Active group of Military Spouses, Girlfriends, and Fiances TTC

hi there! id like to join too :) DH has been in the air force for 8 years, we met here in hawaii and have been married for 2.5 years. this station is pretty sweet, but DH is coming on the max 6 year station here and we will be PCSing in november...who knows where too. we have a daughter who is 6 months and DH has a son that is 4 years old. we just bought a minivan...were totally the quintessential military/soccer mom family now! :)

speaking of the whole government shutdown thing...anyone know what that will do to BAH and BAS? ive heard that, even if the government shutsdown, DH will get backpay for the days the shutdown lasted, but i havent heard if we will be out BAH and BAS too? will it be backpaid? arrrghhh...so annoyed with this whole thing!

Hey all, My name is Christine my husband is active duty Army currently serving on recruiting duty. We have been trying to conceive since last Jan. I got pregnant in feb then suffered a miscarriage in April. We stop trying for a little while resumed in summer then kind of stop thinking about it! December we officially started and I have been charting since Jan. My son is six so we are hoping that it happens soon!!! AF is due today April 7th but I ovulated late this month so by that it should be here Sat. I have zero AF symptoms but a BFN! Hoping it might be to early (12DPO) :) Trying to be optimistic! Glad I found a military thread! BEST WISHES OF BFP to all

good luck jimmyntine! i hope that this is the month for you! :dust:

Welcome Everyone! It is good to have all this support, especially with the possibility of a pay freeze. I am very fortunate that I have amazing in laws who will do everything to make sure that we have what we need but I still dont like the idea of our hubbies going on paid! It is not fair, they are upholding there end of the contract, why can't the goverment! Any way how many people are getting ready to test this month?

I tested today (negative) and if AF doesn't arrive today or tonight then i will be testing again in the morning. FXed for all of us.

familyready: i just noticed that youre living in cheyenne! i am originally from casper, wy...its always so good to be reminded of home (that place i hated when growing up, but now feel all nostalgic over...hehe)

anyway, DH and i are TTC another baby after having DD in September. i am nursing though and my cycles have not returned to normal, in fact ive only had 2 light AFs since audrey was born. i am beginning to think that we wont be able to conceive until i give up the nursing...but for now i am continuing. since i have no idea if i am ovulating or when, i just test every 2-3 weeks. hopefully ill get lucky and get a BFP out of chance!

baby dust to everyone! :dust:

Testing on the 17th! Watch it be just our luck and now that I am having doubts I will be pregnant lol

Well ya know what they say it is a lot easier to get pg when breast feeding. And I am from Portland so cheyenne is a big change!

Really? I've only ever heard the opposite. In fact, the Chinese practice extended nursing as a form of natural birth control. It's not a sure thing but breastfeeding can decrease your chances of ovulation.

I was always taught that you had a higher chance of getting pg, but i dont really know I have never been pg.

my temp went below the coveline today i guess im not gonna get preggo this time

i thought you didnt ov until after you had a surge not before maybe im about to ov and ff is wrong. maybe i could just be ov now err i have not knowing lol

yes and i have got + for about 3 days but my strongest was after ff says i ov so im confused

You can still get a positive even after you O. I've had it before. Or you could have surged and not have Oed and your body is still trying to O so your still surging. Does that make sense???

its true that you are more fertile right after giving birth and your chances of multiples are higher then too, but breastfeeding *CAN BE* a very effective form of BC depending on your body. they say not to rely on it though because some women ovulate right away while breastfeeding, some dont until they stop completely. they say that if you are giving the baby any other form of food (solids or formula to supplement), going more than 6 hours without nursing, or your baby is over 6 months...you will likely start ovulating again. i seem to be one of the unlucky ones that wont until audrey weans completely though...she has had formula to supplement since she was 12 weeks, she has slept through the night (7-8 hrs at a stretch) since she was 8 weeks, and shes over 6 months. in theory i should have ovulated and gotten pregnant already! just my luck! lol.
