30-somethings TTC #1 Testing and Support Thread!

Hey ladies! The longer it takes me to get knocked up the more I go seeking statistics...for ages 30 to 34 there is a 15% chance of infertility; for ages 35 - 40 there is a 22% chance (infertility defined as going over a year with unprotected sex and not getting pg).

What I'd really like to see is a frequency chart with the number of cycles along the bottom, and ages 30 through 40 on the vertical axis. This didn't come up when I asked Dr. Google. Has anyone ever seen anything along those lines?

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here in awhile. I needed a bit of a break from it all for awhile because it was getting to be too much. I've stopped using all the TTC methods, no opks, no temps, no preseed, no sperm meets egg plan, just trying to see if nature will take its course...But I had to come back and check on all my 30+ friends.

Congrat to any BFP's that I've missed.

:hugs: to everyone who got the :witch:

And lots of :dust: to everyone

Oh, I'd like to see that as well.

I'm 5 dpo and not feeling much of anything :nope:. I'm bloated for sure and tired and emotional. But this could be due to the fact that I have to visit my in-laws this weekend (well not the bloating I guess).

Maybe you're holding your breath over the visit and that's causing the bloating!
Going with that line of thinking then I'd be experiencing some major nausea and vomitting! :haha: :haha: And guess what? I got a reprieve and don't have to go visit them :happydance:

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Interesting #'s thanks for posting. Dont forget also ladies that nearly half of the infertility cases deal with Male Factor. I totally assumed it was me as I am over 30 and was on the pill for almost 15 years but it turns out its my DH's SA that is the problem- with low morphology (learnt after months of disappointment and beating myself up).
I think as women we are so hard on ourselves and assume its always something on our side, but a lot of times its nothing to do with us at all (all my tests are fine)

I have my fx'd this IUI works
:hugs:

Hi Everyone,
I took a bit of a break too- I was travelling and overseas and am finally back in action. Congrats to the BFPs!! I'm staying relaxed but I've also come back from my trip with OPKs and a fertility monitor- I hope this will take some of the timing guessing out of things. Lucky D can you put me down for testing July 9th please?
Nice to be back!!

I think you're right about the early symptoms. I'm still holding out hope for you this month :dust::dust:

Thanks love :hugs: I'm not holding out hope for myself so glad that you are doing it for me!

That would definitely be interesting. I don't know if those statistics make me feel better or worse.....maybe a bit of both!

Good advice Britt x I have my fingers crossed from your IUI as well! And my toes as well....

Hey smurffette, nice to see you again - where overseas have you been? Will add your date now :flower: good luck

Having a good night lying on the couch....love Fridays! Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Very true Britt - I think that an SA is really important for anyone that has been trying for a while. I totally agree that as women we assume most of the responsibility in this process, for better or worse ; P I've got my FX'd for your IUI!

Welcome back Smurfette! Hope your stay is brief : )

Oh Lucky, all your posts about Friday night are making me jealous! I want my work day to hurry up and be over with!

:witch: got me last night, so I'm out.
I still have my FXd for everyone still in the wait. To see some of you get your :bfp:s would make me happy. I can deal with living vicariously through others right now:)

JCfromKC- Sorry that stupid :witch: got you. :hugs:

I just wanted to pop in to say HI and see how everyone was doing. I'm getting ready to leave for the store to pick up food for dinner and games tonight with friends.

Happy Friday!

JC - So sorry the :witch: got you. I was pulling for you. Seems like next month is so far away :hugs: :hugs:

DH left for his parents' so I'm relaxing at the moment (and very aware that I won't be so lucky next time). I have my fx'd for everyone testing this weekend :dust: :dust:. We really need more good news. My monitor is flashing "m" already at CD 23, reminding me that I may get an unpleasant surprise soon. I'm thinking this is not my month. I feel rather premenstrual. Hurry up one way or the other I say!

