Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hello ladies

Ali- Sorry that the infusion had such bad sad effects that made you sick :(
I agree when you are pregnant you don't want to do that again :nope:
Only 9 more days to go! Yay..!

BW- How exciting! You get to see your little apple seed tomorrow :happydance:

Angel- 13 weeks..wow time is flying by. Only 5 more weeks to gender scan right?

Jandk- You will have a memorable mother's day :) :dust:

Grey eyes- Congrats on A's second tooth

afm - fingers are really killing me. Ob thinks I may have rheumatoid arthritis but in the past it did not show up on tests. She thinks thats why I have had flares both times I miscarried because symptoms disappear during pregnancy and flare up afterwards. I told her that I was diagnosed with fibro and osteo of the hands. she doesn't know much about fibro but she said joint pain in my fingers lasting for most of the morning isn't normal for a person as young as me. She said it's inflammation.

Never.. is it possible you have RA but the levels weren't high enough to show on the tests? I wonder if they treat you with RA meds if you will have more success? I know that there were some RA drugs that have been successful in treating high NK cells so I was thinking I might try them, but I don't know if my FS believes in using the RA meds for NK cells.
Maybe it is something to try?

Chantal... do you have a fibro specialist you can get referred to? My mum has had a nerve disorder for over 30 years (she was nearly in a wheelchair due to it when I was growing up:cry:).She too has arthritis (osteo) in her hands and feet. She was also diagnosed with fibro a couple of years ago. It makes me wonder if everything is linked?

I think you need to see somebody who specialises in fibro as it could be linked to that, and hopefully not rhumetoid arthritis developing. Although something tells me that it's very rare to develop both types of arthritis?

I have my booking in scan next Tuesday, I'm a bit nervous as I havent had a scan for over a fortnight but trying to remain positive. The doctors will decide then how closely they want to monitor me with all my risks and medication etc but the anomoly scan here in the UK is done at 20 weeks. You can ask regarding gender but most health trusts here are still 50/50 about telling you because of mistakes being made and people suing. We could get a private scan but I have no interest or the money.

It's still more common here in the UK to stay :yellow: although it is becoming a bit more common to find out gender. I'm in the team yellow brigade as I love the surprise and guessing game until you pop:winkwink::haha:

Ali... How are you feeling today? I hope you are better, side effects suck :hugs:. I'll be rooting for you and JandK

BW... I'll be stalking for you today xo

Hi Coy, Sams and everybody else :flower:

Hey Ladies :hi:

Angel - sounds like everything is going well! Can't wait to hear about your scan next week  I bet everything is right where it should be! I'm with you on team yellow :yellow: We very rarely have any surprises anymore, so why not get surprised in the delivery room? Very excited for you :happydance:

AFM - still feeling pretty miserable, my stomach is still nauseous and now it is coming out the other end  So I'm staying home again to work remotely, but right now all I want to do is climb into bed. I would except the neighbors are going nuts with a leaf blower so there isn't much point in trying to sleep. I was trying, but all I kept thinking was :gun: to get them to stop! :haha: It wasn't a good plan so I gave up. Maybe I'll take a nap at lunch

Sorry hun. You can't seem to catch a break!

Sorry for the delay in posting but the little bean is measuring at 7w4d right on schedule and the heartbeat was 153 bpm! We saw the flicker of the heart then they put on the Doppler so we could hear it and see the rythym which was so awesome. We both cried and it still hasn't sunk in. What a surreal experience. Thanks for all the support ladies. This is truly a remarkable day!!!

YIPEE!!! :yipee: :wohoo: :headspin: AMAZING!!! :happydance: So everything is perfect! The heartbeat is nice and strong and the bean is measuring right on schedule. So happy for you!!

So are you going to tell your Mom this weekend? I can only imagine the excitement!:happydance:

What is next did you graduate to OB? If so that is amazing news, but also scary because it means you won't be monitored as closely. :happydance:

AFM- feeling better this afternoon. My stomach appears to be repairing itself and I'm feeling stronger. I think I'm over the worst of it now!
I have my acupuncture appt tomorrow morning followed by an US with the FS. We will decide on when to start PIO which will then dictate when Transfer will be. They do it on the 6th day of PIO shots. So if all goes well, it could be as early as Wednesday and as late as Friday. I'm guessing Thurs or Fri of next week. I will know for sure tomorrow :happydance: So happy about that!

Thanks hun! We are thrilled. We are telling my parents on Mother's Day. I cannot wait to see their reaction. I graduated, it's funny bc that's exactly what the Dr said. He also said I could stop the progesterone suppositories but I'm nervous to. My friend stopped at 12 weeks.

I'm happy to hear you're doing acupuncture. It really does help. Given that it was our first IUI and it worked I think acupuncture made the difference. I can of wait until next week for you!!! Come on a d be my bump buddy!!

Yay!!! :wohoo: Babywhisperer that is so awesome!!! :yipee: What a wonderful Mother's day this will be for both you and your Mom! I'm very happy for you and your dh!!

Hello ladies :hi:

Angel you are not as curious as I am lol I can't wait to find out if you're having a girl or boy!! :haha: I have my fingers crossed for a girl since you don't mind what sex the baby will be!

I was diagnosed with osteo and fibro by 2 different rheumatologists and they both said I didn't have RA. The high risk OB is the only one who spoke about RA and it was worrying me a bit. She treats pregnant women who suffer from it but said she does not do the tests or diagnose it. I feel so relieved that since your mom had both then it is quite normal for me to have arthritis in my hands. The Ob did say that she didn't know anything about fibro. I will look for a fibro specialist to see if I can get any treatment options. It makes sense because humidity makes fibro flare up and it has rained for the past 4 days!! Today the sun came out and I feel some relief. Plus I have the dehumidifier on 24/7.

Ali that is interesting that the same meds that help with arthritis also help with Nk killer cells! That is one thing that the Ob didn't test for.

I bought some purple hyacinths for my mother-in law for Mother's day and the whole house has their scent :flower:

I think Ali and Jandk are right behind you Babywhisperer. I still have to wait because dh was tired this month and we didn't bd on the best days this month. He is kind of done trying naturally and has his mind set on donor egg and sperm. It is about the same cost as doing 2 cycles of ivf using my eggs with ICSI and he feels it is more of a sure thing since it covers as many cycles as needed to have a baby or our 30k back. I have been praying for the right decision. Dh told me I was ready to do the donor egg if I hadn't got pregnant naturally. Well the point is I did...!

Wishing all you ladies a wonderful Mother's day weekend! Happy Mother's day Grey Eyers, Angel and Philomena :flower:

I'm at the FS office right now.. had my lining check and my acupuncture. Waiting to get their decisions on my transfer time.
Looks like they are going to do the FET on Wednesday!!!
My lining looks wonderful its a triple line and was 10.4mm
They are working on a time but it sounds like it will be at 11:15am Wednesday.
Yippee! :yipee:

Hi everyone! I hope I am posting in the right spot. I've read through a few pages and send hugs to everyone :)

I've been looking for a place to get some feedback- feeling soo crazy these days! I feel like I might be pregnant but I have so many odds against me..

Some background: I just turned 37 in march. I have a son who just turned 18 years old in April. I have PCOS, hypo thyroid but it just went hyper for the first time ever. Was told I have fibro- years ago I was told I had fibroids and at one time polyps on my cervix. Few months ago GYN did my exam and said I was fine but didnt check on the fibroids.. I have had some crazy doctor- One told me SAan gives you pain and gave me bible quotes as treatment.. others tell me about my PCOS- what's the rush it's not like you're bleeding.. and my thyroid was left untreated for 15 if not more years.
Recently I started taking Metformin for PCOS and they just saw that Im pre diabetic. Im also on thyroid meds, vit D and B12.. magnesium also. SO since working on my thryroid and PCOS I started getting Af more often- the norm for me was as little as twice a year to 4 times a year.
For now I'll go back to Feb. I was having really bad pains- the doctor thinks it could have been a MC- really early. Said there was no test that can be done to confirm that early.. But I didnt have a normal AF ( feb 2nd) It was different pain then again in March the doc thinks I had another very early MC.. Very little bleeding (march 11th) way more pain though and all the cramping and tender breast stopped right after the episode I had in the bathroom- I never bleed fully just when I wiped ( sorry if this is TMI)
then I avoided relations with hubby most of April cause I didnt know what was going on with me and April 14 had a normal AF.
A friend of mine found out she was preggers and gave me all these O test she didnt need any more. So I started using them to see if I even O. I wasn't constant about using them- Just when I remembered to and was not getting positives. The one day bam two dark lines.. Me and hubby had resumed regular relations by this point so we DTD when I was fertile. Also since I have been on Metformin and thyroid meds I have been feelong when I O. Didn;t know what this was at first lol. I usually could feel pain in my oveires but I started getting breast pain and such and things I never felt before.
Now this last time around I got sore breast and such when O but a few days after the whol breast pain wasnt so bad anymore but my nipples really started to hurt and itch. The itching comes and goes but the pain has been non stop. (it's been a week if not more since the positive O) I didnt keep track cause I was just using the test out of curiosity. I think I should get AF the 11th or 14th. So far I have only had mild cramps come and go and they are a little higher then where they usually are for me. My nipples have been out of this world tender and painful.. and out of nowhere I can't get enough cottage cheese. I havent had cottage cheese in years. Last night after having two helpings already I snuck into the kitchen to eat some more lol- trying not to wake anyone 1 30 in the AM. Also I have to pee all the time.. This came out of no where- I wake up in the middle of the night to pee- I go then 10 min later Im back in there. and I cant get enough sleep. I have fatigue issues to begin with but it's gotten worse all of a sudden.

I do know cause of my PCOS that if I take a HPT it might take a while to show a positive. I was only 18 when I got pregnant with my son but I was past 8 weeks till a positive showed up with him. So I haven't even tried yet.
It would be amazing if I was but for my recent medical issues has left us broke- SO I would feel guilty about having a baby now. Then again Im getting up there in age as far as baby making is concerned.. I got married in 2020 and my husband has no biological children so he would be ecstatic.

So I just dont know if my body is still just doing weird things since it's trying to regulate itself or could I be pregnant? Also normally this close to when I should be getting AF I usually have major cramps. And so far just little ones here and there- also my lower back in killing me.

Sorry this was so long and a bit all over the place!

should have proof read through that sorry! lol

Hi qe76,

Welcome!

I would suggest testing! What do you have to lose? The tests now are much more sensitive and might give you a positive. If you aren't pregnant (hopefully you are), I would suggest trying to chart your cycle, there are things you can do to do that, like BBT (temping), OPK (ovulation tests) and simply getting a count of when things happen. For example how long after your period do you ovulate? How long from that point until you get your period? These things are helpful in determining if your cycle is on track, and will help you to decide if/when to test!

Good luck!

thank you for your thoughts! I think Ill wait till at least after the 14th. It's so weird not knowing my body anymore now that it's trying to work properly. Im driving myself crazy trying to figure out every little symptoms and feelings lol
