Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

Thanks so much Star! I'm really excited for your Friday transfer. That is majorly exciting! Fingers crossed for you :-D

Good luck Star!! :hugs: Keeping fx that everything goes well for your transfer!

star: Good luck on Friday, FXed for you! As to progesterone, I was given it dafter both of my IVFs and it was Crinone gel so afraid I'm not much help with dosage as I inserted it vaginally once every morning for 15 days, the first dosage taken right after the ET.

AFM I may either be carrying a large baby or have excess amniotic fluid as the midwife last Thursday couldn't feel how baby is positioned so going in for a scan on Friday. There always has to be something with this pregnancy:dohh:

Kat my god friend had the same issues.. Turns out the baby was just measuring really big...

Wow, how big:wacko:

I don't know why my baby would be big as neither DH or I are large people, I'm about 176 cm in height and DH is only 1-2 cm taller than me. There isn't any recent history of large babies on either side of our families, only his great-grandmother (on his mother's side) that had large babies (e.g. his grandfather). Plus don't have GD so shouldn't be any reason for baby measuring big. Although I know at our placenta scan, baby was measuring 1 week ahead in a couple of things but wasn't termed as "big" in that sense.

As for the progesterone dosage - I was taking 200mg 3x a day after my BFP because of how low my progesterone was. It made me really loopy and felt like crap for a few weeks until my body adjusted because before that I had almost none in my system. but push through!

Kat - hope everything is alright! I'm really hoping I do t end up with a huge baby but I'm finding anything is possible. Like you, neither DH or I are very big people and yet they said baby iseaauding in 85 percentile for age at my last US so I guess anything is possible.

Angel: Ugh, it's really odd. I have heard though that those measurements can sometimes be inaccurate and people that were told they were going to have big babies ended up with ones within the normal weight range. One can always hope, right:winkwink:

I'm just hoping I can use all the 0-3 months baby clothes DH and I bought as we bought so much (yep, I'm very addicted to buying baby clothes/booties ) and don't have much in the 1 size larger:wacko: Just stinks as I first had a very low-lying placenta that has luckily moved way up so was thinking I now avoided a C-section risk and now this to worry about:dohh:

Kat she was and is measuring four weeks ahead. She's 39 weeks and measuring 43 weeks..

Wow that's close to the difference I'm measuring as well. But have they scanned her to find out or is it just a guess that baby is big?

I had my first (super early) scan today, and it was glorious. Only 5 weeks 4 days, but saw the gestational sac, yolk sac, a fetal pole (measuring 1 day ahead), and a flicker of a heart beat but too early to measure the rate yet. Ah how utterly exciting! Keep growing little bean!

EEE! How exciting!! Congratulations! How long did it take yall to conceive? Has your husband had children before?

Green, no other kids from either of us, not even a BFP before this one. In last Nov we started NTNP, but the end of April/start of May we started actively trying. On our 5th cycle of actively trying we caught the egg. We were going to start IUI in a couple months, but it happened naturally for us. Best thing to ever happen in our lives so far!

Congrats Miss Doc!! We had our first US at 4w+6 (just a few days after my BFP) and didn't see much more than a little black spot, and then at our 5w+6 appointment I was able to see fetal pole and heartbeat flicker. It was so amazing. <3 Congrats!! Enjoy! :)

Missdoc - Huge congrats! How exciting!

Kat - Can't believe how close you are! And sorry to hear you have to have a scan to check baby's position. I'm so convinced I'm having a massive baby. My bump is huge, I'm measuring ahead and both my brother and I were big babies.

Angel - you're measuring ahead too? Do you look big?

Yay MissDoc, so exciting! Just wait until you can see your baby looking more like a baby and moving around, it's so amazing to see!

Actually the scan is mostly to see if baby is big or if I have excess amniotic fluid as the midwives want to know what they'll be dealing with when I go into labour. The midwife that saw me last wasn't concerned with either scenario although I've since read there are certain risks with having excess fluid e.g. cord coming out before baby during labour  But they're probably very unlikely risks, hence why she didn't seem concerned or even told me about them.

Angel-- Awww! It is so delicious, I could just eat up these adorable little scans. If I remember correctly, you had weekly scans too, right? I will have them until week 10 at least, about which I'm thrilled because I love the reassurance. My husband thinks I'm nuts and should decline them. Umm, nope! Every little chance I have to see that itty bitty bean I'm taking. :p

Kat-- Oh my gosh I can't wait. I can't even fathom the idea of seeing baby features in there! I'm still completely amazed by the idea that there's a little heartbeat in me. You are so close to having your little one in your arms and seeing the sweet face you've worked so hard for these past years. Ah how amazing that will be!

Jezika - I don't know that I'm actually measuring ahead, they didn't do a single length measurement at my last scan. Or at least didn't tell me what it was. But they told me she's at about 85 percentile for size so it's probable that she's a little ahead.

MissDoc - yep weekly scans. I loved it. Great reassurance and you'll be amazed at the changes in the scans in just a week! It's a phenomenal experience to have the weekly scans.

Yep it's so crazy! Never mind once you also start feeling movement which is also amazing and a bit surreal :happydance:

Looking forward to that although it'll be a bit bittersweet as I'll miss feeling baby in me, despite the discomforts I've been having

Hi, I'm posting here because you will all understand. I am 34 and WTT in Nov. But now I'm going to start a new job! The change is for the best, though there are some financial risks and a start up cost, but it's a great career opportunity for the long term. But I am stuck because I really want a baby, but I don't feel right working at a new practice knowing I will be trying soon. Should I wait longer to try? Or should I go ahead with plans TTC? My mum had her last child at 42, so I rely on that but u never know with genetics. Hearing your news makes me really excited and want my own, but I am unsure about whether i should? It's our age that makes things more difficult.