Oh no, so sorry JC :hugs::hugs::hugs: hope you are doing ok? Do something nice for yourself (I always find a glass of wine helps!) and sending you lots of luck for next month xxx

Hi Ladies
just popping by, not been all that active on the boards lately. Been very busy with work, courses, meetings and all the paperwork that goes with that! I think my cycle is all to pot this month! EVERY month since monitoring, I get a +opk on the evening of CD12 and a peak on the CBFM on the morning of CD13 and CD14. Well I seemed to have lost my +opk last night and the peak on the monitor this morning. Not sure what is going on, but hoping to get the + tonight. But until tonight I am going to have a wonderful day off. Going to do some relaxing and pampering I think .....

Have a wonderful weekend.
:hugs: and :dust:

Well, I think I'm drinking the right kind. I got the only kind that didn't have any added sugar or other juices. 100% grapefruit juice. I think I'll try grapefruits next cycle. Those would be easier to take to work and have during the day.
Ive been drinking the 100% grapefruit juice, not from concentrate so dont know if that has helped. Its the pink grapefruit one which tastes a little sweeter. I found it made a difference the following cycle, but I am drinking a large glass every day. Drank so much of it now I am addicted to the taste!!

Waiting4 - you and I will ov around the same time. I'm doing opk's, eating grapefruits and softcups this month. I'm also taking EPO ~ I don't know which works better for EWCM, the EPO or grapefruits because I've been doing them both. But if you aren't happy with just the grapefruit I would recommend EPO.
Ah ha! When are you testing Jaimie? I am determined to be more chilled this month.
i had heard that EPO can make AF heavier which put me off as she is fairly heavy as it is - did you find this?

Maxxi - keep positive. Sending you lots of :dust:

What is everyone up to this weekend? Im still sat in my pyjamas on the sofa even through its almost midday here  and dragging myself to the gym soon. We're taking out dogs to get their hair cut this afternoon, having a chilled night in and then thinking about going into London for a wander about tomorrow. Lovely!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

AF is more officially here. After many days of spotting, it's finally heavier now. I'm actually happy about that because I get really frustrated with so many days of spotting.

Anyway, my plans for the weekend include cleaning the house top to bottom, working out, and going grocery shopping today. Tomorrow my grandma, an aunt and a cousin are stopping by on their way to Wisconsin for vacation. So I'm going to make them brunch and show them our house and land.

I actually worked out quite a bit yesterday (I had the day off). I walked for nearly 3 miles on the treadmill, and then did various exercises while watching tv. Like I said a few days ago, if I can't be pregnant, by god, I'm going to get skinny. Gotta get rid of these thunder thighs!! :haha:

Squirrel that really, really sucks. I'll have the bad attitude for you so you can stay positive. I hear you though about wanting to just get AF over with (and about the skinny part). Buy yourself a nice present (my plan for this week, well who am I kidding it's my plan for all weeks really) and like I said I'll be pissed and negative for you and a million :hugs:!

What kind of dogs do you have Waiting? I have two mini dachshunds who are not so mini anymore (read - fat and spoiled). My oldest one turned 15 around 2 weeks ago. I'm going to a 1 yr old birthday party today (joy) and then going out with some friends tonight.

Oh and I'm having pink-tinged cm so I may be out this month too :growlmad:.
I'm hoping to get AF over quickly so I can start on next month.

Hey giggles! Nice to see you, sounds like you are having a busy time. Hope that your positive opk turns up tonight, and that in the mean time you enjoying some pampering - sound perfect x

Ha ha, I am a pyjama girl too, I love staying in my PJs until midday. I have had a pretty quiet weekend so far - was meant to be going into town to a movie today, but not feeling well so just gonna chill at home instead.

So sorry Squirrel :hugs: I know you knew it was gonna happen, but still.... looks like we are once again in tune, hope we O at the same time and we can be testing buddies again!
Good work on the workout - I need to get onto that as well!

Oh, hope not maxxi! Fingers crossed that this is NOT AF!! xx

Well, I woke to stomach cramps and spotting, so AF will be arriving today. I knew it would happen, but am feeling rather negative about it all at the moment. Have had a big rant in my journal, so won't bring you all down by going over it all again! But will try and find my positive attitude again really soon....!
