Yes, you can have lh surges even if the tube is blocked. BUT on a positive note the egg released during ovulation only comes from the one ovary--not eggs from both each month-- so you are in no way crippled here. So I am glad you are staying positive! You only need one ovary/open tube to ovulate and conceive

AFM- feeling good today! We have our gender/growth ultra sound tomorrow So I will know if I should shop for baby boy or baby girl

I would love to have a boy this time around but it is all in God's hands. I will be overjoyed at either boy or girl! It is at 2 p.m. Idaho (MST) time tomorrow.

now I just have to wait until Monday! All of this waiting, is going to drive me bonkers!!

OHH.. good luck tomorrow with your test, that is very exciting!!! Can't wait to hear what you are having!!! YAY!!

As for spicy food, I really don't know anything about it, I steer clear of it, messes with my tummy.. but hey.. if you are craving it, then go for it!!

Tiatammy- yes, it sounds like CD17 to me also- no other way to view it! So he must have been confused somewhere--please don't get too frustrated, I know it is hard, especially when your doc isn't all that clear about things. Alicatt is going in for her x-ray tomorrow for pre-IUI. Sounds like routine from what I can tell as far as getting things set for IUI.

Hi grey eyes hope all is well with you and you had a good night, as for me I qwas very restless finally got to sleep, but am still upset about the charting thing and this doc. telling that I couldnt be on cd 17, well I looked again this morning and it is still coming up the same. OOOH how I wish I could sent my chart, I dont know anything about fertility friend and how to chart it or even attach it to this to let you see, Is it a free sight or do you have to pay for it? All this computer stuff is new to me, so I just started getting the hang of getting on here to post and all that comes along with it. HUGS HUGS FRIENDS

Fertility Friend www.fertilityfriend.com has a free membership for basic stuff. It gives you options- you enter the date, your temperature, then it will tell you after however many days if you are Ovulating, etc, you can also include cm and symptoms for it to measure for you. Sort of takes the guess work out On the site itself it has a button you click to "share" and once you do that it gives you a link to post. Then you can add the link to your signature here on bnb. Phew! Longwinded

Does anybody know anything about eating spicy foods in pregnancy?? I have heard stories about it causing labor in late pregnancy but sort of feel that is an old wives tale... I have not done any major study but read that tobasco is safe,e tc...and lately I have been craving cayenne on everything...

Spicy foods are fine...although it might cause a little indigestion! When I was preggo with my son I ate a lot of potato chips with tobassco sauce! Yummie!!

So when do you find out what you are having? Is that soon?

Nothing stupid about it- I asked all these questions too when I first got started! Heres how to do your signature on bnb...

Click the "User CP" tab (upper right corner near "Log Out" tab)
Your Control Panel (left corner)...scroll down to :
"Settings & Options".......scroll to
"Edit Signature" click that tab.

This will take you to an open box entitled "Edit Signature". You type in whatever signature you want---if you are on Fertility Friend they will issue you a link to "share" your chart. You copy this link and just enter it into your "Edit Signature" box. Then click "Save Signature" at the bottom of the box. Voila!

Hope this helps! Then I'll try to remember how to get the link from FF.........

Morning All,

So I went in for my test this morning. First off I had to wait almost 30 minutes, then I get in there and he can't insert the catheter, apparently my cervix is slammed shut! LOL! So he says, drink some water and we'll be back. Well drinking some water meant 40 oz! EEK! I felt like I was going to float away! Finally he came back and was able to insert the catheter and we could do the procedure. OMG was it uncomfortable! I would not like to do that again. Plus at the end he tried to force the dye into one of my tubes, and that REALLY hurt.
On top of all of that I got some not so great news My right ovary is still missing, and my right tube is blocked. At least the left tube and ovary are in working order! So now we have to hope that there are some follicles on the left ovary so we can proceed with the IUI next week. Now I have to wait until Monday before we can check my ovary to see if there are any follicles. UGH.

I'm sorry you had a rough go of the test, but at least now you have more information.... Thankfully you shouldn't have to go through that again, and One open tube and working ovary on the same side is better than none, by far! I think of you often and hope things go easily from here on in...
At least with this extra information, you can adjust your gameplan accordingly... it only takes one egg and one open tube for IUI to work... it will all be ok!

yay for your scan! I'm so excited for you!!
And BTW I think you can eat spicy food if you like it and you want it... I can't imagine why it would induce labour, except that it clears out your gut and sometimes women experience that right before going into labour (or try to induce themselves with the mineral oil cocktail which does the same thing)... but I've never heard of spicy food being off limits in pregnancy.

Thanks Phil! I'm trying to stay positive, and you are correct, I do have one ovary and one tube (both on the same side) that are looking really good! That is definitely better than none! My issue is that if I don't have any mature follicles on my left ovary then we have to skip this month, and I won't be able to try again until Aug/Sept. BOOHOO. So I'm really hoping that it does happen this month! Thanks for thinking of me, and I hope you are doing/feeling well!

I managed to set up my FF account. I've shared it in my signature. Tia.. it was not intuitive, took me a while to figure it out.
