Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

Glad your appointment went well Kat. I must say, I'm loving how excited you're sounding about getting injections :haha: Just kidding, I hope it won't be more painful than a prickle and that you'll get used to it quickly.

CD 17 today and I got a glaring positive OPK, for the first time ever. However, for the past 4 days or so I'd been having dark test lines, almost as dark or as dark as the control line (last night at 11.30 p.m despite drinking a lot before). I don't know if that's normal. I'm not temping so won't be able to confirm ovulation this month. No CM/ EWCM either.

I'm just so excited to get started, even if it means giving myself injections:haha::happydance: The nurse told me that most people don't feel the needle since it's so thin so here's hoping I'm like most people

Hmmm aren't OPKs considered positive once the test line is as dark as the control line (at least):-k Don't know what's normal either although I think it might be normal to have positive OPKs a day or two after the first one but am not sure either  Do you normally get EWCM when you're about to O? Maybe you should BD just in case:flower:

Kat, I'm glad to hear that the appointment went well and good luck with your injections - I'm no fan of needles myself....

Here's to hoping for :bfp: during the next two months for all of us hopefuls.

Oh wow Praying, how EXCITING, twin babies! :cloud9: :baby: Did you have any inkling?? Hope you'll still be popping in to give us updates.

Thanks for asking, I'm doing better but so impatient for a sticky baby, DH says I'm obsessed. I think I'm not ovulating since the miscarriage so it's stressful. Hope we'll all be joining you on the pregnancy boards in not too long!

I actually did! Well, the biggest clue was that three follicles were ready to ovulate at my pre-O ultrasound... I don't mind twins at all, but the thought of triplets was making me  !! So I kind of knew in the back of my head that 1, 2, or 3 could be in there. Then I started having dreams about twins, but I chalked it up to my friend just having twins on NYE. But I wasn't really all that surprised at the scan, especially after the insane amount of fatigue and all day m/s I've already had.

I definitely understand that impatient, obsessed feeling. Hooray for your positive OPK though, that's a great sign! :happydance: I think lots of ladies get "fade-in" results for several days before their positive where it gets really dark, but not quite positive. I had to go with the digital ones to tell me for sure because I never knew, those things are tricksy. I didn't have EWCM during O this time, I had a patch several days before, and then it was watery at times in the days leading up, so don't count yourself out! We used pre-seed anyway, not sure if that did the trick or not, there were lots of new things for this round. I hope you all do join us soon! :hugs:

Congrats to all the bfp and twins sound fun. I have had those dreams myself. I thought this might be my month with all the successes recently but I am out and am feeling jealous and impatient and like it won't happen for me. This sucks....

:happydance: for the +OPK and EWCM, very good signs, no wonder you're in a positive mood! Best of luck for a BFP!

Thanks! :flower:

Haha -- I thought I had come to terms with not having EWCM and I bought Pre-seed and everything. It wasn't really affecting my mood much, but I was determined to overcome that "handicap", if you want to call it that.

But then I was so ridiculously thrilled about it when it showed up, I guess I had been fooling myself into thinking I was OK with not having it! lol

Well, it's one less thing to stress about now, and that's always good!

My cycle went into overtime, I had some brown spotting for a day, then nothing for two days and started getting my hopes up, have now started heavier, normal looking spotting with more cramps, so am guessing I am out again. became quite upset about it today. Just waiting to see if full af turns up.

Awww sorry Cheekygringo:hugs: Hope AF doesn't really show:nope:

AFM I forgot to mention that when my SIL wrote to me she also wrote "Try Clomid!":dohh: I don't know why her and my sister (who went on Clomid and got pregnant with #2) keep saying this :nope: If I understand it correctly, Clomid is mostly for people who are having Oing issues, yes? Which isn't my issue, I'm Oing regularly, just seem to be problems with the :spermy: fertilizing the egg, maybe even getting up there in the first place. It's rather annoying and I have a competent RE on my case so I trust her judgement on what meds I need. I told her all this so hoping she stops with constantly telling me to try Clomid because it drives me nuts.

