Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Coy that is so sweet that you are making Easter baskets for your children. I look forward to doing that. I made striped coloured hard boiledd eggs for dh because he loves them.

Reverend Ken Collins, a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), believes that Christians call the Friday crucifixion of Jesus "Good Friday" because it falls in line with Christian theology--that even good things can come from something so sorrowful as death.

True; I always thought it odd to call it "good" Friday since he died...I gues they call it good for the purpose of the death? hm...

We are keeping it simple. Just the 5 of us, I am baking a lemon chicken, fruit salad, evil mashed potatoes :haha:.I will make Easter Bunny baskets for dd's--3 of them this year! I bought stuffed bunnies, books, stuff like that.

Sams- what does the herbs smell like? wow, your Chinese medicine man is over 80? Wow, I guess he probably knows his stuff  Ask him what's good for infection :laugh2: heheh. heheh...Seriously  Um, he puts needles on top of your hooha? Not the HOOHA! Nnnooo :nope: lol! lol! Poor Sams :hugs: You mean pubic bone right? Yeah, that'd be.....awkward.

Twiggers- Yep. Dh has had to supplement testosterone for years--alot of the meds he is on now for his multiple issues deplete testosterone and when doc finally checked he was dangerously low. But nope- no troubles, in fact our last pregnancy was like Bing! right on the money (um, if we had any, lol!) , surprised the heck out of both of us! So I think given the circumstances you have a better chance of conceiving on the test rather than trying without it  Wow, your dh has diabetic neuropathy too?> So does mine, he's had it for years. HIs legs, feet, hands, even his stomach hurts--and he has the GI neuropathy too, it hurts when he eats, etc, which can also cause IBS, etc....if your dh has to take pain medications (opiates of any kind) they also deplete or reduce testosterone levels, which is why the supp is needed. I dont think he needs the scope to confirm it--if it feels raw and scraping when he eats he's probably got GI neuropathy. Taking something like papaya extract helps with digestion. Re: brother bringing sweet treats into the house. Know what I'd do? I'd make it too expensive for him to continue :haha: Start chucking half of it here and there and claim you eat it! LOL! He'll stop bringing it home....

ALi- you have a gym membership? You plan on hitting it AFTER you give birth? Ummm, that's definitely a faulty plan :haha: After birth you won't have time for ANYTHING  LOL!

Chantal- yes, I make the baskets. Well, not the basket really, I buy that  lol! I find them for .50 cents here and there and then I put stuff in, wrap them in cellophane, etc...it's fun. Plus you save a ton of money. To buy one basket (ONE!!!) you'll spend between 15-20 dollars. I think I spent a total of $7.00 on all three  Yay! I agree with your reverends assessment btw- sometimes good things come of it :hugs: Or sometimes good things follow it I should say. Btw, the eggs sound fun! Stripes? I'll try it...funny, my dd saw something on tv about plastic eggs filled with coins. Shuh! Not happening. When I was a kid we found our eggs and ATE THEM :haha: lol

AFM- well, AF showed up today :laugh2: I guess that would explain my, um  attitude yesterday LOL! Actually it wasn't too bad, but I did lose some of my temper last night getting dd's ready for bed. Their room was completely trashed...then when I opened the closet all kinds of stuff came tumbling out :growlmad: It literally took 2 hours to clean up! I made them help...at one point I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor and I look up--and there is Teagen sitting in her little kid-recliner with her feet propped up watching me. Yeah. :trouble: That's when mama lost it. :haha: lol! Anyways, other than that it was a good Good Friday...we took walks in the sun when it came out, had chicken and salad...
I have started taking colloidal silver  Not any worse today so I am thinking it will help...Fx'd!

Angel- where are you today sweetnins? (That's what I call my dd's...not that they are always sweet...lol)

Well here is the beauty thing about my gym! They have DAYCARE! You can leave your kid there for up to 2 hours to get your workout in. You have to pay a little extra per month, but it will be worth it!! Either that or I'll go when the nanny is here. I am planning on having a part-time nanny. I'll need someone to help out since I can't work full time + over time and be a single mom. Something is going to give, so I figure I'll have someone that comes in for a few hours a day to help out, and maybe a few hours on Saturday so I can rush to get errands done. We'll see I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a part-time nanny? Or what the cost of that it. It will also make a difference if I have twins or not. Or whether V and I get together? So many questions, and things up in the air. I do know that I WILL get my gym time  Plus they will get their walks, with doggies! So I'll get that exercise too :)

Glad you are all ready for Easter. Sounds like the girls are all excited too!! :happydance: I realize that Kat is still too young to put everything away and not make a mess, but T is definitely old enough and I would just tell her the next time their room is a mess like it was last night she has to clean it up. If she doesn't anything that is on the floor is going in the trash! I'm going to be a mean mom aren't I? Thing is that it is in those formative years that they learn responsibility for their things and others things. If you keep letting them get away with it then they won't be responsible adults (well I'm exaggerating here, but it will hold them in good stead for adulthood). So teach them how to clean up their room with them today or soon, and explain to them that this is how a clean room is meant to look. Work together to clean it up this one last time, and while cleaning explain that if it doesn't stay like this, then they are responsible for cleaning it up. Then if they don't give them time to do so, and if they still don't? Well then it is out in trash bags! Then as they keep their room clean you can tell them they can have 1 toy each back for keeping it clean. Promise you it will work!!

