After the BFP...TTC #1 "Graduates"

And savvy, to answer your question, I've had quite a few ultrasounds... So far, I've had 6. I had 2 early ones at my RE's office, I had one at 11 weeks at the first appt with my OB, the 20 week anatomy scan and I've also done 2 elective ones- to find out the gender and then the 4d. I just need to see my little guy as much as I can! Lol. When will you find out the genders of the twins? I know sometimes with twins you have to wait a little longer, right?

Is anyone here going to wait to know the gender until they're born? I have a friend who's waiting and I don't know how she does it... Lol

I love the idea of waiting, but there's NO way I will be able to, haha! We will definitely find out as soon as we can.

And, I think I'll be like you and opt for a few elective ultrasounds. I definitely want to do the 4d, that is so cool!

How is everyone today?

I wanted to post this, especially for you savvy, since you're such the saver! Lol. I just ordered a car seat canopy and a nursing pillow and only paid the 12.95 shipping for each! It's a great deal! In case you ladies are interested...

Ugh, it won't let me post the pic for the nursing pillow, but it's

Nursingpillow.com
Promo code is: AB8NP
It'll apply $40 off!

Such great deals! THANK YOU!

Amy, yeah I couldn't even wait til the 20 week ultrasound to find out. We had the elective one at 15 weeks to find out. I'm way too impatient. lol

A girl from my February thread posted about getting 5 pairs of reusable nursing pads for free with $12.95 shipping if you use the coupon code on this blog: https://athriftymom.com/10-sets-of-...promo-code-athriftymom1-breast-feeding-month/

I have had 3 ultrasounds so far (7, 8 and 13 weeks). My OB told me twins get more ultrasounds because they need to check and make sure they are both okay, especially later in the pregnancy. I will have appointments with her every 4 weeks for now and then I think in the 3rd trimester it is every 2 weeks or weekly (if needed). So I think I might see them a lot. I have an appointment with the OB on September 10th (18 weeks) and with the Fetal Ultrasound Specialist tech on September 16th (19 weeks) when I will find out the genders. I think the girl at the checkout booked the wrong days and I need to e-mail my doctor since she told me to get the anatomy scan/genders at 16 weeks and then see her a month later. I don't see the point of having my two appointments within a week of each other.

It is awesome you were able to have so many ultrasounds Allison, plus the elective 4D was totally worth it!

hi ladies :flower:

I'm enjoying reading along with you all, and am very curious about what the upcoming scans will hold!

Hi minuet! :flower:
I have seen you posting in the ttc thread, hope you are joining us here very soon! I O'd late (CD22) the cycle I got pregnant with my twins!

Oooh! That's an option?! TOTALLY doing it! Hahaha.

My OB did my 13 week ultrasounds instead of a experienced u/s tech and she spent like 2 minutes just enough to get a glance and a quick picture. Most girls get the traditional picture of the baby on their back and hopefully a "nub shot" which you can use to predict the gender. I think a scan between 12-14 weeks is the most accurate and there are groups on bnb that you can post and girls will predict the gender. I was a little disappointed since I can't predict the genders with my pictures but I wasn't going to complain since I wasn't suppose to have an ultrasound at 13 weeks.

I also found this about the "nub theory" or "angle of the dangle" which was interesting!

That's really interesting, thanks for sharing!

How is everyone this weekend? Exhausted, but can't wait to hit the 6 week mark tomorrow. 2.5 weeks to our scans!

I remember how exhausted I was in the beginning, I wanted to nap every day. Lol. It'll go away pretty soon, until you get bigger that is. Then the exhaustion will return... Lol.

My weekend has been pretty good. Did my baby registries online today. I wasn't about to go out during tax free weekend to do them, so I took the easy road and sat here on my butt at home and did them. : ) I can't believe I'm almost to my 3rd trimester, time has flown by! I hope time goes by as quickly for you ladies as it has for me!!!

Oooh, registries, how fun!! Hopefully more fun than wedding registries - that became stressful. Too much stuff! Hahaa.

I hope it goes quickly, too! I can't wait to hit the second tri. I am so exhausted today, my body is so achy like I have the flu. And I have been sleeping horribly. Maybe it's just nerves?

I slept like 15 hours a day for the first couple of weeks, luckily I run my own business from home so I am able to choose my hours and number of clients. About 8-9 weeks it started getting better and I would sleep 8-9 hours at night with a lunchtime nap. That was my worst symptom...I also was grossed out by almost every food and gagged if you mentioned something I didn't want. I get on food kicks...for the past two weeks I have only eaten oatmeal, strawberries, grapes, green beans and BLT's. The thought of anything else makes me gag. :)

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

How is everyone doing this morning?

