Hi ladies,
Im going to poke my nose in here
I'm 36 TTC for 13 months now, and seemingly have unexplained fertility issues (although have not been tested for blocked tubes - that's next step). Currently I am seeing an FS and have been put on 25mg's of Fertomid (to try for 4 months) just to try and sort any potential hormone blips that there might be because everything else looks good!
Annnnd sadly our frist round didn't work (boo hiss! WHY NOT!! We BD'ed like rabbits!!) so am on CD6 now and on second bout... lets hope this works because I was crushed with disappointment when my AF came on Friday.
35 years of NEVER wanting kids, and now deciding to try. Blargh!! Who knew it's not as easy as just shtooping and WHAM it happens eh?
Hating this whole experience, everyone around me is pregnant or want to be in a competition with you to BE pregnant (WHAT?!) and this whole BD'ing thing on a clock is no damn fun!! "Honey I know your granny just died but I think I'm ovulating so roll over"
Just need to rant a bit!
Kthanksbye and good luck ladies!!![]()

Hey Snooklepoodle.. I'm another success story! I'm 40, single and wanted a baby, and I'm now almost 6 weeks
Trust in your fertility specialist, and get them to run the tests.
Things they should do:
1) hormone levels (usually cycle day 3) and an AMH
2) do a spermanalysis on your DH/BF
3) tube test
4) ultrasound to check ovaries, and uterus for any abnormalities
I'm sure some of this has been done prior to them putting you on a medication. By the way what is that medication? I've never heard of it!
Once you have the results from the tests, your FS should be able to give you a good idea of what the issue is. Then you guys can decide how far you are willing to go. Hopefully you issues are not asas mine and you can get pregnant without too much intervention!

hi snooklepoodle I am surprised they haven't checked your tubes already, I was also diagnosed with unexplained infertility after ttc for 6 years and after my bloods came back as ovulating regular, they checked my tubes which were clear and dh swimmers were good so I was prescribed 50mg of clomid and I conceived on 1st cycle with them, this must have kick started my fertility as went onto conceive naturally after that.
I cant see how they can give u a diagnosis of unexplained infertility if not checked your tubes.
I have now been ttc again for 21/2 years and if I am not pg this month I will be starting tests again next week.
Ali my spotting seemed to have stopped but still bfn this morning, boobs still sore and felt nauseous this morning, going to get a first response this afternoon.
AFM - Aunt Flo came to visit at 2am last night. Hah! Clearly this means that I'm not preggo, but I was quite sure that I wasn't. HOWEVER...I'm still thrilled because this was a 29 day cycle for me!!! Yippeee!! I'm practically a normal woman again. I went from 3.5 years between cycles (thanks to distance running, but I wasn't TTC either), to 6 months, then 65 days, then 45 days, then 35 days last month and FINALLY 29! The magic number I was shooting for. Now...we won't have to wait so darn long to hit that crucial timing. ;-)
