any other over 35 first time mums?

That is so true and I am still hoping for a lovely surprise from Dom. Last night was as usual, i.e. one 1h 40m was the longest stretch of sleep I got. When oh when will he stop needing me to come to him in the night?! Seb seems very happy to just sleep.

Oh Angelk, I hope soon! Theses babies keep us on our toes don't they!!!!

Whew! Okay, here we go:

Your kidding!!! Mine turned 7 months today and NO teeth!! Where are they? She has been drooling like crazy and chomping on everything that comes near her for like 4 months now! I thought she was teething early, but nothing!! How do you know when they break through? Do you just keep checking, or do the babies let you know with fussiness, waking etc?
J's first two didn't break through until last week and he's nearly 8 months. We also thought that he was going to get them at 4 months, because he developed these little white cysts that looked like the beginnings of teeth. But no--nothing happened. We didn't find out that these two had broken through until last week when my husband gave him a metal spoon to play with (see below in siggy) and he heard a "clang." J simply won't let us look in his mouth. But he had been tugging on both ears a lot just before it happened. I just thought he was really, really tired. :dohh:

That's great that it is working! I bet both of you feel so much better! Is he overtired at nap time? I notice that when dd gets overtired she is SO hard to get down for a nap. Sometimes I have to give in and take her out in her stroller and hten she will settle and fall asleep. If I catch her early enough it is usually much easier. It was weird because her last nap is usually a struggle and today I was surprised that she just fell right asleep in her swing and then I realized that I had misread the clock and put her down an hour earlier than I had planned to. Maybe I need to try that again tomorrow!

It's not that he's overtired (I don't think), it's just that he's fighting our regular routine to get him to sleep during naps. We used to (just like at night) give him a bottle then rock him to sleep. He's fine with the bottle, but doesn't want to be rocked anymore, to the point where he's struggling so hard with us that we're getting bruised. That's why we did CIO at night to begin with. But CIO doesn't work with naps. I don't think... Anyway, if we can get him down, we can often get a good nap out of him, but we just can't get him down. And he doesn't like anything like a swing or bouncer, so that's out. And he doesn't fall asleep in his stroller. If anything, it's another time to PAR-TAY!

It's a problem I've got to solve. Oh well, I like solving problems...

we dont use cloth nappies but marthas been using the potty since 5 months so im hoping we wont be using nappies for too long so i figure thats my contribution lol

Holy!!! Did you do Elimination Communication?

:hi: ladies

It's the 3rd night in a row N STTN.
What is going on?
It just happened. He just did it. Will it last? :coffee:

But this is fantastic! 3 nights in a row is pretty darn consistent.

Kosh, how is the cold?

As for us, um, well, pretty much everything is the same. I started giving J prunes last night--only 2, and he ate the equivalent of half a prune--to prepare him for switching formulas again. I also tried to buy the BLW Cookbook, but nobody had it in stock. I managed to order it, but I want it now! I'll check out the libraries today.

ETA: Great. The library has five copies and they are all out. And they are all due back when my order is due. The BLW stars appear to be aligned against me...

okay so I am going to start introducing my LO, me and my husband to you ladies :winkwink:.

We had some great professional pictures done but the files are too big so i have to ask my oh how to make them smaller. not very computer proficient .

Please do please do:happydance:). My favorite thread on bc is the photo one. It is so nice to see the people that we talk to and how the LO's change so much in a couple of months!!

Beaatiful photos barboleta!! What a beautiful family! It's always nice to put a name to a face!
I have issues taming my hair. Right now I wish it would just stop falling out. It it growing back in front and looks ridiculous. I have a ton of baby bangs and I feel like it's going to be a year before they get to the right length. :growlmad: Oh well, I guess I should be happy it's growing back.

Same here. My hair fell out in bunches! I was glad a had lots of hair to start with otherwise I would be bold. My bathroom floor still gets covered with hair. and the baby hair on the front :haha:... I wonder if thiago or me is having more baby hair on the way :dohh:. But like you said at least the hair is coming back :).

quick hello from me! sooo tired today. need a week of sleeping. And last night was only one wake up too. we've got lots of teething going on too - chewing everything including fingers and nipples (ouch), drooling, screaming, restless etc. 2 teeth through at the bottom with one of the top middle through and its mate starting to break through - plus 2 more top and bottom that are on their way.

Kosh - it's so hard when LO's have a cold, isn't it? Kia had 3 in a row from about 6 months to 8 months. Each lasted about 10-14 days with about a week in between then another one.

hats off to any of you doing exercise. I walk about quite a lot with Kia in the sling (main way to guarantee a daytime nap) so I've just about lost my pregnancy weight but I haven't done any sort of toning exercises or stomach exercises. I'm into the loose, floaty tops at the moment!!!!!!

We're off to a festival next week - crazy or fun or both? Not sure yet!!! fingers crossed for no rain. xx

Oh my gosh leeze! It sounds painful poor baby! How many teeth total including the ones coming in ?

There's 4 that are through or part-way through plus another 4 that you can either see or feel. So 8 in total! So much drooling!

So fast on this thread! Trying to remember what I wanted to say. CreatingPeace, you asked about the festival. It's a music festival, mainly bands from the 90s, and is meant to be very family friendly. We're hiring a campervan so not totally roughing it but I'm definitely a bit excited and a bit anxious. Someone asked about teething and when you can tell when they're coming through. With the bottom ones on kia you could feel them if you put our finger in her mouth, they feel quite sharp. With the top ones, you can see the shape of them behind the gum. Someone mentioned hair-loss. My hair has fallen out in clumps since I had kia and still is doing. Sorry for not remembering who said what, but it's hard when I'm on my phone to scroll back. Also, lovely photos - i'll look some out of us when I'm on the laptop. I wanted to ask you ladies, does anyone find it more difficult now to socialise with friends who don't have children? My OH and I went for a BBQ today and we were some old friends. I really struggled to find stuff to talk to them about and didn't feel very relaxed. And I kept thinking one of them was criticising my parenting. He told me I shouldn't speak to Kia in a baby voice and also at one point told me she'd had enough food while I was feeding her. I want to speak to him about it but OH says to try not to worry about it and see if it happens again. But, I just didn't really enjoy myself and am starting to question my friendship with him. Ugh. I just want a happy life. It's hard enough with teething and sleep deprivation. That reminds me, Angel, that sounds incredibly tough to wake up so often. Do you ever get a chance to get a decent sleep or are you up every night with them? Do they nap in the day? You must be exhausted. I struggle with waking every 4 hours or so. I can't imagine what it must be like for you. X

Hi guys,

sorry to write and run--but I'm too tired to respond properly right now. Blah. But I will in a bit.

But, just wanted to say: my baby hair that's growing in in the front? It's friggin' grey. Oh, the irony.

same here, too tired to post properly.
LO is still a bit rough but at least he seems to be sleeping ok?

anyway, will have to look for pictures of DH and me but in the meantime here is one of my favourites (a couple of months ago)

Grey hair... I have them since I was 15!!! So now at almost 39 you cAn imagine how bad it is! I am probably 75% grey. Thank you loreal;)!

I am so glad that Avery has not succumbed to the peer pressure and joined the 3:30am par-tay!!

Kosh omg CUTENESS!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question. thiago was sleeping really good before this tooth started coming in. So the past couple of nights he has been waking up between 3:30 and 4:30am and decides to play on his crib. He is really just now been able to roll from tummy to back and back and forth. Did your Lo's had a harder time sleeping thru the night once they new how to roll? At least for a while because it was a new thing for them so they want to keep practicing ?

Kosh he is adorable! Soo so sweet!
I've been trying to follow weightwatchers but with the constant exhaustion I am always reaching for food to compensate and it is not working.
I am also loosing hair BIG time! But so far I have no grey hairs. :touchwood: It really would be/is a bummer if the new ones come in grey! That would just about do me in: horrible crepey jelly belly, saggier boobs AND grey hair? No please!
Clio :hugs: :hugs:
