Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

I haven't received any of my results yet but was told I would get them via email when they come back in.

when you all go to your appointments and they do bloodwork like for progesterone or estradiol or fsh or amh, do your docs tell you what your levels are? mine havent. I think I'm going to call them and ask for copies of my results so that I can review them.

Yes, they post all of mine on their portal, which I absolutely love. Even my regular doctor uses a portal for test results. It's come in very handy to be able to access and compare the results whenever I want. I would definitely ask them to see all of your results.

My normal doctor uses a portal and it's amazing. I love it. I registered with the Lab company (LabCorp) online and so when the labs that are done through them are processed I Get an email with results.I got my initial results on my insulin and blood sugars (all normal). Now I'm waiting for the rest of the results.

I would definitely ask if you can get access to your results, either through an online webportal or through the lab's website.

the portal thing sounds great. do all places have a portal? I'm going to ask. I don't know any results at all. have no clue. I wish they spent more time discussing things w me. going to need to directly ask and get the info.n if no portal them I want copies everytime.

I don't think so. It depends on the office. My last doctor didn't have a portal so I would get my results in the mail or I would have to contact him for them. My current doctor has the portal and it's amazing, but that's my general practitioner. My fertility clinic doesn't have one I don't think so the only thing I can get online is the stuff that is processed through LabCorp (the lab company does have one). If it's processed in their own lab I will have to wait for them to email me the results.

Speaking of which. . . I had my initial bloods taken last week on Wednesday and I've really been anxious to hear about the results. I know the results from the US and the HSG but I want to know my blood levels. :/ Would have hoped to get those by now. I have my next set of bloods and US on Monday morning so I am assuming they'll go over my previous results then. Those were just to get a base line for what everything looks like early in the cycle I think.

Not getting any luck starting a new thread about this, but do any of you have any favored basal body thermometers you prefer? I'm wanting to try a new one because mine gave me a half a degree difference reading after I did back to back readings this morning as an experiment. I'm not confident it's working right. Also due for AF tomorrow so want to get on ordering a new one. I've been a hot emotional mess all day so I give it 12 hours before AF shows up for her unwanted visit

My bbt thermometer is by babymad- sounds about right eh?! Just got it off amazon or eBay, it wasn't expensive but it works great.

mrs unicorn: Thanks for asking! AF is due today. I was a hot mess of emotions yesterday, had cramps this morning, and am super bloated. Kinda suprised AF hasn't started yet but figure it's just a matter of time. Broke down and took a couple hpt this week, both BFNs. At this point, if AF is gonna show, I'd rather it just start and get it over with. How are you doing?

Yeah I know what you mean, you just want it over with so you can move onto a new cycle.

I'm good thanks. Had a fairly dark opk today (cd9) which shocked me. I normally get a + cd12/13 so it's a bit early to be so dark. It wasn't positive though. Hopefully it'll stay the same or get a bit lighter over the next day or two.

Angel FXed for your results, hope you get them soon :flower:

star yeah feel free to ask them questions if there's something you don't understand. My REs where always great with answering questions and actually encouraged DH and I to ask about things.

FXed mrs unicorn you get your "Golden Egg" as I call it :dust:

AFM thought I'd update: got my Downs risk in and it's 1:4303:happydance::thumbup: It's calculated based on my age (36), levels of PAPP-A and free beta-HCG and the nuchal measurement (1.60 mm). If it was only based on my age, the risk would've otherwise been 1:246.

Yup exactly. And interesting news on the opk...maybe things are getting moving a bit early this cycle? either way, might as well get down for a little weekend BD :happydance:

Update: AF has arrived as scheduled. womp womp

Ewcm today! :happydance: Didn't BD yesterday like I wanted, but now that I have definite EWcm I'll make sure we :sex: tonight. DH will possiby tell me he's too tired, because he does have to work tomorrow (second week in a row of 6 day weeks) but he'll just have to deal with it. :haha:

Etis - I've used two different BBTs. I Can't remember the lst brand I had, I liked it okay, but when it died (at about a year) I switched to one by Easy@Home, and got it off amazon. The end that you stick in your mouth is a little bigger/bulkier (kind of an odd shape so I turn the thermometer sideways in my mouth for a more comfortable experience), but it has some featuers I really like: particularly the memory function where it stores the last 60 temps with easy recall, and a backlight (turns off after 5 seconds when temping so it doesn't keep me awake) and it was only about $20 or less on amazon.

Kat - that's great to hear! So glad things are looking good!

Thanks for the tip! I was looking at easy @ home reviews on Amazon but was skeptical because so many had the caveat that they got the device free or discounted in exchange for their review. Glad to hear from someone who has used it.

Also congrats on the ewcm!! You better get on that BDing!!
I'm making the best of my AF tonight with some wine, trashy tv, and a heating pad lol. Might as well enjoy the vino while I can :wine:

for some reason my email notifications for the thread have not been coming in and i thought the thread just went quiet for a while then i checked and saw many posts and had to re-subscribe to the thread to get notifications. weird.

anyway, angel good luck with the results! what bloods are you expecting and what results are you looking for?

enjoy the night! hope you find a thermometer you like. i have the easy @ home one too. i don't have any complaints about the thermomenter. but i do think temping is very iffy b/c sometimes i take it and it will be like .4 higher if the sheets are over my shoulder and then if the sheets are not over my shoulder its lower. now that makes sense, but if i wake up one night with them on me and on the other night with them off me there can be a big difference.

afm, just waiting. my temps are still high, but i still am very skeptical as to whether i ovd b/c im afraid the injections messed them up or that temps like opks don't work with me bc of my pcos and treatment. i very much hope this is not the case as it will be another tool that people use that i don't have access to. only time will tell. if FF is right and i did ovd, then i would be 13 dpo.

Kat - wonderful news!

Etis - sorry af arrived. Hope you enjoyed your wine and tv night!

Star - I think your chart is looking very neat and what you would expect pre and post ovulation. I hope I'm right. When is af due? Did you say another week before you might have to 'bring her on'?

Angel - wooop for fertile week! I'm there too. Fx it's our lucky cycle!