Registries are exciting. I don't think I'm going to register or have a traditional shower though. I think I would like to have a celebration, because it's been such a long road getting here, but I just don't want people buying us stuff really. We can afford to buy the stuff we need, and I hate the thought of anyone putting themselves out. Plus I don't really want tons of junk lol. I really would love to have a shower to celebrate with family and friends but request that in lieu of a traditional gift, people bring a book they have dedicated to build baby's library. What do you guys envision for your showers or celebrations?

So I have had a really busy weekend, with a catering gig on Friday, entertained family Saturday and Sunday evenings. I have been pretty exhausted, but not really much other than that. I feel a bit worried because it seems like the light nausea I felt in week 4 is gone in week 5. I'm still feeling dizzy here and there if I get up fast and still have light (I assume stretching) pains in my abdomen and side from time to time. But it kind of bothers me that I'm not feeling more symptoms. I guess I just was looking for a little feedback from you ladies who are further along. DH said that your body just catches up sometimes and don't feel bad about feeling good. I'm trying really hard to have faith that everything will be fine, but my scan on the 27th cannot come soon enough.

On a happy note, changed my status and added a ticker! :happydance:

Sarah, it is so funny how we want more symptoms to feel pregnant, I was the exact same way! I think most woman on my Feb thread started getting morning sickness (or all day sickness) around 6-7 weeks. I was dizzy/lightheaded around then too, I still get that way if I jump up fast and start walking right away. If I move funny or cough or sneeze I get a quick sharp pain (round ligament pain) in my abdomen and the dull stretching pain...I seriously can't wait to pop my bump!

I would rather not have a shower, since I feel the same way about inviting people to buy me gifts but my MIL insists and convinced my mom to throw one for me. I probably won't invite many of my friends, I'll just let them invite their friends and family.

I am ticked at my MIL because she went against my wishes and told a bunch of their family/friends I was pregnant last week before I had a chance to even tell my family and friends. I told my husband over the weekend she lost my trust and lost the privilege to know the genders in September, I am going to do my big gender reveal in December at the shower. Do you girls think that is too harsh?

Thanks Savvy, that makes me feel better that it took you until 6-7weeks to really start major symptoms. I am feeling better about it. I asked my April thread, and they said that it was very normal.

I think it is perfectly fine to not tell her the gender until the reveal. If you explicitly told her that you did not want anyone else to know about the pregnancy yet, then she should have respected that. I wouldn't hold a grudge and let it come between you guys, but I definitely think you are justified in not wanting to share more "time sensitive" information with her. It would stink to do a big gender reveal and have half of the people there already know what they were.

Feeling AWFUL today... but kind of happy about it at the same time. So twisted!

Nauseous, exhausted, achy, horribly sore BBs, sleeping terribly.

Just trying to drink a lot of water and not move too much from my desk. :)

Sorry you're not feeling well, Amy! But I agree, you can take that as consolation that everything is progressing well! :D

I did Piloxing workout class today. It was fun. I consider it good luck because I did it the day I implanted! :)

Oooh! I've heard great things about Piloxing. You should totally do it the morning of the 27.

Sarah, yeah the idea of people buying me things is weird too. But I bought all the big stuff, so the stuff on my registry is pretty generic stuff- diapers, extra bottles, toys, etc. I tried to keep it pretty cheap stuff. My boss and her mom really wanted to have a shower for me and invite everyone from work. It's a small business so we're all pretty close, I'm just looking forward to everyone being able to get together outside of work and having a good time more so than getting gifts.
And I remember not having too many symptoms in the beginning. I wanted to feel sick so I felt pregnant. I literally only threw up 4 times I think. My nausea always came in the evening. I'd eat fine during the day, but come dinner, I was disgusted.

Savvy, I'd be the same way. I'd be really irritated that she told people I was pregnant. I wouldn't tell her the genders either. It's not like you're saying you're never going to tell her, she just has to wait like everyone else since she lost that trust. Maybe it'll be a good surprise for her anyways, just say that y'all aren't going to tell anyone until the big reveal. You're still going to tell us before then though, right?! Hahaha!

Amy, sorry you're feeling bad, but just think of the great reward at the end of it all! I've felt pretty crappy today myself too. My back hurts so bad, and I've had awful acid reflux the past few days. Ugh. I took a 2 hour nap when I got off work today. It was nice. Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow! : )
