what if i fart during labor??

This thread has made me laugh!! I've had 4 babies and each time I was convinced that I hadn't pooped while pushing. My husband informs me that I did each time!! The midwife cleans it away so fast, that you don't even notice! And they see it with nearly every birth, so I won't be embarrassed if it happens this time! well..... much! lol

when i was in labour with my wee man they had 2 break my waters for me so i just lay in it so when i was farting i was farting bubbles...like when your in the bath. i just lay there and laughed lol

Ahahahaha- this brings back memories!!!

I had a 2nd degree tear after the birth of my DD that required stitching. My OB came in to assess the damage and work his magic... I was chatting away on a hormone high and while my OB was putting my stitches in I let fly. Not once, but a few times! I'd had an epidural and I don't really know where all the wind was coming from! I giggled my head off nervously and apologised saying 'It wasn't me. I didn't mean that.' (WTF???). My OB actually leaned back on his stool until he was sure I'd stopped. My hubby laughed so hard he cried and I was mortified.

I can laugh about it now though :)

This one did make me laugh out loud.... its hilarious....

I did poop last time... although i never knew about it your pushing and you really cannot differentiate about whats coming out where... it was my DH that told me about it later...i was scared of it happening but really in the end i never gave a stuff about it.

haha this has made me giggle sooo much. i just have visions of my farting in the midwifes face now haha. oh dear that would be embarrassing. x

For all those ladies who have a horrible MW - this might be your chance to get your own back :haha:

Take it from a labor nurse. It's no big deal, and we don't think twice about it.

ETA: I've had people fart, poop, vomit, even had one lady projectile pee on the Doc. As long as I don't get it on my hair or in my mouth we can be friends.

lol i dont think you'd care if you did, im more worried if i had a bowl movement, im sure they tell you to go b4 going to the hospital?.. but people ive spoken to say nothing mattes at the time of you giving birth

I did have a tiny BM right before i started pushing with my 1st baby. Yes, my doctor was a young male. Felt embarrassed for a second or so, i think he noticed that too; but honestly, they (doc's) have been exposed to all that for so long that they don't care.

I was worried about this with my first. Luckily, it didn't happen...but I'm not sure if I would've cared at the time if it did! Pretty sure the nurses and doc has seen it before lol!

Haha after reading some of the other posts on this thread, these ladies are right! There is no such thing as dignity during labor and delivery! I remember when DS came out, my OB just left my legs wide open in the stirrups for everyone who was rushing in and out of the room to see...I was laying there dazed and all I remember was my mom, who was standing at the heating table were DS was turning around and politely walking back over and pulling my gown down to cover up my lady bits! I knew I felt a breeze but it had never completely occurred to me that my hooha was on display to everyone who was rushing in and out the room at the time!

Then the doc came back to stitch me up and there was a student shadowing him and asking all sorts of questions and a nurse assisting him...so I just kept hearing all of this chatter from below...I felt like my lady garden was some type of sewing project for 3 people but at the time I was too out of it to care lol...
