Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

dede, have you heard back from your doctor?

Kat, I’m glad you had a good birthday and some nice gifts from DH. I also stress about having everything clean before people come over. Good luck for this cycle even if you’re not feeling hopeful.

oldermummy, I have no idea, sorry!

cutestuff, I know how you feel, I didn’t believe there was a baby in there till I saw it at the ultrasound… And after each ultrasound I start wondering again if everything’s going OK in there! How many weeks are you now? Don’t worry about the reduced symptoms, it happens.

TexMel, how is your pregnancy going?

drjo, hope AF has turned up!

It is good to know I am not the only one.... I am 7 weeks 5 days today... I have a noticeable (to me and DH) bump going which is fun. No one really tells you that no matter how much you try for that positive, the first 8 weeks are torture. If you have lots of symptoms, there is your torture, or you spend that time poking and prodding yourself just to make sure any changes you did notice are still around :dohh:....

I too am interested Texmel. I know you were a bit worried and it would be good to know how that turned out.

Drjo, hope you are well and I hope both you and Kat get your BFPs soon.:hugs:

Thanks ladies! AF turned up yesterday on CD 55. Surgery is scheduled for the 15th. So glad to finally be moving forward. I'm not sure if af came bc of provera (in which case it took 9 days after my last dose) or if it came bc it was 14 days after ovulation, which is my normal LP. So I don't know if I'll need provera again since my cycles are long and unpredictable or if maybe I'll ovulate earlier. Either way, I may not have another chance to ttc until the beginning of july. We're planning a honeymoon in hawaii in october, so I'm hoping everything works out timing-wise.

Hey ladies! Thanks for asking!

I'm doing great! If I remember correctly, I was worried a few weeks ago bc all symptoms disappeared overnight. Well, they have stayed gone, but turns out it is totally fine. Saw baby for just a couple seconds on a scan last week, saw it swimming around and it even did a flip. Actually going back next Monday for a longer scan and the NT screening. I am just a day away from 12 weeks and I feel almost no symptoms at all (not complaining one bit). My waist line has definitely started to grow, but not exactly showing yet. Bought a few maternity shirts more for their length than anything. I think I will announce to fb on either Mother's Day (Sunday in the US) or Monday (the day of my scan). Most of our friends already know anyway.

Thinking we will find out the gender sometime in June, but my intuition is strongly leaning towards boy.

Sending babydust to those of you still ttc. I know it's a hard road, but we are here for you. Will keep you updated. Hugs!

dede, keep us updated on what the doctor says.

cutestuff, yep, I find a new thing to worry about every day! The first trimester you do keep wondering because you don’t feel the baby yet. Don’t think I’ll be completely convinced till he/she’s here safe and sound honestly!

drjo, yay for AF finally turning up! I hope that things will move forward quickly after your surgery. Did you get married recently? It would be fun to have a babymoon in Hawaii ;)

TexMel, glad you’re feeling more reassured after seeing the baby. Actually it seems that lots of women don’t really have symptoms. Happy 12 weeks, update us after your next scan!

So I'm sure that I've Oed since my CM has dried up so now it's a waiting game. But my hopes are still extremly low:nope: With a 6% chance of conceiving naturally, it doesn't look good. Would love to move on and start IVF but the hospital doesn't have a place for us yet. Although they did call DH since he wrote on his form he'd had hepatitis as a kid and they wanted to know what kind but already assumed it wasn't the "bad" kind as his SA looked pretty good. So we know they got all the forms and journals.

Almost not looking forward to my party on Saturday as my narcissitic mother will start talking about how material-wise I was spoiled as a child and will go on and on about it, like she does every year:nope::dohh: It's just so embarrassing. I'm almost hoping she creates a scene like she did a couple of years ago a few days before and refuses to come which will also give me a "reason" to go no contact on her. Ugggh:dohh:

Anyway glad to hear everyone is doing well:flower:

Kat, you never know.... the cycle I got my bfp I dont think I was thinking about pregnancy at all. I was doing OPKs but I dont think I really planned anything out, it just happened. And maybe because your on a break and not really thinking it will happen, you will get a nice surprise... At least I will hope so :flower:
AFM: yes, I am paranoidily (dont know if thats a word) waiting for Monday. Literally counting down the days...I already have a plan to tell my parents sometime next week... I am thinking I will get a mothers day card that is directed to a grandma and put the due date in there and have her look down to see a scan......
I do have a question though... I think I told you ladies that I had told my sister about the pregnancy because she was asking me questions about my fertility and I did not feel right hiding it in that situation only to surprise her a few months later but now I am finding myself wondering what to do. I would like to talk to her and tell her it took me a while and that the baby is fine and the due date, but a big part of me wonders if I should have her bring it up and just let it go. What do you all think????

