Any help would be great please... *UPDATE FIRST POST*

Hi girls was just wondering if there was anyone who could help...i have been ttc for 3 years now after m.c of twins in 2006 and have had the basic GP testing then reffered and refused by IVF wales due to my age (their policies state the female has to be aged 23 to be considered for treatment) so me being 21 i have to wait. Is there anything else i can try, any route i can take or any more testing i can suggest...i hate the feeling of not being able to do anything...i feel like i dont belong... thanks so much!

xxx:kiss:
I spoke to IVF wales today who told me that there isn't any other testing to do as im too young thats prob why im not catching is because im so young anyway, she said that theres no point doing a HSG as it isnt a very nice test and it would need to be repeated if i were to get my tubes blocked again.
so she told me all i can do basically is wait until im 23 then i will be put back on their list, but if i had the money i could go privately - this annoyed me so much basically in their eyes im too young but if i have the money then i can have any treatment. its just not fair

Sorry but I feel annoyed for you! How can you not be getting pregnant because you are too young - what utter rot, it should be easier to get pregnant the younger you are - obviously once you are past puberty and your body has settled down. You should not be going straight into IVF, they should be checking your tubes, having swab tests for clymadia and other backterial infections and you should have a shot at IUI before IVF if you want to. They haven't offered you any other options which should be offered. The NHS in this country is too quick to go to IVF, for example, I've had 4 rounds of clomid and HCG jab, then a lap and dye and then I was offered clomid and IUI and if that didn't work then referall to IVF. I feel this is too quick and persuaded the hospital to let me have more clomid and HCG jabs before trying anything futher. I'm also looking in to seeing someone like Zita West privately as she looks into other things such as immune systems and nutrition. I'm guessing that there is noone else you could see for a second opinon? Can you travel to see someone else or phone some other hospitals and see what their treatment policy is? :hugs: Good luck if you try anything else

i asked for clomid but they said no as im not having any problems with ovulating i dont need it :( xx

Ahhh I see, I didn't realise that bit. I imagine that it must be really quite hard for you not knowing what's causing your problems. :hugs:

OK so thats understandable but I don't t see why they aren't then offering IUI without medication

As far as I know, and I could be wrong because I haven't done that much research, IUI is treated the same as IVF - You have to be aged 23 to 39 to get it on the NHS. You also have to have been trying for three years unless you're approaching the 39 deadline. I think there's also other criteria such as hormone levels and BMI.

Same here in oxfordshire PCT IUI is treated the same as IVF.... but 30-39 before any treatment. Its wrong how they can change the rules from PCT to PCT!!! Although I guess we're lucky we get NHS help... some places dont offer anything

Thats ridiculous and it is stupid that it changes from PCT to PCT we are obviously lucky here, my friend has been referred for IVF and she is 25, she has already had 4 rounds of clomid and HCG and 3 rounds of IUI with clomid. The NICE guidelines were meant to be making treatment the same everywhere. Crikey I never thought I would think that we were lucky here with the treatment my hospital offers  It is stupid that you have to be 30 before you can have IVF, fertility starts to decline at 30! Plus you can apply to adopt at 21! Stupid Stupid Stupid - if you hadn't guessed the way the NHS works drives me crazy, why should people be made to wait until they are older when you have better chances when you are younger or is that too straight forward and I'm missing the point?
