Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

Etis- so glad everything is ok!

Do you happen to know what side your placenta is on? You can tell with high reliability what gender the baby will be at 6 weeks gestation.

Etis - yay!! I'm so glad!!! :hugs: that's awesome you get the early test free. My insurance won't pay even though I'm high risk unless I am 35+ or have prior chromosomal abnormalities so I have to wait until 20 weeks for the sex :( can't wait
To hear what you are having!!

Etis that's awesome!!! I'm so excited to see what your having. I'll be able to get that as well since I've been diagnosed with mthfr.

I'm happy to announce that, no matter how you measure first trimester (there are 3 different "dates" that people account for when it ends), I am officially 2nd Tri now. :D I'm so relieved!

Unfortunately that has come with an increase in headaches, more specifically migraines. I've had 2 in the last 7 days, both lasting two days each. :( Tylonel takes the edge off but that's about it. My only fix lately has been peppermint oil on my scalp, neck, forehead, and a hot bath with a bag of ice on my head/neck. 2 Tylonel before and 2 Tylonel after and it's reduced to a dull ache that I can try to sleep off :( I don't even like taking that much tylonel but my sister was told by her OB that the pain is worse for the baby than the meds at that point so I went with it. Her dr actually gave her migraine meds during pregnancy but hers are much more often and severe than mine. If it keeps up more frequently than once a week I'll call the OB for suggestions.

Really? My mthfr diagnosis didn't get me that. :( Might be the type though. I'm heteroA1.... which they deem as not very serious. My husband however is homoC.... and that is a cause for concern.

Etis, yayyyy! I'm so happy for you. What a relief that must be! How exciting to see the little cutie on scan and be reassured that all is well! Looking forward to your cell free dna results!

Angel, congrats on being into the second tri! Are you telling everyone yet? I have major migraines and my neurologist switched my meds bc I'm TTC. I'm on Prodrin as needed right now, which is apparently safe for pregnancy per him. It works way better than Tylenol but not quite as good as the stuff I would normally take. Perhaps you can ask about that?

AFM, 9 dpo here and started testing today. I had a slightly ambiguous Wondfo this morning, but I think it was just a shadow. Too bad though! I'll probably be testing twice a day until my period gets here now as that got me all antsy.

Thanks all! We are super relieved and excited. It's nice to be able to proceed knowing that things are going well for now.

I don't know what side the placenta is on. FWIW the yolk sac is directly in front of the baby in the ultrasound pictures--to the left of the baby. It looks like the baby is staring directly at it lol

Angel: It actually remains to be seen if insurance will cover it now that you mention it. My doctor just said that they offer it to people 35+. Who knows if my insurance accepts that. I have the appointment with a genetic counselor on August 1st and according to the scheduler I spoke to yesterday, that's the person who has to put the order in. So who knows, maybe I just got my hopes up for nothing. We'll see in a few weeks. I have three appointments within a week. First for the blood work, then a week later for the ultrasound that goes with the genetic testing, then my 4 week follow up the next day. Luckily my boss is aware and just had a baby himself a few weeks ago, so all the doctor's appointments won't be a surprise.

Good luck Miss Doc! Fx for ya

MissDoc - We announced on FB at 10 weeks. Now that I'm 2nd Tri I'm not going to avoid telling anyone but probably not blatantly bring it up either. Once I go back to teaching I"ll be far enough along that I"ll tell my students, but I think it'll start to be obvious by then.

Thanks for the tip for the migraines. I will check with my doctor. I don't usually take anything for mine becaues they are so rare and I can get away with a couple OTC Migraine pills (the tylonel/caffeine/advil kind).

Can't wait to see some of your line porn! :p

Etis - you should be able to get it covered since you are in the 35+ category. My insurance had implied that I could get mine covered if my doctor provided adequate reason, but they didn't think they could provide adequate reason with me only being high risk because of losses and not because of anything related to chromosomal abnormalities.

miss doc fx! hope you get that bfp in the next few days!

Angel - congrats on second tri! and hope your your migraines don't get worse.

etis - good luck w getting the free test. hope you get it.

afm. in the TWW. so just hoping it works. very thankful that I Oed and have a chance this cycle.

Angel Im c677t homozygous.. I was told that was the most serious one.

I'm just about out this month. Spotting and cramping, with period on the doorstep. Should be here within the next 24 hours most likely. I'm cramping like I've already started, but only spotting so far.

I will be getting my first round of lab work on CD 3 (which will likely be Tuesday) to look at hormones and the AMH test for ovarian reserves, and in two weeks they'll do a sono to see if things look sound structurally. Looking forward to getting that first line of testing done. :)

Sorry AF is on her way MissDoc, but at least you'll be able to start your testing. I remember being so glad when we could finally start our testing, only time I was excited for AF to arrive. :haha:

Good luck with your tests miss doc!

Afm I'm waiting till Thursday to test. I'll also have a blood test done on Thursday but figure I'll test in the morning too bc it takes until the end of the day usually to get the bloods tests. I've had tender breasts and I usually don't have that as an AF symptom. But could be a result from the trigger shot. If this cycle is a bust I'll know for next time not to read too much into symptoms. My fx.

Sorry about AF Miss Doc, but hopefully the tests will start getting you some answers that will help you along.

Good luck star! My boobs were super sore (and still are) on my pos. cycle, but I also didn't know what to make of it at first because that was an off and on PMS symptom for me. Just got a few more days until test time. Fx for you!

Your temps are holding strong star! Good luck!! Like Etis, my boobs were really sore my pos cycle but the slight soreness was an off and on thing for pms so I wasn't sure. My serious soreness didn't kick in until about 15dpo (about 5 days after the BFP).

AFM - I have an orange!! :happydance: 15 weeks today! This is a huge deal for me because my friend had her MC at 14 weeks and in my head that was my milestone, passing that mark. On the downside, these headaches and migraines are getting more frequent. Damn hormones. :(

Thanks, ladies! Started late Sat night so Sunday is counted as CD1 for testing purposes, so labs were bumped from today to tomorrow instead (they need to be on CD3). Looking forward to getting them done though. I'm not sure if I'm hoping something pops up or if I'm hoping for it all to be normal. I really feel torn.

Star-- I'm super hopeful for you and I hope those temps stay up and this cycle takes!

Angel-- 15 weeks is a great milestone! You must feel great relief. How sweet that you have a little orange. :) I'm so sorry about the headaches though. I understand how utterly terrible those are. Once I'm finally pregnant (when, not if!) I hope increased migraines don't come with the territory. I hate the ones I already get.

Etis-- Look at your little green olive, how cute! How are you feeling overall? Have you had any other bleeding?

Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones who have the opposite effect. when my sister was pregnant she stopped having migraines (she usually gets about one a week). She said it was teh best side effect of pregnancy for her. I rarely get migraines usually (a couple year max) and yet I've had 3 in 2 weeks. :( apparently I got the crappy end.

I'm feeling pretty fine, thanks for asking. Having some off and on issues with food that typically kicks in after work if it's going to kick in at all (other than the constant chicken and hamburger aversion I've developed). Still mainly craving sweets, which is definitely unusual for me. I'm not a huge sweets person normally. And, no, haven't had any more bleeding thank god/knock on wood. Fx that it was a one time thing!
