Officially joined fertility friend and entered last month's observations. Starting temping in the morning with my new Mabis purple thermo, should be grand. Anyone know if it's okay to temp vaginally in the bathroom when I wake up? Does it really matter if I run to the bathroom or will it be inaccurate? I decided to temp vaginally bc I've read it is more reliable and I sleep with my mouth open. Anyone have any advice for a first-timer??

Wish AF would just show already so that I can start fresh and make me a baby.

Morgan- Yes it will make a difference. You should do it laying in bed. First thing once your eyes open. I was doing mine orally and switching to vag helped me a lot!

Amanda- I don't have a seperate ob/gyn. My general practice doctor is also ob/gyn so she did my exams. I talked to her about my issues and she pretty much just said lose weight.

Morgan- yeah it will mess with the temp. My alarm goes off at 6am and I grab my thermometer right away to temp. I run to the bathroom after cause I usually have to pee pretty badly

Morgan - i did feel intense pain yda whihc i think was ovulation..not sure tho...its just last for ard half hr...havent felt it after tht as yet ...and yes as the other girls have already told u ..getting up and goin to the bathroom will most defnitely affect the temps...now tht uve started temping hopefully ull at least b able to figure out wats goin on in a fresh cycle...

Nichole - i go to an ob/gyn and hes the one who prescribes my clomid...uve mentioned tht your dr has said to lose wt but cant u ask her abt clomid...mainly bcos your not ovulating...and obviously u can continue working on your wt alongside???

Nikki - 1 week to go for your scan...so happy for u

AFM - sleep broke around an hr an half before the alarm this morning...however i didnt get outa bed nor talk...temped and went bak to sleep...got up again with the alarm and temped again...which of the 2 temps shud i register????

use the first temp, sonia, and check the "discarded" box. then you can have the temp in your chart, with an open circle, and if in a couple days it looks "normal", you can add it back in. if it doenst look right in a couple days, just leave it as an open circle. make sense?

oh ok makes sense...i actually tried a bbt adjustor calculator...i know u shudnt really use those but the temp it came was kinda wat i was expecting...but ill report the first temp and store the other one in the notes for later...thank you

Rachel- You definitely could still catch your egg. I've read way too many stories about women who only had sex 5 days before O'ing and still got their BFP! It can happen, and the egg is supposed to live like 12 hours after O so you are definitely still in!

Ashlee's wedding was BEAUTIFUL, the weather was perfect- she looked AMAZINNNNG and the sangria was deliiiicious- glad I let myself indulge in an alcoholic beverage for the first time in FOREVER! lol.

Amanda- Where are you at in your cycle? Are you taking the NTNP route? Getting any BD'ing in? FX for you!

Nichole- I really hope this cycle isn't annovulatory for you hun, I also say clomid might be good to look into and if all your normal doc. will tell you is to lose weight- maybe look into a different doctor specializing in fertility treatments? Not O'ing as often as you do would suck I hope your egg is just cooking up extra strong and you see that positive OPK here shortly!!!

AFM, CD 4 here. Soooo interesting If fertilitea keeps me regular like it has the past 2 months then I should be O'ing on CD12. 4 days after DH's surgery. Gonna try to get him to BD the day before so if he's not feeling up to it afterwards I may have the sliiiiiiightest chance. But we will see. We just want some answers and for him to start feeling better. Unfortunately they said it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get results back from his biopsy. SUCH a long wait Thank you all for the congrats btw!

DH and I talked about it and we are going to try until the 1st of the year with the weight loss strategy. Since we are still paying off DH's doctor bill from his cancer and we just bought a new car, we probably couldn't afford going to a specialist atm. If nothing has changed by Dec/Jan, we will go see a doctor.

I might look into how much going to an ob/gyn and getting clomid will cost. If a Kaiser will cover a good chunk of it, I might go soon.

Thanks dear! I was actually going to suggest that the other day - BD the day before surgery just in case, since sperm can live several days. FX if you guys do go that route.


Cannot wait for this 2ww to be over with haha. I'd much rather be waiting for scans, doctor appointments, prepping for another baby than waiting for symptoms that may or may not come lol.

Sonia-I hope you O'd!

Morgan-Yay for AF! Hopefully your will start having more regular cycles and your temps will tell you that you are for sure Oing. I would agree that even temping vaginally you should do it as soon as you wake, before you get out of bed. I temp vaginally also and it helped my erratic temps so much. I still have random spikes and dips, but it's much better than it used to be!

Nichole-I would suggest finding a gyno who specializes just in gyno/ob. All I did was call my gyno and tell her I wanted to test my levels. I had my blood drawn (no actually apt at this time). When prog came back low she met with me and we planned a course of action together. She approved me for clomid whenever I wanted it. I tried on my own for a few months to regulate it. I only go for cd21 bloodwork each month to test prog levels. I called today after getting my levels and said I was ready. She called it in. I've only been in for my initial pap and then to discuss prog levels. Other than that she has just talked over the phone. I only pay my copay when I go in and then about $25 per blood draw. You shouldn't have to go as far as an RE at this point. I would find someone you feel supports you. Maybe just set up an initial apt with a gyno right now to get your foot in the door and get to know them. Just a suggestion!

Cassidy-Lol AF is due Fri, so I won't test unless I have no spotting by cd13. Prog was low though, so I doubt very seriously there is even a chance of a bfp.

I'm anxious for you guys to get some answers too! I hate that you have to wait so long to get results...hopefully you guys can still fit some bding in though!


AFM-My progesterone was 4.7 this month... (2.9 the 1st month and 6.9 last month, gyno wants 10 to confirm O), so it was low just as I predicted. I called my doc and she went ahead and put the prescription in for clomid. I will start with 50mg cd5-9. I'm a little disappointed, but not surprised. As long as it gets us a baby, I'm ok with it! AF is due Fri and I'm sure she'll show, so just waiting for the new cycle...
