happy 32weeks to us whens your next app

Oh and Mrsctobe do you have a birthing ball? At NCT last night we were told to try sitting on one to help our baby get in the right position. Also a few ladies who had it said it helped with their back and hip pains so worth looking into.

Yeah ive got a ball dont think it does much for me tbh. im still really sore sitting on it i used one with dd2 cos she was back to back but never made her turn.
suppose they will only turn if they want to. my other two were stubborn and were back to back all the time even in labour lol they wouldnt turn

When my girl was back to back, I was told to sit on a chair and lean forward. Can't remember how long for but I did it every night and it worked. Not sure if it will help breech? xx

i find when i sit forword im putting more weight on my pelvis and my baby really hurt. i honestly think its like everything if they want to they will lol. i thought i felt him turn last night but not seen someone in 4 weeks so i have no idea. x

Think your right Hun. Fingers crossed! Can they tell you in your appt tomorrow? They are usually accurate at telling you babies position but not the weight! Xx

i had scan 4weeks ago telling me the weight :) so hes above average which i was expecting cos my babies all were :)

im not sure if they can tell you the position tomorrow? anyone know i just found out at 28weeks when they done scan what position he was in.

The explanation behind sitting that way Admiral and on a ball makes sense when you see them show you with a model of the pelvis. If you slouch or lean back, then our hip bone becomes a very convenient resting place and then gravity keeps them there. Whereas if you lean forward the baby has more room to move and work itself into a more roomy spot. We were told if your pelvis hurts then you should try to ensure that you sit ever so slightly forward or to the side, keeping your knees lower than your hips. If you lean one way or the other, rather than to the back then that prevents baby from finding a leaning post! :)

We've moved a lot of our boxes and belongings over to the new house already and storing them in the loft. We're hiring a removals company to do the rest - all the furniture and the last few boxes of our essentials and then no doubt I will spend much of my mat leave unpacking! We're probably looking at moving around 34 - 35 wks, but hoping to paint the nursery and the bedrooms in the next fortnight so it'll be relatively straight forward. (She says!) Just hoping that Pip stays put until I'm at least 37 weeks. My mw appt made me all excited and then a bit scared about having Pip early! Next appt is on the 24th April.

aw im sure baby will stay put for a lil while x
i have tomorrow then 30th april x

Oh yes, and they should be able to tell tomorrow, just make sure you ask them to check. My MW doesn't check to see if the baby is engaged until 36 weeks, but I asked if she could have a feel to explain where everything was at the beginning of my appt and she did that for me when she did the heartbeat

i dont expect him to engaged my other two never did. just wanna know if hes still breech or not lol.

is the 32week app just same as all the other apps? did they measure you? x

For me it was. According to my mat notes the 32 wk appt is BP, urine, measure fundal height and discuss place of birth. Though in my area I only get a 32 wk appt as a first time mum. You wouldn't get one if you were under my health trust unless you had other health concerns. My health trust always measure from 25 wks. They don't weigh or offer growth scans unless you have other problems. I gather this is different to other locations though.

34 wks is all of the above plus birth plan discussion, pain relief discussion, talk about feeding options and review mental health and social assessment again (like at the booking in appt).

36 wks is the same as 32 wks plus define baby's presentation and position, vitamin k discussion, talk about baby care basics and newborn screening plus post natal self care including pnd

oh i dread all this talk about pnd cos i had it with my last and rather not go over it again tbh lol unless i had concerns myself.

did they have a chat with you at 32weeks about the birth?
the mws i see dont tend to chat bout anything just do cheaks then bye bye dont really talk to you.

i didnt realy have growth scan at 28weeks it was a scan cos i had spotting at 27weeks just asked the weight though cos i was worried about the growth x

I'm not sure if it's normal to have a chat or not at 32 weeks. They included a pamphlet on the birthing locations in my area in my maternity notes pack so she wanted me to take a look but that was pretty much it. I think that Pip being quite low (which doesn't necessarily mean anything) and my family history of premature labours meant that she asked me to start considering my options now, when normally they'd start talking about it at the next appointment. I think Pip should stay put as long as I avoid pre-eclampsia and stay healthy, but I'm not sure that Pip will be late, but I could be totally wrong. Pip might be very comfy in there! :D I wouldn't worry about the pnd discussion. In some ways it'll be easy for you as you and your OH already know how to recognise the signs.

yeah im not gona enter into the discussion i dont really wanna talk about it tbh.
my ribs and back so sore atm lol baby hasnt moved all day though :/
oh he kicked once earlier
