anyone got pregnant after ovarian drilling?

M -best of luck testing tomorro. Be sure to update us - rooting for ya girl!

Arrr, really sorry! Have u been takin clomid? I know my fs is puttin me on clomid after my op as he says it has best chance of
working just after the op x

really sorry af got you, i was told i was going to be put on clomid and have just been refused today, really angry at them as i dont see the point in the appointment to tell me no :growlmad:
do you think i will have a chance if i take this to my gp, we all know clomid works well after OD, i have had 3 months worth last year and they even told me that you are allowed 6 months of it, so confused why they said no,

Wonder why they said no? To be honest, I think its just pot luck what doc/fs you see. There seems to be no consistency between any of them! Do you not know anyone that could give you there leftover comid?

I did try clomed and i ended up with a large cyst. He said since i am ovulating on my own I should just keep trying. I have been at the fertility clinic for over 2 years and have tried everything. So we finally decided to do ovarian drilling. He said if I do not get pregnant on my own we have to go to IVF. But, we are not in a financial position to do that right now.

i am the same, she said ivf next for us, well thats not an option, 1 because its far too expensive and 2 because i recently had an abnormal smear :dohh:

i dont know anyone else who is on clomid, i will give dr a try and see what they say, fs told me this op will only work for 12 months so i feel a bit of pressure now as i had it done 4 months ago. i did manage to ov last month and i hope i do again, time will tell now, thanks guys

So glad to find this thread! Some discussion about ovarian drilling that is somewhat recent!

My fertility specialist just suggested the procedure last month, got me on Provera, got my AF over the weekend - called today and they scheduled me for Wednesday! I can't believe it's only 2 days away!

I'm nervous, but cautiously optimistic. Doctor is sure that I'll be really responsive to it since I have "lean-type" PCOS. I hope he's right! We've been trying for about a year and a half and I'm not getting any younger!

I've seen lots of different statistics about the success rate... I hope I'm up with those 80% numbers that result in pregnancy. :)

Good luck and be sure to let us know how u get on. My procedure is in 3 days. Slightly scared now! Xx

Hi ladies!

Well, I had my procedure yesterday. It went very well. I don't remember any of it! I had more than just the OD done (D&C, separation of my fallopian tube from my pelvic wall, some other stuff), and I am a bit sore still. The hardest thing has probably been the bloating from when they put all the gas in me to open me up for the procedure. I look 4 months preggers! I was able to get some really great sleep last night, which surprised me, so I'm fairly energetic today, though keeping it easy.

I know it will all be worth it - the doc told DH that it's a good thing we did this and he's very hopeful we'll conceive now. I go back for a checkup next week, and we'll talk about options. He may want me on birth control for a few months or a depoprovera injection. Not sure why - he talked to DH, not me since I was knocked out. :)

Hoping for the best!

Pleased it went well for u. Mine tomorro so makes
me feel more at ease knowing that yrs went well. Did u stay in o/night? Xx

Nope! Got there at 6 am, left around 11:30 am! Very glad my husband was home with me yesterday, though. My abs do really hurt. It is hard to get up or lay back down, but it's worth it! Each little pain reminds me I'm one step closer to being a mommy. :)

Such a great attitude to have honey. I hope I'm as brave as u tomorro. That was quick them letting u home. I'm in at 7.30am so hoping they take me straight down x good luck for ur next journey of becoming a mum xx

Went well thanks Hun. Wind pain is bad but bearable. Did u take off yr bandage on yr belly yet?

I didn't want to take that bandage off - I was so scared of what was under it! I finally did, though, and it was good for it to heal. Went for my one-week checkup today and they took out the stitches - yuck! Now I have to clean it regularly and apply an ointment.

Due to the endometriosis he found (which I had no idea I had!), I am going on birth control pills for 3 months to manage it, then on Letrozole to stimulate ovulation. He's very hopeful we'll conceive, but I have to admit I'm a little sad that that's 3 months we can't be trying. But maybe it will be nice to have a break, not worry about BBT every single morning, etc.! Then I am ready to go!!

That's good that u get a check up. I don't get one! They found endo in me too but said I was ok to try on 2nd cycle. I've been having light bleed ever since op which is dark brown. Did u have anythin like this? Was yr endo quite bad?

He said I just have mild endometriosis, but the birth control should get rid of what he didn't get to in the surgery, and then my body will be in tip top shape!

I did have some bleeding. They said it would be normal for a few days, and just to let them know if it was anything more than spotting. I had some dark brown and even a little bright red at times, but it went away after a few days!

That's so sad that you don't get a followup! They didn't even charge me - all included as part of my surgery fees. I really love my new doctor. He and his staff are so amazing. They always make me feel so welcome!

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has had any success after the drilling? I had it done a week ago and am waiting patiently (or not so!) for some ov action......
