Oh bless her, I'm glad your talk went well. I kept reminding the boys that because of covid Santa is having trouble getting the materials to make some of the toys but those he can't bring you you can buy with your own money after Christmas or ask for for your birthday etc

Amazon order came today, got a few bits to get tomorrow and girls should be done unless i see anything else.

Had a special chat with DD2. She has asked for a Blue Bird Teddy (I've since worked out its a squishmallow) and it's out of stock/discontinued. I made up a total story about how santas factories and ours here can't make them anymore and maybe to ask for something else. She was fine and is going to send a letter with the elves saying she doesn't mind and would like happy hamsters (marble run) instead...phew. DD1 wouldn't be so understanding.

Awww bless your daughter, that sounds like a tough situation. Have you tried last looking on eBay for it?

I'm glad your talk to your daughter went so well and that she's ok with not getting the teddy she wanted. It can be so tricky when they really want something that we're unable to provide.

Baked Xmas cookies with my eldest today. It's actually the first time I've ever baked Xmas cookies and the first time making royal icing. I'm really pleased with how they turned out.

I have checked ebay , its been discontinued and I can't see them second hand. She wasn't that desperate for it so I'm glad she's okay with it. Thing is with DD2 is she wants everything she sees but never really really wants something if that makes sense.
My eldest will wait for things or save up but DD2 will just move on to the next.

Same here.! Hoping to start wrapping next week and I'm waiting for the school Christmas cards but they're not due back until the 10th eeek. I'm sure we'll get some parents complain, but it's because we waited for late payers. May have to be stricter next year.

We baked the rest of the Xmas cookies yesterday, and then We had snowball fights this morning.
Not real snow as it's summer here and never snows, but I bought snowball making kits (actually for their Xmas stockings but hey ho) and so we mixed up the mixture and had a snowball battle outside. It was so much fun!