AFM - horrible night.. I was on call and the DB went down at 10ish (I'd just finished work around 9:30), I was up until 2am with the database person and the infrastructure person, then I had to do the support level checklist. Then I tried to go to bed, but I was wide awake :growlmad: finally shut my eyes around 3am. So needless to say nothing has been done around here. I got some laundry done, then was so sleepy  I slept for a few hours. Now I feel good, but my day is almost gone! :ignore: Thing is I have errands to run AND I need to do garden chores! Both have to be done TODAY. Tomorrow the stores are all closed and I'm heading to my Mom's for Easter. So hmm.. what to do? I am procrastinating now because I also needed to color my hair. It is percolating on top of my head now. So once it is done, shower :shower: then I'll rush out and do my errands. Gotta go to PetsMart, for flea/heartworm meds, and maybe some Easter type toys for the doggies, then over to PartyTime for some Easter bunny ears (if they have them in a small enough size), then the grocery store for dinner and CHOCOLATE (yes I must have chocolate)! Then I'll rush home and do the yard work. Sound good?

Oh and I'm 99% sure I ovulated around 1-3pm this afternoon and OMG it hurt like a #(*$&$!!! That is when I was lying down, I grabbed my heating pad and finally fell asleep that way. Luckily it has an auto shut off and turned itself off! :dohh: I was all confused earlier this week, I'm actually CD14 today. :dohh:

So I have no idea why my FS was rushing me to start the PIO and worried that I'd be delayed for my biopsies!?!?! Geesh! I'm supposed to be on PIO for 5 and 7 days, and that should coincide with CD 20 and 22. Well by my count that is EXACTLY where we are at!! I start PIO on Monday, then 5 days later is Friday which is CD 20. ARGH :argh: I hate it when the FS (or in this case the PA) gets me all stressed for nothing!!!:dohh::growlmad:

Ali- love that "percolating" bit about your hair :haha: I've been there. Screw it all, just go to Mom's for dinner, lol! Garden chores can ALWAYS wait, lol

Twiggers- what kind of diabetic meds? My dh has had them all-- glucophage, all kinds of insulin, fast and slow acting, actos (not sure if they still use that as itss linked to bladder cancer) hm, what else? Somehting that starts with a "P"...it inhibits the fast absorption of carbs, what in keck is it called...Precose! Yeah, precose. No problems at all, we've popped out 3 beautiful dd's in the last 9 years  So---Fx'd!

Babywhisperer- Good luck

Alicatt- So cute! Love dogs... except for the shedding all over the house!

AFM- I was so exhausted today.. I woke up at 11 am. I haven't done that in years! Tea is gross! and I keep forgetting to take my temp:( Hopefully, I'll remember tomorrow!

Twiggers-
Glipizide (I am thinking this is similar to glimipride???) YES

Metformin YES

novo log-- Humalog

lantus YES

victoza NO

High blood pressure meds YES, cholesterol meds YES, gout meds NO, baby aspirin.

Then there is some muscle relaxers and painkillers (used occasionally) and ambien YES to all 3.

Diabetes is an awful disease, my dh couldn't take the Victoza because of his history of cancer, that's why doc put him on Lantus instead. But yeah- pretty much all of the above. I think one of your biggest issues is probably the low test. That can cause all sorts of problems for guys. Fx'd test supp improves swimmers!

Ali- love the pics! :haha: Your pups act just like little kids :hugs:

Babywhisperer- Fx! Can't wait to hear how it all goes! :hugs:

Sams- hey lady! :bodyb: how are ya today???

Happy Easter, everyone...It looks like everyone is doing well this week.

A quick update on my husband. He went to a fertility urologist on Friday. They will be performing more tests on him, however, the news doesn't appear to be good. His FSH levels are high, yet his count is low. This appears to be indicative of a failing testicle. So, the one last testicle he has remaining, may be going bad on him, too. This would leave him having to do testerone hormone treatments for the rest of his life. Yikes! So young to be having this many problems. (I secretly blame my father-in-law subjecting my husband to second hand smoke as a child).

The doctor, of course, said our only option was IVF. To be honest, we haven't discussed that option any further. I have become at peace with this, as if my calling in life is not to be a mother, but perhaps take care of our aging parents. I haven't shed a tear, I haven't put much thought into it...just that it is what it is.

All that said, he will be having more tests to determine if this is indeed happening to him. Of course, I worry more about his own health than us becoming parents. Clearly this has not been at the top of our priority list seeing that we've been married for 11 years and only talked about children in the last year. At the end of the day, he's my soulmate, my best friend, he's who I am committed to, and regardless if we can or can't have children together we'll take everyday as a new beginning.

Coy- I've been sleeping all day.. don't know what my problem is. Maybe it's the witches brew!

Melly- So sweet... I'm sorry for the bad news. IVF is a great tool. I'm sure things will work out!

Angel- where are you today sweetnins? (That's what I call my dd's...not that they are always sweet...lol)

I'm now here!!! Sorry been MIA getting a few things sorted:flower:

Melly... it is good to be prepared but also good to hope so see what the rest of the tests hold and go from there. Would you even look at one round of IVF to give it a go? x

Chantal..... where are you honey, thinking of you xo:hugs:
