Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

I'm feeling sick today, definitely starting to come down with something. The major problem with working in a school, I'm always catching something.

Was hoping today's temp would drop again and so I might feel like I was headed toward O but :nope: Had a pretty big rise actually.

I'm getting so frustrated. My sister thinks my ovulation is delayed because of all the stress from this last month, which is logical. DH thinks it's because I weaned off of vitex and he suspects the only reason the last 4 months were so normal was because of vitex (he's probably right). I'm going to stay off vitex so that if things keep staying wacky I can show the doctor. Ugh. Okay, done ranting. :) Guess I need to just chill, and wait for O to come. :coffee:

What is "stimming" Kat?

I'm sure O is just a bit late and will come shortly. Could be stress, could be you stopping the Vitex although don't know much about Vitex as they don't have it here so never tried it.

Stimming is when you take hormones to make lots of follies for IVF. Going in this afternoon to see if I'm downregulated enough to start. I'm hoping I can start today and hopefully not have all these side effects from the Suprefact anymore. These past 5-6 days have been bad with the nausea and headaches :nope:

FX you get to start! :)

AFM, based on today's temp, FF is giving me dotted CHs but I don't buy it. I think today's temp is only as high as it was because of bad sleep. When I took it at 4:30am (30 minutes before I usually temp) I had been waking every hour or so for a few hours, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. I'll wait and see what tomorrow's temp is before I disregard it though.

Well it's crappy news: I have a cyst in my right ovary so need to downregulate 1 week more. I'm just so upset even though I know it's silly:cry: She seemed pretty confident that it'll go away but otherwise they'll have to go in and remove it. Also had a blood test to see what my hormones are like.

Next appointment is November 9th.

Ack, I have a cyst on my left ovary. I didn't know they wouldn't let you start stimulating your follicles if you had one? Is that an industry standard, or is it just something your personal doctor chooses to do/not do?

KatO: Oh no -_- yea I thought cysts were pretty regular stuff but maybe it's just "safer" to not have one. Cysts should definitely go away with time. I get why you'd be upset though, it just seems like one thing after the other, I'd be impatient too. But hope it'll be smoother after this one week.

Angel: I agree that O isn't obvious with your chart. Keep BDing :)

AFM, AF finally finished, waiting to O now. Also, not sure if anyone here celebrates halloween but DH and I carved pumpkins this past weekend. I'm showing it off everywhere cuz we're super proud of it:
pumpkin.jpg

It's two characters from the last airbender show: aang and his flying bison appa. We're big fans of the show (but not the movie) and highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. This is our second time carving and decided not to use a stencil and it actually worked! Anyways just wanted to share something lighthearted while we wait for stimming/O/BFP :)

Psycho - Nice pumpkins! DH and I just did some standard scary faces on ours. I've never watched The Last Airbender, but I've heard about it. I recognized the characters even if I couldn't have put names to them. :p

Did you get any compliments on your pumpkins from Trick-or-Treaters at all?

We actually had to go to a halloween party so we were only home for a couple of trick-or-treaters and I don't know if they really paid attention to the pumpkins. They were definitely extremely interested in the candies that we had LOL. I actually don't think kids right now know the show, it's fairly old. They'd probably know more about pokemon or frozen references. Although I'm actually pretty surprised at how many star wars costumes I saw on kids, that's also pretty old, surprised kids would be into that still.

Also my profile pic right now is a character from the last airbender too. :laugh2:

I dunno, you have to think that the parents who are fans of the show would share it with their kids, just like with Star Wars! lol

Ah well. They're awesome pumpkins anyway! I'm only just dipping my toes into Anime. Thus far, the only ones I'm familiar with outside of Pokemon and Digimon (from when I used to babysit after school! lol) are Sword Art Online and Attack on Titan. I liked those, so I was considering what to watch next... but I'm limited to what I can find on Netflix. I wonder if The Last Airbender's on there? I've heard good things about it.

I GOT A +OPK!!! :happydance: I almost didn't test today because when I came home from the gym I'd only had a 2 hour old and I'd drank a 20oz bottles of water while at the gym, but I went ahead and tested before my shower and WOOT! I almost wasn't sure, but confirmed with a solid smiley face on digi. :D (I've managed to make a pack of digi's last 6 months now. I'm so proud of myself).

Gonna try to BD tonight. Debating about not telling DH it was a +OPK and just trying to keep it "Spontaneous". We don't BD very often during the week, but I am trying to do it a little more often.

psychochick Those pumpkins are AMAZING. I haven't seen The Last Airbender but I've heard a lot about it. DH is a big anime fan so I usually end up watching whatever he's into. :haha:

I think that may be normal protocol. Don't know if it's because a cyst will decrease your egg count or what. They took a blood test to see if it's a fluid cyst or if it's a hormone cyst. If it's still there I think they'll remove it.

I'm just so scared this cycle will get cancelled or it means this will result in a higher chance of a BFN :(

I'm thinking it's because it affects your chances of egg count/quality or something and your chances of a successful cycle. So they don't want them. She mentioned something about removing it if it won't go away. They took blood to see what my hormones are like which I think was also to see if it's a hormone or fluid cyst as she called them. To make things more depressing while I was waiting to get blood taken I saw this father with a small baby girl and he was cuddling her and kissing her and it made me even more upset:cry:

Yep, I just feel like it's dumb luck after dumb luck with me:nope: First we find out we have unexplained infertility after TTCing just over a year, then have 6 failed medicated IUIs, have waited so long to be able to start IVF and now I'm one of the unfortunate few that develops a cyst during downregulation:cry: Everything else was looking good until she saw that cyst. I'm so scared this means the cycle will have less chance of success or will even be cancelled :nope: I know the head RE didn't seemed concerned (she happened to be the one to do my scan) but really, what's she gonna do, tell me I'm done for:nope:

Sorry, just so tired of crap constantly happening for me (also in regards to other aspects of my life) and really need to vent about it :(

BTW nice pumpkins :) We do have Halloween here (strangely enough since there is already a Danish equivalent in February) although it's not that widely celebrated. I was at my childish friend's birthday that day getting insulted by her spoiled little sister so didn't really get to celebrate.

Yay Angel :)

Ooo I've seen parts of sword art online, it's pretty interesting too. I've also heard of great things about Attack on Titan. You're definitely starting with very good animes. Last airbender's not on netflix I think, I watched it on amazon prime. It's free if you have prime membership. Also, I also thought Last Airbender is anime but it's not. At least it's not japanese anime, it's completely american made but the creators studied japanese anime and I would say it's very anime-like in style. That's honestly probably a big reason why the show's so good

There are some other animes on netflix that I've seen but I'm not sure I'd necessarily recommend them. We watched Knights of Sidonia a while back and I got really fed up with it; it was clearly made for teenage boys (a lot of female nudity) I don't know if Death Note's on netflix but that's a good one too.

Oo Angel, looks good to go! Good thing you didn't trust FF crosshairs. And this is why we need both OPKs AND temps.

KatO: Aww I know it feels like every step of the way has one obstacle after another, but none of them are showstoppers. It's just problems that need to be solved. I don't know if this helps but I was inspired after reading and also watching The Martian where he bumps into one problem after another in trying to survive, and he's like, you just keep solving them, one after another and eventually, you get to come home. Life is actually pretty boring without problems, and sometimes the joy is in being able to solve them. But it's still true that sometimes it can be very overwhelming, and that's why we're here to help you get through them :flower:

My biggest issue with AoT was that it's subbed. You HAVE to stare intently at the screen for the duration of the show, or you miss important dialogue! At least, you do if you don't speak Japanese, and I don't. And for someone who likes to multitask while Netflix plays, that's not the best arrangement. lol

I do have Amazon prime, so I might check that out. There are so many shows I need to catch up on though, it might be a long time before I get around to it! lol

Thanks:flower: Well I'm also referring to my life has also been lots of crap after each other (narcissistic family that has bullied me all my life, was bullied by kids in school, my father went senile when I was 13 and died of lymphoma when I was 20, fought so hard to get a job here but never could and now infertility).

I just hope this darn cyst goes away. If I see it again next week that'll stink because it may delay things even further if I have to make a new appointment to have it removed.

Have you (or anyone else) ever heard of Vitanica Pregnancy Prep? I only ask because both times I took it I got a BFP within two cycles. I am starting back up on it now that my HCG is back to 0. It has chasteberry tree extract in it as well but other things to support fertility. My naturopath recommended it to me. You can buy it on Amazon. Just a thought....sorry about your late AF, by the way. Those are the worst ones!:nope:

I've never heard of that! Maybe I'll try it after the new year if we haven't conceived by then.

No, I haven't heard of it. But the only cycle I got a BFP was one where I took chasteberry extract! I might try it again, but I need to wait and see what the infertility clinic folks say about my blood test results from yesterday.

I have at least THIS cycle to TTC naturally, and I'm really tempted to go back to taking the chasteberry extract. I know I shouldn't but it's soooo tempting. Haha

Nope haven't heard of it either but since I've already started with IVF I don't think I dare take anything during this time. Maybe if I was still trying naturally:shrug:

AFM nothing much going on. I haven't been having any twinges in my right ovary the last 2-3 days so hoping it's a good sign that my cyst is gone or close to it but will know for sure on Monday. Don't want to get my hopes up too much in case it's still there:wacko:

We saw 2 more houses yesterday and DH is planning on contacting his bank to see how much he can loan. He liked the more old fashioned house best and I was more into the more modern looking one:haha: We'll probably look at a few more before deciding though.
