Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

Yes, that's probably what will end up happening. Weird way to view friendships! It might also be because they're DH's friends' wives', not directly your friends if you see what I mean? They might be spending more time with their childhood friends or whatever, and the husbands just go along with whatever they say.

Actually DH is friends with most of the wives/husbands of his friends as he has a few female friends as well and in one case, two of the friends are married to each other. So the vast majority of the group are his direct friends (I'm just the jobless loser some of them just tolerate and that they have never shown much interest in making me feel welcome:wacko:). It was otherwise a pretty tightknit group since they met at the dorm and have maintained their friendships since. But seems as soon as they have a kid it's adios to the childless people :nope: They may get new friends by befriending the parents of the friends of their child(ren).

I don't think many friendships here are that strong, other than maybe the ones that became friends when they were small children. I've heard many say that sometimes friends distance themselves if you have some issues you're going through and need too much support. They're very much into solving your own issues so not always much support there.

I'm sure not everyone is like that so I hope you'll get to meet nicer friends!

Is it only the 2 of us left here now? I know a few other ladies, including deafgal, drjo, MissDoc and MrsTigger, pop in from time to time, but we seem to be the only regular ones.

Hope all the ladies who got a BFP are having good pregnancies.

Hollyness, and all those who are taking some time off, if you're reading, hope the break is doing you good and that everything is going well.

Xokittycatxo, are you temping?

No but I unfortunately think many feel this way:nope: People don't seem to be interested in making new friends, generally, after the college years. And since most my age have kids, they're not going to feel like they have anything in common with me:wacko:

I guess so, other than Xokittycatxo. Strange, would've thought our BFPs would check in on occasion and let us know how things are going:shrug: Praying did not too long ago but nothing from bighouse or MJs:shrug:

They're probably busy or tired (or both!) and don't come online as often.

Awww! I'm around... I check in on you ladies often and read your updates :flower: Can't wait to see more good news and have y'all join us in the 1st tri forum!

I'm just hanging out, 9.5 weeks along... I got to see the babies again this week-- they have arm and leg buds now, and looked like gummy bears! (movin' on up from their shrimp and then blob stages) I've been pretty sick and constantly worry that something will go wrong. DH has been gone on business (what else is new) so it's been a rough month here alone.

How many more days until testing Kat?

Just finished failed cycle 15. I had a us done and they think they found polyps. I have surgery planned to look, but they are not sure. I was starting to get excited thinking maybe I could be successful is our attempts for a bfp. However, last month I spotted two days before my period, that has never happened before. This month my cycle was only 24 days long, that has never happened either. Currently worried that even with my procedure I will still struggle as my cycle is now messing up. I don't want to live in the perpetual cycle of failed cycles anymore, but don't want to give up either. Hoping!

To be fair, I did mention you checked in not too long ago:winkwink: Was thinking more of bighouse and MJs not checking in since they announced their BFPs but maybe they just read and run:shrug:

I can understand you being nervous, I'll probably be a bit nervous the first 12 weeks or so when I do get my BFP:wacko: But great that things are looking good and it bodes well for a healthy and uneventful pregnancy:happydance:

At least 1 week (and 1 day to be precise), won't test before as the nurse told me to test 16 days after the IUI. If AF shows up, I might not though but we'll see, maybe I will anyway so I can tell the clinic I tested and it was a BFN. I'm otherwise expecting AF on Sunday but hoping she's no show:winkwink:

Im here ladies! Just saying quiet through this 2ww. I'm not much for symptom spotting, but I feel sooo nauseous today and its only 6dpo. Have also had sore nipples off and on, lots of creamy cm, and a couple pinching feelings in my uterus. I don't remember having any symptoms til after I found out I was pregnant with my mc, but I also wasn't trying at the time so I wasn't thinking anything was pregnancy related.

Ah, how exciting Kat! I'll be sure to keep checking back!

drjo- I had three follis ready to O on my BFP cycle (and two took!) here's to hoping three's the charm!

Sounds good Praying:flower: We'll see what happens, not having high hopes due to 17 failed cycles (including my chemical) even though this one was an IUI and should give me a higher chance of a BFP. But at least this way, I can only be pleasantly surprised:winkwink:

So you know how I said I was really nauseous today? I tried some soup and lemon water to setitle my stomach and took anti-nausea meds. Nothing helped. Then I went to the mechanic to pick up my car and got sick in the bathroom, vomiting everywhere. I barely made it to the trashcan, and it splattered all over the wall and floor. The trash liner fell into the can and puke went everywhere. Then I cleaned it all up and washed out the can in the sink and had to ask the guy for trash bags. He gave me the weirdest look. Fortunately there was a gas station next door so I took my garbage and threw it away outside there. So embarrassing! !

Hey ladies, good to hear from you !

Praying, 9.5 weeks already, wow! Awww for little gummy bears. I think the stress never ends when you’re pregnant but if you’ve seen them moving around etc, your odds of anything bad happening are very low :hugs: We’d love to hear how your pregnancy is progressing so do stick around.

dede, I hope the surgery will help you get a BFP quickly. Don’t worry too much about the spotting before your period or your shorter cycles, 24 days is on the short end but still in the norm. I started getting discharge 2 to 4 days before my period just before we started TTC, so I freaked out but my OB/Gyn said it’s not a problem. I did end up pregnant despite that so I suppose it doesn’t affect ovulation.

drjo, poor you! I’m sure they won’t know what happened since you cleaned up everything. I’m cautiously excited for you (and wondering if we’re going to have another set of twins)! When can you test?

Thanks fleur! I'm 7dpo today and have my progesterone draw late this morning. I havent decided when to test yet. Last pregnancy I got a negative at 10dpo and didn't test again til 15dpo when AF was late.
I'd like to think the nausea and vomiting are a sign of pregnancy, but I'm starting to think I may have a kidney stone. Excruciating back pain kicked in earlier and nothing is taking it away. Not pain meds, not a hot bath, not a back heat/massage pad. I've also had chills and my temp is now 100.7. Unfortunately I'm not sure how the clinic or er would diagnose me since I will refuse a ct scan due to possible early pregnancy. I'm not doing anything to risk these potential babies.

Oh no! Wouldn't a blood test (and probably urine test as well) give some idea of what's going on without having to get scanned?
Hope it's nothing serious and you're able to get rid of it quickly :hugs:

Hello, I'm still hanging around the thread, though I usually read and run. I try not to get on the forum too much through the tww as it can become all consuming while waiting...
Glad to hear the current bfp are doing well, and I hope to see some more on here soon!

Thanks. A urine test would likely show blood, and they may run a metabolic panel to assess kidney function, but those aren't exclusive diagnoses. An ultrasound would only show a stone if it were large. I just wonder if they would treat me without a definite diagnosis.

Hello Cheekygringo, I hear you about obsessing during the 2WW. Anyway we're here if you need to talk / rant :flower:

drjo, I've never made the link before but are you in the medical field? You sound quite knowledgeable about metabolic panels etc. I hope you'll find a solution for treatment!

Wow drjo718, that doesn't sound pleasant, so sorry you're feeling ill:wacko: I hope it's not anything bad:nope:

AFM still not feeling too hopeful. I still have sore/pain in my breasts but think it has lessened a teeny bit. I'm of course not giving up entirely until AF shows up as I'm well aware that symptoms or lack/lessening of them can be misleading. Definitely won't test until Tuesday morning as AF has on occasion come 1-2 days later than expected.

Worse case scenario I'll be looking forward to IUI #2 which is a lot better than continuing with my hopeless natural cycles:dohh:

Sorry if I sound a bit negative but I've just had my hopes up too many times and been sorely disappointed and upset when AF showed up :nope:

Hi Ladies - I still keep up on this thread and check in to see how everyone is doing. I have my FIRST appointment tomorrow morning and I'm so nervous. I haven't had many symptoms - the morning (all day really) sickness comes and goes. I've been taking my progesterone every night....so far no spotting with this pregnancy, which is good. I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow. I'll report back and let you know how it goes. Most of the other ladies on the boards who had a miscarriage got to see their doctor's for a confirmation at 6 weeks, but my doc won't see me until 8 weeks at the very earliest so it's been like a month-long TWW....I can't even say for *sure* that I'm really pregnant! I'm so happy to just know for sure one way or the other tomorrow.
