Anyone TTC #1 and 30 or older?

Hi everyone!

Well, my period of last week turned out to NOT be a period! And hypothyroid and all, I got my BFP on Sunday morning, on cycle #9. I had my first infertility appointment on Friday, so I can still hardly believe it.

I am CHEERING EVERYONE ON HERE!! It was a hard road, and my fingers are crossed that this little bean sticks!

Congratulations! :D

Congrats Katie, healthy and happy 9 months to you:flower:

FXed W8ting! Have never actually had a BFP (although I'm 98% sure I experienced a chemical in April 2014) so can't help you with the IB thing since any bleeding I've ever had has been a precursor to or is AF:nope:

No! Just got off BC in March after 14 years, was gone for 2 months (trip to the USA w/out hubby), this month was our first 'real' try TTC, BD every day for 3 days leading up to O day. Never any bleeding outside of AF ever before. But, like I said was on BC forever, so also getting used to what O feels like since I didn't for 14 years! Thankfully I know I have been O'ing due to symptoms and last month OPK confirmed I O on day 14. I am also a religious CM checker and this month on day 14, EW :)

Umm I was just saying that any bleeding I've had has been AF or a precursor to AF, not saying that's the case for you. Just saying I have no experience in IB and don't know much so can't give you any advice on if it is or not:confused:

Welp, AF arrived right on schedule for me. But now that means DH and I can go back to TTC this cycle. Woo! Haha

Hopefully I can get another BFP, only this time it will be one that STICKS!

Ok I'm losing my mind here...
after 16 months of trying, multiple medications amd vitamins every month, 2 procedures and a surgery...I think I may have a bfp. This is 3rd urine of the day. I tested on a whim. I think I'm 9/10 dpo. I use opks and temp. Someone tell me I'm not seeing things.

I see it too drjo, congrats:flower:

Congrats to you too W8ting:flower:

Happy and healthy 9 months to you both!

AFM nothing interesting to report. I believe I'm 6 dpo but I'm like 98% sure I won't get pregnant naturally so only keeping track to see if the royal jelly delays AF again. Otherwise I'll stop taking it if it does and then start again around CD3-4 when my AF bleeding is brown spotting. Or should I start taking it a bit before in that case?

Congrats w8ting!

Kat I know nothing about royal jelly so I'm of no help.

Here's my frer to confirm. This was 8th urine of the day after a 45 minute hold. I'm a little nervous now that this is ectopic or molar due to the strong line. Trying to stay positive!

Wow congrats to the new BFPs! So exciting! ^^

AFM -- Had another blood draw over the weekend. We're going to work on getting my hormone levels where they should be, and hopefully that will help me get my sticky bean!

That can make a huge difference!! I swear my vitamin d was soooo low, and I conceived after being on it for 2 months. Not saying it was all that, but off-levels can affect fertility so it's great you're getting all of that checked!

So many congratulations to all of the BFPs, both old and new faces :D Happy and Healthy 9 months to all of you! :baby:

I had a whooole bunch of stuff checked last month. All of it came back normal except testosterone. I already knew that'd be out of whack because I still have acne (once I hit puberty, the acne never went away, and I'm turning 31 this December), hair growth in interesting places, and problems with my weight.

It's just nice having proof of the problem now, instead of physicians telling me "that just happens sometimes" and never looking into it further.

I had a re-draw over the weekend to double-check the testosterone levels. I'm interested to see what the results say.

Hi Holynesss are you back actively TTCing again? If so, welcome back:flower: How have you been doing?

Yes, I'm back in the game. On CD14 of cycle 1, but no signs of O quite yet.

I've been great, but busy! Moved into our new house and graduated with my Masters in the last two months.

I've been lurking and keeping up on everyone, just wasn't up for actively participating until recently.

How is everyone?

Hey ladies! :flower:

I am 30, husband is 33, and this is our 3rd cycle TTC #1.

TTC is hard for everyone, but being at this stage in my life, I feel an added pressure. I have zero regrets waiting this long to TTC. I am in a much better place emotionally and financially than I was in my 20s, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

However, I can't ignore that nagging fear in the back of my head that the clock is ticking. I'm hoping for a short or even average journey to motherhood!

Heh I'm exactly the same! I'm 30, DH 33, 4th cycle TTC #1. I had originally thought I'd be trying at like 28 but my last relationship didn't work out and I'm frankly thankful I met DH in time to even get settled before I turned 30. My mom definitely spent a good chunk of time in my 20's reminding me my biological clock is ticking. So when I first started TTC I was really anxious that I had already missed my peak. Maybe I have but after joining this forum I saw that getting pregnant is just not that easy so I feel a lot more ok with it now.

However after joining this forum I realized how many people out there are having kids at like 20! I felt kind of old but then seeing even 20 year olds struggle TTC also made me feel less guilty :)

Wow congrats on the degree and the new house:thumbup:

Hope O is just around the corner for you:flower:

AFM all 6 IUIs with injectables failed (not even a chemical to show for it) so waiting to start IVF around October as our first appointment with the hospital is September 28th and we can first start after that. Until then we're NTNP. I'm 7 dpo right now.

Welcome psychochick:flower: Yeah getting a BFP seems to be easy for some and harder for others. Age doesn't always figure into it, I've seen early 20-somethings struggle and mid-late 30-somethings that got pregnant pretty quickly. Your chances are normally around 20% each month for the first 3-4 months trying and then the odds go gradually downhill after that :( Hope your journey is short, being an LTTTCer myself, I know how much it stinks otherwise. So hope your BFP comes soon :dust:

Welcome back holly! Congrats on the degree!

My bloodwork yesterday showed hcg 128 and progesterone in the 70s. Yay!

Welcome back holly. Congrats on your degree and house. I completed my masters degree before ttc and it made me feel better about ttc because I knew I could do more with my life.
Congrats on the new bfps. Ladies still waiting it won't get easier to watch others get what you want but once you do get it you will appreciate all the symptoms all the ups and downs that much more than those who get pregnant easily. It took me start to finish about 9 months. Half of that was not well timed but you always think it will be easier.
Afm... currently almost 24 weeks pregnant with a little girl. I still lurk and respond and am happy to talk about my experiences if desired....good luck and baby dust to all
