Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi! Hard to believe that I am here after almost 4 years :). Our son will be 4 next month and hubby and I have been ttc for two years. It took us about a year and a half with our son so I knew the second time around would be just as long if not longer. I will be 37 in August and hubby is 42 not sure if our Biological clocks are just against us. I have had my exams, ultra sounds, and blood work all seem to be ok. My husband has had low t but we think he his hormones have been normal he is waiting to get a sa and I am debating if I need to see a fertility specialist to make sure my tubes are not blocked. I am here to get advice , guidance , and support.

Welcome, babypatel! Join us down below in the active threads! GL to you! :flower:

Hi all, I used to come on here a few years ago, but have taken time out to lose weight and get healthy before trying again. I have now lost 11 stones (around 154 lbs) and feel great.

Last cycle I decided to just see how my body worked again as I had an implant taken out. It was a 35 day cycle. This time around, it looks like I'm ovulating today, which shows exactly the same day as last cycle, which is a good sign.

I will be 40 in July and my Hubby turned 40 last year. Fingers crossed this is our year to get pregnant.

Congrats to those of you who are pregnant and positive thoughts to those of you who are trying. xxx

Sorry , although not new to fertility struggles I'm over 35 and were trying again . Not sure where to post or where fit in ? Thanks in advance

Aah!! I still feel so young! But every where I go; I'm being told it's going to be hard. New to ttc. Healthy, active, good weight, eat smart and consciously. Very regular cycle, 26 days, with little to no symptoms - breast tenderness and tend dislike my body a week or so before AF! Found myself with unusual(for me) cramping, pulling tugging sensation in ovaries 4dpo. Still have waves of slight cramping at 9dpo. Very mild nausea, appetite is going up and down, when its down is when I get nauseous. I just feel like I'm pregnant, but then a more rational part of me says I'm totally imagining it. I just don't understand how my body - which I am usually very in tune with, is throwing me for a loop. Now? When I decide to ttc. 5 days until I'm expecting AF, and this wait is killing me. :(

Anyone else feeling like this? OR had similar issues with VERY regular cycle and symptoms....?

Oh yes the body can play nasty tricks...hang in there and stay busy. Try not to symptom spot as it will drive you crazy. I would test 12dpo but that's just me.

AF due today, 14 dpo and tested this morning, still BFN. I'm totally symptom spotting and can't figure out if what I'm feeling is normal (and I never paid attention as I wasn't ttc) or if i am getting symptoms. Grrr...never realized how this would affect me. I'm usually a very chill, laid back, let the chips fall where they may kinda person!

TTC over 35 is not for the faint of heart! Welcome to the crazy train. Because it is happening in our bodies, it is nearly impossible to ignore all the twinges and pains and not read into them. As you continue you will begin to see patterns, that helps some, but there will always be little things your body does that are impossible to discern. Time will always tell, though! Good luck to you. :flower:

Im 35 and have 9 year old twins (conceived naturally). I have not been pregnant at all since the twins were conceived and I don't know if I am just going crazy and making myself feel every symptom or may actually be pregnant

I O'd around the 16th (tested high with opk's) and have had mild cramping and tugging since. I felt very bloated and had that full feeling where I couldn't even suck in my stomach if i tried and mildly sore breasts. I am so hoping to be pregnant but worried that these were not signs i was pregnant at all. i'm currently 4 days late and AF has not arrived yet. I am having some mild cramping again today and dreading that it may be AF :( I took a FRED this morning with FMU and it was negative
I have also been dreaming every night, which i havent done in a really long time......AM I CRAZY or Does it sound like I may be pregnant, are these cramps normal to have now 4 days late or not?

PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am in the same boat. 35 yo and ttc I feel like I am just willing myself to have all these symptoms and am not terrified that AF is coming because i've had some mild cramping today....currently 4 days late for AF

Maybe - after the last two weeks I am the wrong person to ask!
I'm out! AF literally just came. It's so funny(not really!)....I had a sleepless night, and being late, this was, in my mind, another symptom! Wow, well this was my first month ttc and I am a little wiser now. No doubt I will be symptom spottingnext cycle; my plan is just to make a note of everything, and see if there's a pattern. My mind is officially blown by the trickery of my body. I never get cramps, super regular cycle, sometimes sore breast, but otherwise the only way I know that AF is coming is my calendar. I have my opk's now and a little more sense. Trying to be positive and not too disappointed :/

Wishing you luck - hope she stays away!

Hi I'm new.... 35... one child who is 4

My mom went through early menopause at age 36 and I'm honestly terrified...I've worried that it would hit me young too since my late teens...which is nuts bc an 19 year old shouldnt even be considering menopause.

I suffered 4 miscarriages throughout my 20's and was convinced I couldn't carry to full term... but then my daughter proved me wrong....

Now my daughter is from a previous relationship and my husband and I now want a baby (he has no previous children and us 31)

I haven't been online since this last post, but unfortunately AF arrived a total of 7 days late. Unbelievable that I was convinced I was pregnant i am never late, and had every symptom except for morning sickness. i too feel like I was just willing it... How did it turn out for you

HI! Don't stress yourself, easy for me to give advice that I won't take myself lol How long have you been TTC? I have 9 year old twins from my previous marriage and am now TTC with my partner who has no children of his own and am terrified that its not happening

Not great! And this cycle's another weird one for me. AF came 7 days early!!! I was so excited when I got what seemed to be spotting at 7dpo. Then positive opk on last day of AF. Oh well...

Mind officially blown.

Hi everyone,

I only just joined today and thought I'd say hello here as well.

I'm almost 38  and have one daughter, she'll be five next month. Finally felt ready to start trying for #2, although to be honest I would have been ready a couple of years ago but my OH has taken some convincing!

Really hope we haven't left it too late.. Although both my grandmothers had their last babies in their 40s (at 40 and 44), so I hope I have it in my genes!

This is now our second month of trying. I think I might have had a chemical pregnancy last month, not 100% certain as we were away on hols at the time so couldn't confirm it. My AF is due next week and trying my best not to test until I'm officially late - if that ever happens of course.

Welcome, dimmu! Many, many women are able to have babies without assistance in their late 30s, so don't assume the worst! Be positive & take good care of yourself. There are supplements some ladies swear by and yoga, meditation, acupuncture, etc. can also be helpful. Then there's always the "big guns" that reproductive endocrinologists (fertility specialists) use. Hopefully, you won't need that, but it's there if you do. There's no reason why you can't get pregnant and have a healthy baby! Good luck to you!
