Does anyone else HATE cooking ? I want to be able to cook for Lucas when I start weaning him but don't want to be getting into anything to fancy otherwise my head will explode.

Was thinking of buying the annabelle karmel book, anyone got this ? xx

babyled weaning, I was wondering exactly what is was, but it wld seem it's nothing particular. Also you cldn't start with a young baby.

I think on reading more about it, I will prob do a mixture of it, start with soft foods, then as soon as she's got her grasp sorted start babyled weaning, although looking back I kinda did both wth son.

Morning everyone !

Guess what Lucas slept until 4am !!!! Maybe one day I will be saying he slept all the way through !

He had his last feed at 10pm so im pretty chuffed he went so long, the downside is he didn't actually go to sleep until past 11pm and he kept waking us up by shuffling about in his sleep.

Woo hoo alex is 10lb 5oz , he is above the 50th centile for his adjusted age now, yet again prob because he hasnt had a dirty nappy in 3 days again!! just come from back from baby massage with him, he loved it!!

wow i hadnt seen that weight chart my son really is a chunk spoke to the doctor today and its been decided that i try Oscar on baby rice as he's clearing 9oz's of hungrier baby milk every 2-3 hours, i dont know where he puts it all! he had his injections today too and he never batted an eyelid - gonna be a right tough nut! he's off that centile graph thing, his hands are like shovels and his feet are like boats lol! he's a beaut x

Its baking here also, I have put Oscar to bed in a vest with a muslim cloth over him as he likes to be covered, i'm sure i'm slowly turning into a puddle its going to get worse as the week rolls on too ladies! anyone escaped the thunderstorms? we had a bad one around 8pm thought it would clear the air a little but xx

aww, little chunkster Oscar, I'm glad doc is encouraging you though, my son was on 10 oz every few hrs and people still ill advised weaning, he was having three meals a day by six months.

Olivia is doing well we have the last lot of injections tomor! eeek! three, Olivia is a nightmare with them she screams so loud, and for so long then she's unsettled for a week after!

I think they judge you on there own babies but there all different, ive noticed theres quite a few weaning police floating about its a well touchy subject! shame really as it puts people off trying to get the advice they want, glad your lo is doing well, be nice to get the last lot of injections out the way, Oscar only had his first lot today xx

Hello ladies,

Funny because my MIL suggested trying Ridley on baby rice l.. no way !! just because she did with my OH ...it wouldnt suprise me if she starts feeding him it when he is round there when she looks after him. With OH sisters children she does what she wants with them .... and they'll go back to mummy and she will say oh I tried Hope on the potty today !! nuts isnt it surely its the mummies place to do all that??

i'd be furious if my mil or my mum tried
doing anything before me!!

im gonna try emily with some baby
rice in a couple of weeks, tried a tiny
bit of smooshed banana and she loved it
but her poo didn't lol

i'd like her to be having one or two baby meals
a day by the time shes 6/7 months
just makes life easier
she doesn't take alot of baby milk at one time
but she wants a bottle 1 or 2 hours
scary how big all our babies are getting lol

my brother was on baby food by 3 months
because he was a HUGE baby milk just didn't
feel him up .. think it just depends on the baby

A quick update from me ladies - had Oscar weighed today and he's 16lb 10 oz's now the HV told me to start the baby rice also, she said she had never told anyone to wean this early before but Oscars just Oscar! I made up 1oz of formula with a spoon of rice in it and he ate half of it, he had a big bottle on top and seems nice and settled for now so fingers crossed xx
