6 months + milk

As others have said - if your baby is fine on stage 1 milk, there's no need for follow on milk.

Another point, obviously it's up to the individual if you give your baby goodnight milk, but just be aware that it's got added potato and/or rice starch in it to thicken it up. Basically mash potato in a bottle. It's harder for LO to digest which keeps them asleep longer, but can cause constipation and tummy upsets, and the added starches in it can add to tooth decay unless you brush LOs teeth after.

I know you dont have to but we chose to at 6 months. It helped us with weaning as she didnt seem to have any room to eat much food while still taking her normal milk feeds. She spits up far less with follow on and now takes more food without dropping her milk feeds.
Its meant to 'leave more room' for food and has a higher iron content, everyone says its a gimmick but it worked well for us, we are happy we changed her onto it xxx

i agree, if my LO had been fine o stage 1 i wouldnt have changed.

And i tried the free sachet or goodnight milk once, adn it made no difference to LO's sleep but i tasted it  and it like coated my mouth it so so thick , it was disgusting i havnt given it to her since and wont be either.

We moved at around 7 months as Omar was on anti reflux formula & we had to switch slowly to normal formula. His formula intake was too low & he liked the follow on more than the regular one. We still have 2 large tins of formula, & he's already taking cow milk in the afternoon. Once we'r out of formula he'll be taking cow milk only xx

I don't think i'll bother changing although I know OH wants to.
But this is also the man who wanted to give Jake a bit of banana at 2 and half months

We haven't moved onto follow on milk BUT we have introduced goodnight milk as her last bottle before bed in an attempt to help reduce her nighttime wakings.

Sorry to hijack but did it work? I was thinking of doing that on the last bottle before bed but I'm not sure because LO is on SMA and the only night time one I could find was Hipp I think?

Well we've only just started and I've not seen a difference just yet. Going to keep at it though!

I started using it at 6 months and she's been absolutely fine on it.
Plus i had about a hundred £1 off vouchers for it!
