Would you give your under 5 a fizzy drink?

No way! I mean, what is the point? She does have some of my fizzy water sometimes though, weirdly she can't get enough of it.

This. Lizzie loves a swig of San Pellegrino

No way on fizzy drinks...and I only offer water, milk / oat milk, weakened fresh juice. No squash, no fizzy, no sugar free...

No I won't be giving Belle fizzy drinks for a while. Just don't see the need when she likes juice and it's a better option. I wouldn't mind her having a small glass of it though if she was at a birthday party or something. x

No, he drinks water and occasionally well diluted juice and we'll stick to those for as long as possible

DS had a taste of coke from my straw once when we were at lunch, cheeky boy! He hated it :haha:. But no I won't be giving DS a fizzy drink any time soon, there is no need and he enjoys milk, water and sometimes juice.

My eldest who is 4 has had a taste but I would not give her a glass or can of it, although earlier in the year she had a really bad vomitting bug and couldn't keep anything down so I gave her flat pop which is supposed to help rehydrate.

My middle son who is 3, is a drinks thief and he grabs anything he can get his hands on, I had to wrestle a can of fosters out of his hand at the jubilee party and my youngest is only 2 so he has never tried anything fizzy.

The only drink i ever drink really is coke... i know, i know. So theres always bottles of it laying around mine. Madi sometimes asks for some, i have no problem with her having a bit, because she always brushes her teeth afterwards. She much prefers apple juice and water and blackcurrent though.

Zach is a milkshake fiend and one picked up my Mcdonalds coke thinking it was his milkshake, he nearly threw up, so i think i can safely say he wouldnt drink it even if it was offered.

My nephew whos is Madis age, only drinks fizzy drinks, he wont drink juice or water, either fizzy or milk...

yes - she LOVES my diet tonic water

She also loves water, juice, milk, tea....Anything liquid she will drink

Jamie has had a very small lemonade once when we took him out as a treat to KFC. And a couple of sips or orange juice and lemonade mixed together.I would rather he didn't want fizzy drinks like coke. Tbh he is quite happy with juice and milk.

I wouldn't no, I do know people/friends that do though, personally for me I wouldn't like him to have it just yet xx

My LO stole my fizzy orange once and he giggled at the sensation on his tongue but didn't like the taste. He has tried it a couple of times since, but again just doesn't like the taste. That's fine by me, we rarely have it in the house anyway :)

Whenever we go into a shop Ivy runs over to the lucozade and shouts 'daddy's naughty juice!!' :haha:

I went on holiday abroad and we went all inclusive and I had no choice but to let my LO have fizzy drinks for the first 2 days. He refuses to drink water he hates it and the juices from the machines around the hotel were vile! They stained his teeth and tongue and he gagged on them..I couldn't stand to drink them either in all honesty..And our hotel rep bought us some juices from a supermarket close to where she was saying out of our hotel (there was no shops anywhere near our hotel and the hotel shop didn't stock any) but I wouldn't let him have coke he was only allowed Spite, and when I could I got him to drink hot chocolate but only one bar served that and only between certain hours, but it was that or nothing and in 36 degree heat - I chose that. He's not turned into a fizzy drink fiend and still prefers his juice, but next year we're going back to the same hotel and I'm taking a couple of bottles of concentrated squash for him.

Na... Although Alex has stolen some dregs of Irn Bru, we have never given her it deliberately, doesn't feel right. My gran thought nothing of giving my cousins LO (the same age at the time 2!!!!) some coke though  I couldn't say anything but I guess my grans knew Alex can't tolerate a lot. My cousin said nothing, even after top ups.

My 4 year old will have some watered down Cola every few days. He's not fussy about what he drinks and doesn't refuse water or milk when he's given it but if he asks I will sometimes give him some coke.

My 2 year old only gets given water and milk. I will sometimes get her a fruit shoot at softplay.

Yep. Not all the time but if I've got a can of diet coke and he asks for a sip ill let him.

No, shes hates fizzy things anyway after trying a sip of mine once, but if she liked them I still wouldn't let her have them unless it was sparkling water or something like that. I'd never give her tea either.

I don't know how it happened, but my child is a caffeine addict. If we're out somewhere and I have a coffee or a Diet Coke and I turn round for a second he'll drink it and enjoy it. I didn't even let him have any, he got addicted by himself. And now that he loves it yes I do very occasionally let him have a sip but not often, not every day, and certainly not more than a mouthful. I never thought I'd say that I was that sort of mum, but I guess I am.

I never let dd 4 have it and now that she goes to parties and is old enough to ask she hates it and isn't interested.ds isn't allowed to have it and I hope he hates it too.makes life a lot easier!i don't even have juice at home just milk and water so a juice or choc milk when wer out is a great for dd.ds2 hates juice so he just has water when out, milk at home.
On a side note,a friend of mine allowed her baby to have sips of coke from her straw at 6 months plus.he now loves coke and she can't have one without sharing with him(he just turned two,two days older than my ds).i think if u keep them away from it for as long as possible it may take them longer to start wanting it.im hoping mine don't want it til their teens!but if dd started asking for some I would let her have a small cup at birthday parties of Xmas but never on a daily basis