Thanks, I am more angry with myself to get my hopes up like that.. af did show, so onwards to next month.
I am thinking that was likely a cp, i stopped testing early ages ago, because I kept having cp, perhaps that's where the problem is? so will focus on that, perhaps I have a thin lining? my af cycle is very short, only 2 days really and some spotting. might try to take some natural products to try to thicken my lining. Which I'm sure wouldn't hurt in the long run.

Also Clomid can help make super eggs, which might help with the sperm being able to fertilize. But I'm guessing if they may be having trouble reaching the egg, it wouldn't help much and that looking at cervical mucus and making sure that is healthy would help the sperm more.

Yes it could be your lining but perhaps it's also egg quality:shrug: I've also heard that when you're in your 30s there is a higher chance of the egg dividing too quickly so it results in a bad division of chromosomes and that can lead to a CP.

The only negative I've heard about Clomid is that it dries you up:wacko: I would think maybe using Preseed or something like that may help with that though. Maybe I should ask my sister how she solved that issue:flower:

Kat- I still had EWCM with Clomid but we used pre-seed just in case :)

Ok that's good because I've heard Clomid dries some ladies out :winkwink:

AFM did my 3rd injection tonight and it went smoothly:thumbup: Think I'm getting used to sticking myself with needles and it's becoming easier and easier:haha:

Thanks, not much I can do for egg quality, so will just take some vitamins that are known to help the lining.

For mucus, I understand some people take mucinex. but vitamin e and evening primrose oil (some people said epo made cm too thick though) and drinking lots of water can also help promote more quality mucus.

I've heard that CoQ10 capsules (600 mg/day) can help improve egg quality. Don't know if you want to try that:shrug:

I had best luck just drinking more water for CM. EPO only slightly increased my CM but perhaps it'll work better for you if you try it:)

I was on the lowest dose though (50 mg), so some of the higher doses may do that.

You are so brave! I could stick others with needles all day (edit: that sounds really strange... I meant for IV purposes :winkwink:), but not myself, aahhhg!

Yes perhaps it has something to do with dosage, I never thought of that. Could also be it can affect women differently so many dry up but others don't.

Good thing you edited or yes, it would be worrying to read that  Well if it gives me my BFP, I'm all for sticking myself with as many needles as needed:happydance: I'm sure you could if you had been trying for a long time and it was your best option for a BFP:winkwink: After over 1 year of trying (1 year and 3 months), I'm game for just about anything now:happydance: The needles are also very thin so you don't feel them going in which makes it a bit easier. I'm using the Puregon Pen:winkwink:

Kat, I’m glad that injecting yourself doesn’t hurt, that must be a relief. Fingers crossed you’ll be pregnant soon! Yes I used to get good amounts of EWCM around ovulation but everything has changed since the miscarriage.

Praying, wow, didn’t know you’d seen 3 follicles. I would love twins but triplets would be too daunting. How are you doing?

cutestuff, I also sometimes feel jealous and like it won’t ever happen for me. :hugs: TTC is HARD !

ireadyermind, good luck for the 2WW.

Cheekygringo, sorry AF showed up after you got your hopes up. Each time I’ve been convinced I’m pregnant and tested / got a BFN, AF turned up a few hours later. Hope you’ll have better luck next month.

Yes it doesn't really hurt. I actually think if someone stuck me with one of these needles when I wasn't looking, I wouldn't notice it at all. But it still has length to it which was daunting at first:wacko:

I hope your body soons get back on track so you can get your super sticky BFP :dust:

Wow this thread has gone pretty quiet, anyone have any updates?

Got 2 more days of injectables to go and then my 2nd U/S on Friday to see when I can trigger. But since they're closed on Sundays the earliest I'll be able to trigger is Saturday I guess:wacko: We'll see. Hoping there are no more than 3 eggs in there because more than that and they'll cancel my IUI:dohh:

I had my hsg today. Tubes are open! But I have another procedure in the morning bc there may be a fibroid in there. Have to wait til morning to get all my lab results back too, since the doc forgot them at his office today.

Yay for open tubes drjo718:happydance: Hope all your lab results come back good as well:thumbup: But not so good news about that fibroid, if there is one:nope:
