any other over 35 first time mums?

Haha, no...one of my BnB friends is in Zlín, Czech Republic & had her DE IVF transfer today...It's just my way of rooting for her. Although, I just found out that only 1 of 7 embryos was viable after testing, so I need to change it. (Unless it splits,?!)

Clio: got the Huggies overnight :thumbup:l it did leak a little last night but thiago went to sleep at 7:30pm and slept till 6:30pm so that was 11 hours with the same diaper. I will try again tonight:). But I think I like it but i prefer the feels of the pampers better :winkwink:.

Have you tried the Pampers Overnights? We just tried them because we couldn't find the Huggies ones, and they work, too. Huggies Overnights also have a size 5 that is barely bigger than a size 4 (J fell into both weight ranges). They ended up working perfectly when the size 4 stopped working, even though he was nowhere near the top of the weight limit on the 4s. I wonder if that made any sense at all?

Anyway, I still swear by one overnight diaper on normally, and a second, day diaper on backwards. Never had a singe leak.

Lol, SK...What does babble-swearing sound like?

babble with an angry tone!

not much here - am sooooooooo tired! LO is intently watching Shaun the Sheep at the moment, e.g. he is standing 1 foot away, holding onto the playpen wall (we have a metal playpen that you can 'break down' into a straight line, which we use to cross the living room and keeps little fingers from the TV and the fireplace)

maybe I can get some work done? (reviewing Latin, writing applications, etc)....

personals:
angel - I'l glad there is some positive news and the therapist has given you some advice, etc......
and london ladies (angel, charlie and claire - anybody else?), am doing loads of applications for these new academy schools in london, cross fingers!

um.....?

hugs, bye!

I find keeping up here with full replies to everyone etc quite hard but reading here and there, not at all difficult lol

Which one is on top, Clio?

We still have leaks.

The regular, daytime diaper is on top, so the nighttime one can do it's job and soak up as much as possible. Then, any excess goes into the regular diaper.

When the daytime one on top stops working, we switch to another nighttime one instead.

Angel - glad the speech therapist was so nice and gave you some good advice. And now you have a clean house, too! :haha:

Kosh - so sorry about the stress at work. :hugs: Feel free to vent about it to us, we're here to listen even if we can't help! :hugs::hugs:

Clio - I am looking to add to Blake's books and took a look at the Click Clack Moo online. So funny! I remember when you said your oh liked the socialist message...I prefer to think of it as an animal rights message! :) :haha:

And then I looked up another of the same line, when Farmer lets his brother in charge while he goes on vacation, and the animals want pizza...couldn't tell clearly or not from the YouTube picture of the book, but it looked like the pigs were eating pizza with pepperoni on it?!? Is that for real??

Another super cold spell here, woke up to temps of -8 F! Actual temp, not wind chill.

kosh--I'm sorry about your job and your meltdown! :hugs: Do you think you'd like it better, or be able to cope with it better if you weren't sleep deprived?

Angel--What does Sebeling mean? It sounds very sweet! I'm sorry about the speech delay "diagnosis," though. Are you worried?

AFM--after all of my "working out" (ie. walking) and taking J to programs every second day, my joint gave out! It was doing so well; I didn't have a twinge from it for ages! Now I'm back on the couch with ice packs, and a huge measure of guilt.

Oh, and we raise our voices. J is often on the verge of hitting a computer with a mallet, or hurting the cat, or refusing to let go of an open permanent marker or something. Distraction doesn't work with this boy when he's intent on doing something; he's like a dog with a bone. But he's a good boy, for the most part.

Kitty--I never noticed that about the pizza! I just went and looked and the pigs are eating pepperoni! OMG!

If you want another good book, the one that Kosh suggested--"Stuck"--is great for younger LOs. The story isn't complicated at all and it's a funny story to read. Lots of vocab to learn, too. I also just got "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," which also has an easy-to-follow story and lots of vocab. It's his current favourite.

Question for all:

Which, if any, are your LO's favourite books right now? "Cookie", and "Stuck" are J's.

Clio Sebeling doesn't mean anything. It is just something we made up from Seb and Sebby etc.
Dominic's favourite book is Tabby McTat, no doubt about it. Second probably is any book with Scarface Claw in it. And then closely followed by any other cat book, such as Mog's Family of Cats. ETA actually he likes anything with "Lingy" (Slinky Malinki) too.
Sebastian doesn't get to have a favourite book as he is never allowed to hold any for longer than a minute :dohh:. It is a bit of a problem cause when I then take the book away from Dominic again to give to Sebastian, he starts to cry :( And I always said I didn't want to get in between their little fights (as long as they didn't hurt each other). Sigh.

Kitty--if you're looking to expand your library right now, at B's age, J LOVED the Leslie Patricelli books. "No No Yes Yes" was his absolute favourite. Leeze told me about them.

It must be hard not to get involved! So S and D "read" the books on their own?

Well they do sometimes but mostly they want to sit on my lap and have me read it to them. But when Sebastian comes with a book he often doesn't even reach me, before Dominic grabs it. Or if he does make it to my lap he then tries to grab it off us and closes it. They are both jealous of each other in different ways I guess. But for Dominic mostly it means that I am not allowed to read a book to Sebastian. When I insist and hold on tightly to it, he will cry and try to lie on it etc making it difficult for me to read. OOH suspicious noises brb

ETA Dominic climbed up on the chair in the nursery and ripped down the iPhone that we use for the white noise MP3 as well as the Groegg. I have now put the chair IN the cot so they cannot get to the shelf any more. Man!

That last image made laugh!!! Dominic should play football! Poor Sebastian! What books does he try to bring you?

Clio - thanks, I love book recommendations!! :) We do have the potty book you guys recommended by that author, I'll have to take a look at her others.

I still can't believe someone drew pigs eating pepperoni?!? Wtf?

Blake has always loved books and us reading him stories, sometimes he pays attention (only his favs) or sometimes just plays around his room while we read the longer stories to him (mostly Bearenstain Bears ones since they're longer). Lately, just in the past month or so, he's taken to crawling up on my lap for his favorites. :cloud9:

One if his favorite things to do is turn the pages on his board books - apparently it's big fun! He'll turn them while I'm reading, but also on his own. It is soooo cute! Sometimes while I'm reading a longer story, he'll crawl off, find a board book and just flip the pages while I read, like 'I'm reading a book too!' :haha:

Hi ladies,

Clio: do you put two diapers on J at night time?
Thiago is into good night moon 1 2 3 ( counting book), pocoyo big lift and look book ( has everything he loves there like numbers and the alphabet, he actually memorized where the numbers are since they are not in order, so he goes from 1 to 10 and is very proud of himself :haha:). And from the same author of yes yes no no he likes the one about the potty. For some reason he is not into books that tells you a story. Oh he likes a term book that my sister send from Brasil and a counting book about insect deciding to sit in a flor ( counts till 10) and by 10 the poor flower is pretty muched mashed by all those insects a little frogs sitting on her that most of them decide to move and do something else. It is a cute book. Okay just looked at the book and found out is actually English author. Try www.smartinkbook.us . I will check too and if I find I will post the link.

Angel: so happy to hear about Seb:). And I love his nickname :haha:.

Have to put thiago for a nap. Will be right back:).

Borboleta--it depends. If the Overnight Diaper no longer fits well enough to keep everything in, then we stick a regular diaper on over it. But, as I said, we put it on backwards, to help cover up the leaks. He's never peed through that combination!

ETA: your link doesn't work!
