Babywhisperer- I too have gestational diabetes.. Thank you so much for the referral.. I don't think it had anything to do with Dr. S skill.. bc it was the worst cycle... but something rocked... We heard the heartbeat and I am now 7 weeks....

Melly- How are you doing?

Hi all!

I'm sorry it was the worst cycle hun. What do you think made the difference then in 1 round with Dr S and getting prego? Did he do anything different?

I'm so happy you heard the heartbeat, isn't amazing!! My husband and I cried we were so overwhelmed. How are you feeling so far?

We are starting to talk about baby #2. Might try naturally a couple of months and then go see Dr S. again since it worked so well last time.

We call Jack the Dali Lama. He's super chill, happy and super easy. So far my sister-in-laws pregnancy has been good, she wasn't feeling great but I think she's past that now at 16/17weeks.

How is everyone else??

Hi Sam: I'm happy to hear from you and that you're pregnancy is progressing. I'm on week 8 now. I had a scare last week when I started to bleed. It is a subchorionic hematoma. I stopped taking fish oil and it now appears to be dissolving, so that's good news. As a result, I've had three ultrasounds, so I see the little bean often. The baby is growing with a strong heartbeat.

Babywhisperer- He did the coculture and I had a hysteroscopy before the ivf cycle. We also did a micro flare Lupron protocol, but that didn't help as I only produced 2 eggs. Good luck with your next cycle!

Melly- So excited for you. Glad the scare is over. I am also 8 weeks. We are on the same timeline. My due date is Jan 8th. You? I have been transferred to my regular ob/gyn...but don't have an appointment yet! How about you?

Hi Samsfan, I think I'm due around Jan 6th. I'm still working with my RE and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor the hematoma. I'm still trying to decide midwife/OB doctor. I wanted to do a natural birthing center, but with my hematoma my doctor thinks I should work with an OB that also has a midwife. The problem with that is that I would have to birth in a hospital, and I really don't want that. So, I guess my first appointment may not be for another couple weeks until I decide what we're doing here.

Melly--- I also wanted a midwife, but I'm nervous about it. I had an appointment today. I'm registering 8 weeks 5 days. I'm due January 8th. My next appointment is in 2 weeks for genetic testing. Let me know what you do with the midwife.

Thank you, Wobbles! It will be nice to chat with other women who can understand the difficulties of trying to conceive later in life. I am new to this forum, but I can already sense that I will fit in here just fine.

I'm a 41-year old mom of a three-year old. My husband and I are TTC a second child, but secretly - we haven't told friends or family that we're trying, so I've had no one to talk to about this. It's been a difficult and emotional journey so far because I got pregnant so easily the first time - this time, not so much. This is month 4 and the disappointment gets worse with every month no matter how much I tell myself not to give up hope. I think a community like this one is exactly what I need - a group of people who understand what I'm going through! I look forward to getting to know you, and reading about your journeys with TTC.

Hello ladies,
My temp dropped this morning so I am sure I am out now. But it must not be meant to be because I went home today and got some information that has turned my life upside down. My middle son girlfriend is pregnant. Doesn't it just feels like it's not meant for it to happen for me. Last time I was trying my oldest son girlfriend got pregnant and my grandson is now 1 1/2 years old. So I guess that is God trying to tell me something. My heart is broken and I am so stressed and confused right now. I will stay on just to keep in touch with you lovely ladies and enjoy all the BFPs.

Brighteye: Sorry about the temp drop. I'm sure there is a flood of mixed emotions with this news about your son. It's funny, because I was looking at your age in the signature and noticed you were younger than me, and I feel barely old enough to be a mom let alone a grandma. ;-) We just started trying when I was 36.

Sam: How are you doing? My last ultrasound was really good and showed a healthy fetus with no hematoma. Thank god! Hope your pregnancy is going smoothly! Say 'hello' to all the other ladies for me!

Did it take others a long time to conceive around this age?

AF left me last night. I finally got to break in my fertility monitor by POAS. Low fertility. Not unexpected, but if I O again on CD9, I would expect the monitor to pick something up tomorrow. We shall see. I also had a weird temp spike today. Don't know what that's about.

High fertility reading this morning. Looks like it's going to be another early ovulation for me. At any rate, time to get in some BD!

It really depends on the woman. My friend got prego her 1st weekend of trying and she had 2 mc's before having her 1st. She's due with #2 in Sept, and she's 39. My SIL is 42 and expecting her first, tried for 2 mos. Your age doesn't tell the full story, get your AMH and FSH and so on done.

Thanks so much for the support! I'm kind of partial to Florida myself....but it's the only place I've ever lived. Jacksonville is definitely progreesing.

As far as my TTC journey...I just stopped the pill a week ago and still haven't had a visit from AF. I've been sleeping horribly and having bouts of being hot and cold all night. I suppose it is going to take my body a little while to get used to functioning on its own again. Been on the pill for a very long time and continuously (no inactives) for a few years now. Hopefully things will be functioning properly soon and I'll get a visit from AF so that I can start charting things.

Hello ladies, I am 38, turning 39 in Nov. I am back in the TTC pool, going for my 1st round of IUI again. It worked so well last time, but I had 3mos of acupuncture and herbs leading into it. We'll see how this round goes.
