His last doc mentioned low T, but didn't seem worried. We're definitely going to be getting a second round of tests done. They put him on Lasiks for now to handle the water retention, a steroid shot, an inhaler, and a Z pack for the respiratory infection.

He's mostly just frustrated at always being sick. He has diabetic neuropathy and may even have GI neuropathy (but he doesn't want to get scoped to confirm it).

Oh dear! He sounds like he needs to get back on track. 46 is too young for being that ill. :nope: Is he fit? Does he exercise? Does he eat properly? Type 2 diabetes can be controlled with diet and exercise (for some). Same with HBP. It just takes time and effort to get there. I'm one to talk! The lady that has a great gym 2 miles from her house that she hasn't stepped foot in! :haha: I even pay for it each month. Bad Ali! I have a plan, though, that includes lots of time in the gym. AFTER I give birth! In the mean time I'm committed to eating healthy and getting light exercise. I've come along way though, no smoking, no drinking (but on rare occasions), and eating very healthy. I'm monitoring my weight and that will be my next focus, during my pregnancy and after. Anyway, back to your DH. Sounds to me like he has to have what I like to call a 'come to Jesus party' If you are Jewish you can name it something else. The premise is that if he continues to live as he is, he is not going to live to a nice ripe old age, nor is he going to be around (if you do decide to get pregnant) to see his child graduate high school or get married etc. So if he wants to be there for you and his kids, he needs to rethink is lifestyle and get into shape and figure out ways to keep his diabetes and HBP under control without relying on medicine.

Don't give up on your baby dreams either! It can be done, you just need to take that first step!

BTW what is in the disgusting tea!?

I have no idea? It sounds gross  and time consuming too!

I'm going pretty well with my deliver lean, I am just having issues controlling the CHOCOLATE cravings I keep having! Also not losing and weight either  I'm just not going to worry about that right now. Focus on baby, then once I'm pregnant I'll work on my exercise more. Then step it up after baby is born.

Now if I could only get my transfer scheduled!!! If the US on Monday goes well then we'll have the biopsies scheduled, and then we wait for AF! As soon as AF comes, I'll know my transfer day  AF should be here 2 week from now! So not too much longer! :wohoo:
