Evening all

My baby is nearly 4 weeks and unknownigly today she was in the presence of another toddler who had chicken pox. Since my lo has been exposed to the toddler my worries have set in about my lo catching it. My lo is breastfed but I am still deeply distressed.

Those who had babies that have already had chicken pox how quickly did the symptoms appear after exposure?

If your child was breastfed, was he/she not affected?

Cant help im affraid but hope LO doesnt get it.
congrats on LO though x

I found this after googling:

When to contact your GP
It is very important that you contact your GP straight away, regardless of whether you have any symptoms, if:

you are pregnant and have been in contact with someone who has chickenpox
you have a weakened immune system (the body's defence system) and have been in contact with someone who has chickenpox
your baby is less than four weeks old and has been in contact with someone who has chickenpox

I would phone the doctors tomorrow just for some advice. x

Can't help much I'm afraid but I do know that chicken pox can take up to 3 weeks for the spots to appear.

Congratulations on your LO :) I don't have any advice for you, but I would ring the doctor as well and ask since your baby is so young.