Hi dede, Im new to the group. I saw you under went a hestorscopy? I will having this done on the 26th. How was it? I have a polyp the dr. found that they will be removing. TTC for 3 years. Any advice?

donkcf - the procedure and recovery weren't bad at all. Make sure they do pathology of your endometrium, they found infection in mine. I also have done follow up tests on the endometrium, confirmed infection was gone, and ultrasounds to check the polyps. They keep thinking they are finding more polyps, but I haven't heard back from the specialist yet.

My advice would be to make sure you take the day after off, or a couple days if you can. It took me a while to get the meds out of my system. Also, a heating pad helped me a lot. :)

Dede, you only took a couple days off? My doc requires 10 days off work after a hysteroscopy. Mine is for a fibroid removal, not polyps, but I can't imagine it's much different.

Drip - I had two days off after, was weekend. Back to work on Monday, little too early. I don't know what the difference

joining! i'm 33 and SO is 31. we've only had 2 cycles for ttc#1. the first cycle, we were just sort of winging it, i didn't monitor my ovulation etc. for cycle #2 i used opk and monitored my cm closely. i really think we timed bd really well, but sadly, spotting started 12 and 13 dpo(my usual sign that af is coming).

i've had regular cycles all my life(28-32 days), but we will be seeing a doctor after af just to see if everything's in order.

31 here, with a 32 year old partner :hi:
Have you planned to start trying for a while? We haven't officially started with the monitoring yet, so that whole world is new to me. I hope everything is in order and that you will get a bfp soon <3

@RachelMarie, we just got married this past February, and at first we thought, if the baby will come, he/she will come. when i got af the first cycle, it hit us hard, so we realized we really wanted to try seriously next cycle.

this whole thing is new to me too. trust me, i've done a lot of googling and had to get a hang of all the acronyms.

are you actively ttc?

Welcome RachelMarie and moonstar_004

moonstar_004, it can take up to 1 year to conceive and still be considered normal. At your age, you wouldn't be able to start any assisted conception until after 1 year of TTC. You only have a 15-20% chance each month of getting a BFP even if you time things right. So it can take a few cycles. Anyone that gets a BFP in their first 2-3 cycles is just lucky.

I hope your BFPs come quickly! I've been trying for over 1½ years (1 year, 7 months) and had my 4th IUI fail and wouldn't wish infertility on anybody! I just very recently turned 36 and my DH is 37, going on 38 BTW.

@moonstar_004

The acronyms confuse me a bit, but I'm starting to get the hang of some

Belated congratulations on the wedding though!

actively ttc, but just now starting to really get into the details of it all <3
I've kinda been avoiding reading up on everything before we decided to start trying, because I've been longing to be a Mom for so long that it would just be painful to read. But finally I'm able to do it, and enjoying every minute of learning!

@KatO79 i know we'd be very lucky to conceive this soon, but one can hope right? :)

@RachelMarie, fx to us! Will be keeping an eye on this thread. :)

Welcome Rachel and moonstar!

Just dropping in to update... Had my 12 week scan today and it went well! Got to see baby's brain and heart valves pumping and feet and legs kicking. At one point it was laying with a hand over the face. So sweet! I'm so in love!

Made it fb official today, so here's what I posted on there...

Nice Texmel

Welcome newbies

AFM... I got to go to the doctor yesterday for my first prenatal appointment. The gave me a pap which, is causing some spotting, but they said not to worry, so I am keeping a close eye on it and if it gets painful or worse, I will take myself to the ER.... That said, I got to see the baby yesterday... Measures right on track for a due date of December 18. I also wanted to say it can be completely normal to have no symptoms or to feel amazing after having symptoms for a while and still have everything be okay. I have learned to take each day as it comes. Apparently I now only have a 5% chance of miscarriage so I have told my siblings and will tell my parents tomorrow and then my grandparents sometime later this week...
It was such a trip seeing the heartbeat and that there was blood flow....So wierd

Kat, how was your birthday party? Hope everyone behaved and it went off smoothly!

TexMel, congrats on the great scan! So amazing that you got to see the brain etc, we certainly couldn’t see so much detail at my 12 week scan so I’m still wondering if everything’s ok with the baby.

cutestuff, has the spotting stopped? Yay for baby measuring right on track! Hope you’ll be able to relax a bit now. Are you 12 weeks already?

dede, drjo, any news/updates?

Welcome and good luck to the newcomers :flower:

Yes everything went fine:flower: I think my mother started to say something but someone managed to get her to stop. I wasn't paying much attention since DH and I were super busy with preparing dinner. We'd gotten 2 large cod we had to clean ourselves:wacko: Luckily my MIL told us what to do as we didn't really know. We prepared a mussel sauce and some potatoes and then had some beetroots/red beets on the side, all served with a white wine (a semillion chardonnay). For dessert, tiramisu, served with a sweet port wine:happydance: Afterwards there was coffee/tea with some candy and people could have cognac or Baileys. After that, was some beer or soda.
