Exactly. I smoke bud everyday. I do. Have for quite some time now. Not because I'm addicted. I could stop any time and I have. I smoke because it helps me deal with my emotions better. I'm not as big of a bitch, I'm more tollerant open and friendly. I've smoked all kinda of bud and smoke a new strand almost every week. Pre sold joints can have pretty much anything in them.
Besides that I never said that EVERYONE will act this way. I said that it's more than likely how some one would respond. When you smoke THC it slows the receptors in your brain. So a simple activity of trying to get off the couch to use the restroom is like a push pull in your brain. Your mind is saying you need to pee but your body is saying it's so far away! Hahaha.

And I'm going to leave it at that because I don't need people that have no idea who I am and that have no importance in my life judge me.

i really don't see the need for people to be personally attacking you, even if you're the only one whose said they smoke weed everyday. it isn't necessary.
it's one thing to say you disagree with it .. its different entirely to personally attack someone.
It'd be different if she said she were smoking it in front of/in the house with her LO being exposed to the smoke, but as far as we all know, she's not.

i can only speak for me but i would kick him out for the night if he came home pissed! we made an agreement when i was pregnant that we wouldn't be near oli if we were drunk. but that's us... i was only ever talking about kicking someone out for the night, not for good.

Thats totally fair enough. I don't agree with being intoxicated around babies either, I just see a lot of hypcrisy when it comes to weed. I guess I'm just a really dedicated and passionate stoner at heart

Personally, I would drink one beer, and look after my child. because one beer would not personally affect me. I'd imagine if I was a weed smoker, smoking one joint would be very similar.

As for the OP I would talk to him when you are both in a better frame of mind. I have smoked weed in the past as has DH I personally didnt like the effect of some of it and wouldnt do it now, but have no problem if DH wanted some as long as it wasnt around the kids.

i have a rich history when it comes to substances shall we say, and i abused alcohol for a long long time (in fact i'm only just beginning to realise quite how ridiculous my drinking was, and i've not had one since jan 2010). i totally understand your viewpoint and i've never understood the legalities when alcohol is much more devastating, both health wise and socially. but neither are any better than the other when you're responsible for a child in my opinion. really makes me think of that streets song when this topic pops up!

obviously some have seen awful things happen through drugs and drink alike, but i also know people that live work normal lives whilst smoking it, don't get me wrong i'm not justifying it saying its ok, when everyones said its illegal etc but if you don't understand it fully or the situation you cant pass such hard jugdement can you really?

This is the last post that I will put on this thread. As some are just unreal.
I actually do run. I'm just a normal person. Moving isn't an option because we just poured 3 grand in back taxes to the house to try to save it. I just turned the upstairs into a studio. I don't hate the house. It's just hard to be here a lot of the time.
I actually don't drive after a smoke with my son in the car. I wait a while till I'm ready to head out to the store or what have you.
I think it's just so nuts how some people are so quick to judge. Asking innocent questions that have emoticons with rolling eyes. It's whatever though. I do what I do and I'm not an idiot about it. I make sure my son is safe and happy. I'm not any less of a mother just be cause I smoke. I'm not any less of a person either.
You can have your own experiences and automatically think that you're an expert in thr situation, but you're not. And niether am I. I just know my own reactions and my own day to day experences. If I'm wrong in your eyes then so be it. But I sleep very well at night and wake up to a happy healthy baby.

Honestly i think is incredibly stupid, irresponsible and down right dangerous to smoke weed and do any "normal" activity, and that includes taking are of others and driving.

and honestly driving while high IS disgusting no matter how you look at it, if your going to smoke and put yourself in a dangerous situation whatever good luck to you...but to smoke and drive? thats as bad as drinking and driving and that KILLS people. like Rosa's friend lost her legs in a car accident....

....my best friend lost her LIFE. because some idiot decided that smoking weed and having a few drinks wouldnt affect him driving home from the pub.

he didnt seem to notice he was doing 70mph in a 30 zone, he also didnt seem to notice my best friends body bouncing off his windscreen.

and if ALL smoking weed does is make you lazy and sleepy and whatnot, then lets hope to god a fire doesnt start in your house while your passed out on the couch and your child is screaming in his crib.

because ultimatly, you doing your "fun" thing puts everyone else in a dangerous situation.

if people thought more about the REAL consequences of their actions less people would get hurt.

Do i have a problem with people smoking weed? no my roommate does it. I make him stay not just OUT the house but off the property, he isnt allowed to have it on the property full stop. He also only does it when he about to go to bed. he has no-one else to care for. he doesnt drive or even attempt to cook dinner after hes smoked a joint.

but to say that your capable of doing all this stuff, and then in the same post say how it makes you lazy and sleepy and giggly....thats normal is it? i certainly dont think so.

You know there are so many people that are not able to give up smoking cigarettes even though they have a child. Many of them even smoke indoors. I don't get why one person is being attacked for being honest about smoking marijuana. Arguably marijuana is a hell of lot healthier than smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol. I have never done drugs or smoked a cigarette in my life and never will, but i have always thought the government had their priorities mixed up when they made marijuana illegal and not cigarettes and alcohol.

Cigarettes are very addictive and is the cause of bad teeth, an increased risk in strokes, an increased risk of coronary heart disease, and above all lung cancer.

Marijuana is truthfully NOT an addictive drug. Not any more addictive than alcohol and many people (including me) know how to drink alcohol responsibly. Marijuana causes temporary memory loss, but so does alcohol. Above all else Marijuana does not have any serious health risks and is even used for medicinal purposes. Is tobacco EVER used as medicine??

I do agree that one should not do drugs (or drink, or smoke) around children though but do not feel people should be criticized for doing it. This is supposed to be a forum where people can come for help and if you are going to politely ADVISE other alternatives, then fine.

I grew up with pothead parents. Did it make them worse parents? Nope. Were they lazy people with no work ethic? Nope. Dad managed a bank and mom worked for Revenue Canada (they process all of the taxes for Canada). Did I miss out on anything as a result? Nope. My brother and I were in all kinds of extra-curricular activities that both of our parents always came to watch. They played with us (more than alot of my friends parents did). We always ate dinner as a family, went on picnics, vacation, etc. They made sure we did our homework and both my brother and I got good grades. We understood our parents smoked weed at a young age too and it didn't affect us badly. We're both in our 30's now with kids of our own.

Saying all that, I used to smoke alot of weed (I didn't start until I was almost 19, I didn't feel the need to try it sooner like some of my friends since it wasn't taboo for me). I still smoke the occasional joint now. Generally it's when I'm out to my Sunday night poker league and Clara's home getting in some Daddy time. I have smoked (outside) after Clara's gone to bed on the odd occasion too (New Year's Eve for example). Do I think it makes me a bad parent? Nope. Do I care what other people will think of me for admitting this? Nope.
