30-somethings TTC #1 Testing and Support Thread!

Yeah spoke to GP who said it is not that unusual as i was on the depo for 4 years. I am normally quite regular but every now and again i am on for nearly a whole month! Just cant wait to come off and then come on again and then start using my CBFM. Weird actually wanting to come on!!!

I felt the same way. I was excited to start using my monitor. It gives you a little feeling of control over something that's mostly out of your hands!

Hi, I'd like to join this thread. My testing date will be June 23rd!! Hoping for a BFP!!!

Lucky D- Sorry I never reported back with my results last month. I felt pretty negative about my changes and was not surprised at all when I got a BFN.

So, I figured I would increase my chances this month by using an OPK. I am feeling even more negative now. I think I missed my surge. I have been testing twice a day all week and suddenly last night, my second line was non-existent. It never got anywhere near as dark as the control line, but everything I'm reading indicates that I missed it. I'm thinking maybe I drink too much water throughout the day or something.

I am so upset. DH and I have not had time to BD this week, but I thought it was alright because I hadn't surged yet. He's gone all day today. I'm feeling like we missed our chance. So frustrating.

SquirrelGirl - Thanks for mentioning the CBFM thread. I am going to check that out today. OPK has been frustrating. I am definitely feeling pretty down today, so I'm hoping looking into the CBFM will revive my hopes for next month, as I'm pretty sure this month is out.

Thanks all for your lovely messages really cheered me up. No sign of AF today but it's just a waiting game. Appreciate your support and had a good hug from DH last night which helped.

Fairy :hugs:

hello to the newbies. You are just in time as June is going to be our month on the 30+ thread!

Lucky - ha ha welcome to the world of work and fitting in :sex: and feeling knackered!! Hold in there you get used to it after a while. Glad new job going well.

Squirrel do you really think a CBFM is better than a opk then?

:hi: Welcome!!!! The more the merrier, and June is our "BFP Explosion Month" :haha: So you joined at just the right time!!!

JC -- Honestly, I would keep testing. I was using regular OPKs and sometimes I'd get a bit of a line, followed by a day without a line etc. Actually I was never really knowing if the line was dark enough so I started to think I wasn't ovulating at all! Anyway, it turns out I don't ovulate until CD 17-20ish! Way later than I thought.

I talked to my sister who had a lot of trouble getting pg and she really recommended the CBFM. So I've been using it for a couple cycles now. It really does take the guess-work out. It's basically a glorified digital OPK, but you use FMU (first morning urine) rather than afternoon. This for me is a huge benefit because I can never remember to hold it for four hours and not drink so much water on the days I expect to test. Too many variables for me to get it right. If you can swing it price-wise, I whole-heartedly recommend it.

Oh, and even from the first month, my CBFM seemed to be right on. So... oh, and just in case anyone is wondering I really don't work for Clear Blue! haha!!

Yep, sure do -- for all the reasons I listed above! I'm glad you're feeling better today. :hugs: Just curious... what happened with your temp this morning? Did it go back up, or stay low??

Thanks SquirrelGirl - I am definitely going to keep testing. I am hoping that I'll just be surprised with a later ovulation date than expected - but, it would be a pretty big surprise. I definitely feel like I missed the boat this month. DH and I did manage to BD today though, just in case there is still a chance. If I did in fact miss my surge, it was probably sometime on Monday. So, there is still a very faint chance that I didn't actually ovulate until yesterday or even early today. We'll see...

I am excited to try the CBFM though. I just read up on it and it sounds like it is a lot easier than OPK. Plus, I like that it gives you both High and Peak days, unlike OPK which just give you peak. I need all the help I can get.

I am looking forward to seeing others on here with their BFPs this month! Baby dust all around:)

Oh love, I am so sorry :hugs: That's super frustrating. I know it's already been said, but I would totally go on testing...I have used OPKs for the last two months and didn't get a positive until CD16 and CD18 - waaay later than I expected. Good luck! xx

Lucky - ha ha welcome to the world of work and fitting in :sex: and feeling knackered!! Hold in there you get used to it after a while. Glad new job going well.

Yes, it's all too familiar really...suddenly travelling and looking for work seem like they have never happened - scary how quickly work can take over!

I am actually feeling a little overwhelmed by it all...but will be ok.

I got a positive OPK today - earliest I have had a positive yet! Don't know what the deal is with my cycles - I thought I was really regular but I guess not! BD'd tonight and used a softcup for the first time...but haven't taken it out yet so can't report back as to how hard or easy it was. Am sure it will be fine!

I get just as excited when my monitor asks for a test. I'm on CD 8 and started high fertility today. Hopefully I'll O this weekend and see the peak! I may need a life too...

I'm also using the cbfm and I agree with Squirrel - it's really very easy. I never tried any of the OPK's because they all sounded too complicated. This is my second cycle and I'm CD 8 showing the first day of high fertility. Last month I went straight from low fertlity to peak and was shocked probably because I was skeptical that the monitor would do its job. My cycles have been irregular so the monitor made total sense for me.

This is our 3rd cycle using pre-seed. I like it and a lot of ladies have good results from it.
