Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi girls, scan went fine this morning . I've to go back next week again for another check up.

Still pooped...

Ali.... yes I'm taking the job I got offered :happydance:. I just have to wait until paperwork is processed (my medical, references etc) and then I'll get a start date. I'm hoping for the beginning of May.

YIPEE!!! :wohoo: :headspin: It is amazing how life can turn on a dime. A few months ago you were so sad, fearing the loss of your job, and the MC's and now look  Pregnant and a new job to start in a few short weeks :happydance: Just goes to show that good things come to those who wait.

My husband gets his results from the second SA today. I'm dying to know what these results will yield. This could be good...or bad.

On a side note, we found out one of our friend's girlfriend is expecting. I was shocked!! He is near 50 and has partied hard his entire life...I mean HARD. He smokes like it's going out of style, drinks all the time (doesn't remember how he crashed his porsche once) and has partied hard with drugs in the past, though no longer...and somehow he managed to get his girlfriend, who is almost 40, pregnant?!?!?! My husband said, "Are effing kidding me?!? That only goes to prove lifestyle has nothing to do with fertility and everything to do with biological make up". He's probably right. Though I'm happy for them, I can't help but wonder that in some odd way the strong survive, and some of us just got dealt a bad genetic hand.

Men have been known for centuries to be able to father children into their 80s! So that doesn't surprise me, and women in their late 30s have babies all the time. Unfortunately not everyone has those same chances, I think that it all depends on luck, genetics, compatibility (of your DNA), and did I say luck? :haha:

Yes it is crazy unfair that some get pregnant by just looking at their DH or teens during their first foray into :sex: while some of us yearn for a baby :baby: and have to jump through hoops to get it. It is just the way the world turns.

There are 3 people at work (2 men in my dept, and one female in a related dept) that are pregnant. Plus my best friend has decided to try for number 2 (but not until after her trip to Israel in June). I hope to God I get pregnant now, because I'm not sure I will be able to take it if she gets pregnant and I don't. I know that is horrible to say, but sometimes that jealous part of me rears its ugly head.

I think that it is normal to feel a little hurt, frustrated, and the why me? Or woe is me? But the key is to 'Carry On' as Fun would say. Right now that is my mantra. Carry On.

Totally agree. Carry on! :winkwink:

I have many more mantras..

That which doesn't kill me makes me stronger.
God only gives us what we can handle.
I am woman, hear me roar!

All I know is I am not going down without a fight :ninja:

AFM - meh.. Thursday. Cleaning lady day and supposed massage day  I had to cancel it due to my burn. I'm feeling really worn down, between the Lupron, the work I've been doing to get my house ready for the hardwoods, the stress of my job the past week, my period, and my worries about the biopsy I feel like I need a vacation! :nope:

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, the floors will be in by this time next week and I should know the fate of my FET by then too. Then hopefully we can start things maybe next Friday? I am so worried that the biopsy will come back bad :nope: I will have my answers come what may in a week.

I am planning on taking several days off after my transfer this time to just relax and recharge the batteries. So hurry up transfer!!! :haha:

Angel - how did your scan go? Hoping and praying it went well

BW - hope you are feeling OK, can't wait to hear about your scan next Friday!!!

Coy - you always amaze me how you are juggling the kids and now a potential job! SUPER WOMAN!!!

JandK - looking forward to hearing about your BFP!!!

Everyone else.. hugs..

Can't wait to see your floors!

Afm, I can cry at the drop of a hat today. Not good.

BabyWhisperer - I think it is normal to have lots of emotions right now. Your hormones are going  and that will definitely do it. I have been crying at anything recently, Boston, West, TX, touching commercials, or well anything! :haha: Just try to keep them in check until you get home, then let the waterworks flow. Your DH will just have to deal! :winkwink:

Here is a picture of my floors right now.. all boxed up in the living room! They will look much like the floors on the first floor, only the first floor is Brazilian Cherry, and the new flooring is going to be Maple. It will still have that distressed look to it (I believe they call it hand scraped).

I have my job testing Friday (tomorrow) Monday Teagen is scheduled to take ISAT's and IRI (a reading exam) in a neighboring community....I have another appointment scheduled for another city on Tuesday.....Doctors appointments smattered throughout, starting my new course (and having to stay ahead so schedules don't overlap), getting Aeryn set on her new schedule, having to register my vehicle and get it road-worthy again....did mention bill paying?

OK OK.. so I'm being a little dramatic! I just want to know that I'm moving forward with the FET!

I can imagine. I'm anxiously anticipating your FET and I'm not even you. Can't wait for this to happen for you!

HAHA! Thanks Melly!! That is so sweet  It certainly makes me feel good knowing I have you all rooting for me! :happydance:
It also gives me inspiration knowing that BabyWhisperer is :baby: and Angel is :baby: so there is hope for us yet!!

Yeah!! So happy the scan went well!! So many exciting things happening for you!

Hi ladies! Well, I am caught up ahead on my school, no major assignments left for this week, got my car registered, gassed, oiled, all fluids , insurance, took it out for a spin  tires balanced....snacks and meals for everybody for tomorro, wood in for the night and tomorrow.... Aeryn seems to be set on a cereal schedule to allow me enough time to test and commute tomorrow 8-[ I am getting separation enxiety from her already! lol! I'm pathetic, I know

My test is basically a cognitive skills test based on speed  I hope all this multi-asking and schooling has improved my brain, lol! Fx'd!

I'm sure you will do wonderfully!!

Thanks Ali!
Oh and I've set my clothes out, hung 4-5 coordinated outfits for Aeryn, and made a chicken breast casserole w/fresh peas and veggie pasta

Um, I snuck in a Hershey bar for tomorrow. Is that bad? lol!

Too funny.. coordinated clothing for Aeryn? :haha: Are the fashion police going to drop in while you are out?

Sounds like you are all set! Unlike me, I'm
not set at all.. stupid head! Migraine again

hi everyone!
just a quick update- but first just want to say how great it is to see some bfp's! :dust: to everyone else who wants it!

we've slowly been getting into a loose routine and most days I can get through without napping! we've been getting ready for Saria's baby shower (for friends and past clients) and I'm having so much fun. i will post pics when its all set up. we made bird's nest cookies, candy acorns (mini chips ahoy cookie with a hershey's kiss underneath and a butterscotch chip on top-looks like an acorn!), marshmallows half dipped in purple chocolate and rolled in chopped almonds, sugar cookies in woodland animal shapes, and a cake that looks like a big pink and white toadstool!
I better get to bed while the gettings good!
Here's a recent pic, ladies! check out those baby blue's!![IMG]https://i1305.photobucket.com/albums/s557/PhilomenaBence/SariaSageApril17copy_zps9810130d.jpg[/IMG]
