Beach Bump Graduates!

Thanks Georgie - I decided to take a look and it doesn't actually look bad after all so I am actually weirdly reassured. Hopefully it will go down soon too. Hope yours gets better. I will try the tea tree oil trick.

I might be able to meet in Guildford, its not far at all so definitely let me know if you plan a meet up.

BV - love the latest Jill photo!

Caz - hope it goes well at the doctors

I've managed to add details to the front page now sorry for the delay. I didn't have all the details for Tors baby - if anyone has these please let me know. :)

Annabelle is crying so got to go feed her. I have photos to attach but will do those in just a bit instead.

I know Tor's daughters name is Jadelin but I don't know her weight, I'm sure she'll be on soon.

Afternoon all. Just back from Harry's graduation party at nursery which was lovely. He had a little gown and mortarboard and everything! So sweet. The chucked a little disco afterwards with music and a party tea. Lovely. I met the mum of the only other little girl from the nursery that's going to Harry's school so that was nice.

Soph is a bit bunged up I think. which is odd as I didn't think they could get constipated on breast milk? Anyway she hasn't pooed since yesterday morning and has been ripping out the most DISGUSTING farts ever. I'd be more proud if she wasn't making me heave...

Joshua seemed bunged up too but i have been assured 1 poo in 24hours is enough...

Thanks Doods - added that in and will wait to hear from Tor.

I think I have everyone updated now.

Linds - I didn't know they could get constipated but why not really? Hope she feels okay soon though. Annabelle has just started doing proper poos so she is growing up already arrr

Just posted some photos of her on the beach bumps site and onto my fb page for anyone interested.

I don't know if anyone has seen but i have added a graduate bumps banner to the front page if you want to use that.

Freckles - going to try some moses basket settling ideas tonight, will keep you posted!

Hann the pics on FB are gorgeous! Annabelle is so beautiful!

Hann - She is beautiful! So small! Am impressed you have a pic of all 3 of you together. Joshua is 15 days and we still dont have one as a 'family' :S

Thanks Georgie - my sister took it for us. I'm hoping to get more this weekend too.
I don't want to miss any of it so constantly taking photos!

Hi all, quick question how long dothose of you who are not latching on to the breast but expressing express for? I can get so much out of the breast now but want to ensure he gets the hind milk too? Thanks all.

We have stopped him latching now and I'm expressing and we are also forumla feeding.

x

Linds - Have Sophs milk spots cleared up? I think Joshua has them?? He looks like a spotty teanager!!

Caz - I dont know the answer to that as my boobs never seemed to go dry I use to get 2 oz of one boob then went to the other and got about 2 oz aswell. Took awhile to build up to that too. Dont worry too much because he is also having formula so has the best of both worlds.

Only advice i have is give the formula in the evenings as he will sleep longer as it takes longer to digest.

yep, still there, she looks like she has plague.... :growlmad:

am slapping aqueous cream all over her after her baths. thats it.

Thanks Clare - we fed him formula all day and he slept amazingly and we fed him at 6 pm with breast milk expressed and he has been miserable ever since! We plan to do the 10 pm feed with formula!

Fingers crossed for a better nights sleep all round! x

just a quickie from me.

hugs to all of you who have decided to switch to ff for whatever reason. You are all incredible mummys and whether your baby is bf or ff doesn't matter a jot as long as you and your baby are happy, and there is no reason to feel guilty for wanting to have a happy baby.

caz - sorry you are feeling down honey but at least you have recognised it and can get help.

your meet up sounds great for those of you living in SE england bet you will have a great time with all those gorgeous babies.

doods totally in awe of your bf exploits. I managed to bf in the bank whilst we were opening an account for Logan as there was no way he would wait! and an hour later in cafe nero. Getting quite adapt at getting my massive boobies out in public lol.

For those of you with infected wounds my mw gave me some gauze strips to place over my wound as she felt it was because the two layers of skin were touching each other and causing it to sweat. The gauze is just folded over and placed loosely over my wound and I replace it a couple of times a day, seems to be helping. My sil also said there were honey impregnated gauzes to help wouds heal but haven't looked into these yet.

Yay for the public bf Curlew! Who knew getting your norks out in public could be so fun?! pmsl!!

BV - I think light excercise should be fine. I was told to make sure to excercise as long as it's walking. So when we went into the city to see the pediatrician (Daniel made the 1 1/2 hour trip like a trooper) we went to the mall and I just pushed him around and around in his stroller. It felt so good to be moving again.

Caz - sorry you're feeling down. I spent two whole days crying until I decided to switch to FF. I was an absolute wreck. I had mentioned to my doctor my concern about devleoping PPD while I was still pregnant so every health staff I come across now ask about it...even the pediatrician. It's good to have somone to check up on you. Glad you're getting help.

Pumping isn't going as well as I had hoped. After two whole pumping sessions I have only managed to get about 40mL. Daniel needs about 60mL for a single feeding. The public health nurse called today and said if I continue to pump it should increase. I hope so. It's kind of nuts. I hand express between pump sessions but that only produces a few drops. Yet I can still leak through a sweater...:dohh:

And Daniel is constipated today. Pooping is giving him grief. He is fussier than usual and just wails when it passes. So he is farting and pooping (two big ones today) but it is clearly painful. He is fussing right now and nothing seems to help. I pump his legs or rub the bottoms of his feet. The one poop went OK when we watered down his formula slightly. I'll have to try that again. After this I will have to try switching forumulas. The hospital gave us Enfamil which seemed to work fine but DH bought this big tub of some no-name brand. It's also iron-fortified which might be what is bunging him up. I just feel really bad for him. :(

Oh and here is a photo

whoops. no photo. computer is being dumb so I'l try later. and baby is fussing so gotta go...

My milk came in over the past few hours! I have massive boobs!!

Morning all. V chuffed as soph slept over 5 hours straight. Yihar! Just letting her settle again before I stick her in her basket.

Okay question for those BF, I've been feeding one breast at a time but now my milk is in should I do both? She just did 40 minutes on one side and didn't want the other side but I don't want to get engirgement on each side not being drained so should I stop her earlier and get her to drain the other boob a bit or will I be fine to just do one side at a time still?
