30-somethings TTC #1 Testing and Support Thread!

Hi everyone, feeling a little better today CD2, although AF doesn't seem to be going to last the usual 5 days.

Had a talk with OH and was thinking of going to the Doctors this month, we went to see him before we started TTC and he advised giving it 6 months and then going back if we hadn't had any joy. We are now on our 8th cycle, but I am a bit concerned that the Doc will just tell us to go away until we have been trying for 12 months, I hate doctors at the best of times and finding it realy hard to get up the courage to make an appointment.

Welcome asteri and Eliza12 - your dates have been added. Hope the 6th is a lucky day for both of you!

Hey Ejay - good luck with making the appointment. Doctors are never that much fun...but if he told you to come back after 6 months, surely he can't turn around and say come back after 12 months? I hope not - that would be frustrating. I know 12 months is still a normal amount of time for a couple to TTC, but it's hard when we are in our 30s isn't it - it doesn't feel like there is lots of time to 'waste', and if there is something that need to be corrected then I know I would rather find that out sooner rather than later! Do you have a good relationship with your Dr? Hopefully he is understanding and helpful.

Me and my OH spoke about going to the Dr when it gets to six months...this is month 5 for us. But I am worried as well they will just say to wait til 12 months....

Not saying that this isn't a worry for people in their 20s - I am sure it is - but I feel I have this pressure which I try to ignore that tells me if I want more than one child (which I do) I need to get a move on.

On the other hand - my Mum had my youngest brother at 38 and everything was perfect!

Hope everyone is doing well! xx

Yup, I think that being in our 30s means our biological clocks are ticking MUCH MORE LOUDLY - like a bomb :haha: So we are in our rights to be anxious!

I get some reassurance from the fact that my sister had two young boys after turning 37.

LuckyD - I was totally just kidding when I wrote that this thread is interfering with my determination to take a bnb break :winkwink: I can't resist these 30 something threads - y'all are my peeps!

Ejay - really hope the doctor's appointment goes well. LuckyD - hope you don't have to consider making an appointment ; P

Yes, Jaimie, that's it exactly - like a friggin' BOMB! I swear I physically felt it when my body started wanting a baby...and that was a loooooong time ago.

Welcome to all the new ladies!

I wish doctors wouldn't make us wait a year. That's an eternity! I'm ready for some testing NOW.

I saw my dr in March and she told me to come back in June for testing which will be 6 months since we've REALLY been trying which still seems like forever away!!

on a side note I just bit my DH's head off for asking me what I was doing on the computer...I fear PMS symptoms have began :(

Oh, I hope it's not PMS bonjo - just the normal husband-grumpiness which we all get!

That is great your dr told you to come back when it's been six months...but six months feels like forever, doesn't it!

How are y'all doing today?

I am waiting to start BDing - I am doing the SMEP again so tomorrow is the first day.

Hi all!

My CBFM went up a block this morning after testing! So that is two blocks up and one to go hehehe.
Hoping I get a +opk and on the CBFM too before the 30th! Because I am away that weekend without oh! Also oh is away on 29th for the full day and evening and I know he will be too tired to BD that night.

But not stressing about it, just going to try take it as it comes! Already told myself that if this is not my month, it won't be from the lack of trying, just probably from timing of Ovulation with a busy weekend! :-)

Hello everybody.
I'm 36 and 10th of May is my test day :)

spicy - your date is added :flower:

giggles - not stressing out sounds good! I am trying to chill this month as well...

Hello Ladies - Please could you put me down for 5th May. There's no way I'm preggers as I had my HSG test this month, but would like to be included too!

I guess I can chill because with how things have planned I am certain that we won't catch the egg this month. Too much going on! But good stuff hehehe. Maybe we will get lucky, but not holding my breath for it this month.
I hope I don't sound like I am giving up this month, just trying to face reality rather than kick myself on test day. Far from giving up hehehe.

Hope you all have a good day and a fantastic weekend!

:flower:

Hey springflower - how did your hsg go?

Giggles - I'm all for being realistic. For instance, I've realized that getting knocked up is going to take much longer than I expected initially so I'm just going to try and enjoy the "trying" without trying too hard. It is a fine line!

Hello Ladies,

Can you please put me down for the 8th?

Congrats Here's Hoping!! Have a healthy and happy 9 months!

Springflower and jappygirl - your dates have been added :flower:

giggles and jaimie - totally agree about the 'realistic' thing - it's a good attitude, and then if you do get a BFP it's a nice surprise. I am going to try hard to do this as well this month!

Here's Hoping - hi!! Hope all is going well in First Tri! Thanks for visiting us :hugs:

Hey springflower - how did your hsg go?

Hey Jaimie2Eyes :flower:

The HSG itself was fine, I found it easier than a smear test and I'm a real baby when it comes to these things! My tubes are all fine so thats great news. I had it in my head they were the problem, so it's good to know it's not them!
