Hi girls here my bump at 13w6d just at the beginning of second, look so small compared to all you girls lovely bumps , gets bigger through the day as I get bloated lol also my bmi says I am 30 which is obese does anyone think im obese ? I dont think im obese maybe overweight makes me sad to think im obese ! Also sorry for the nakedness !!

No way are you obese! You don't even look overweight. You look great! my BMI is also 30, and I do not think I am obese either, although I am overweight. Before the middle of last year I used to do a lot of activity (zumba and other latin dance), so I think muscle tone has a lot to do with it. Now what muscle I did have is turning to flab.

I have been following the first and second tri bump threads, but I am way too chicken to post a pic. I love to see all the beautiful bumps though!

I think BMI is such a crock of shit.. According to my BMI I am obese.. I just posted a bump pic above.. I don't think I am obese.. Chubby yes. lol

You don't even look chubby, you look tiny to me! I love your bump. I am so jealous. Why do people even use BMI anymore? It seems so outdated.

I really don't think your BMI is 30... I have a very similar body type as you and mine (before pregnancy) is 21.
Those online calculators that only use height and weight are very inaccurate. It must be measured properly by a doctor or certified personal trainer so that it can account for muscle mass, bone mass, water, etc. They use a specific machine that sends electric currents of some sort through your body (which is why they don't do it if there's a possibility of pregnancy), and also a special tool that pinches areas that may have fat (hips, upper arms, etc) to measure. If they did not use both of these things when they tested yours, then it's not accurate.

I think you can class BMI as overweight during pregnancy all the time anyways.

Feeling a bit stretched today and like all my insides are squashed under my ribs lol.

Regarding BMI, ignore it. It's outdated and so not accurate. I'm a size 10/12 (well more 12 in pregnancy) and no doubt my BMI is classed as overweight.

Even at my slimmest 8/10 last year prior to my surgery in Dec, I still had a high-ish BMI... It's ridiculous.

I don't think BMI is a fair measurement in pregnancy

Here is my 17 week pic Ive put on a stone since my bfp and now weigh 10 stone!! im only 5 4" so im guessing my BMI is not looking great but I feel quite a lot is water retention too plus my boobs have tripled in size ..... lovely bumps ladies!! Sooooooooooooo exciting!!! xxxxxxxxxxxx
