Beach Bump Graduates!

Eve you have lost inches of bump already and look fab!
I think while it's nice to chat about weight and where you are it's important to remember that really in the scheme of things it's not about how quickly you lose the weight, everyone should do what ever they are able and comfortable with and there are more important things to be thinking about! Sermon over!! Lol

Just had a very chilled out night, take away sushi and a glass of wine, how much I have missed sushi!! The whole 2 hours Annabelle sat in the swing content as ever. Amazing! Now we are having an evening skin on skin feed, sounds delightful but she has dropped a bomb so is a bit stinky!!

Bec - I have made some progression with the Moses basket!
She slept in there for 1.5 hours last night, massive improvement on 10 minutes.

Here is what we did:
Fed her and cuddled her
While doing that a hot water bottle heated up the basket so she wasn't getting in cold
Then I put my vest top I had been wearing all day in there and her on top.
She liked it much more. She still didn't sleep through but it's progression!

Argh I'm 25 and would hope to have pinged back a little but no such luck! I also have a fat bum to go with my love handles and wobbly tum! How gorgeous am I?!!

A girl I used to work with went on holiday a few months after the birth...... all her pics were her in a tiny bikini with the most toned stomach I've ever seen......sob!

Please ignore my dirty mirror. 17 days postpartum, I'll be brave. *gulp*

I was wearing my bridget joneses on the day I left hospital- I didn't realise they feel your tummy when they discharge you! You should have seen the mw's face pmsl! I bet they had a laugh at my expense once I'd gone lol! :haha:

My nipples are burning from feeding they are so sore. Do you think I should express for tonight to give them a rest or will it give the baby nipple confusion?

OMG Hann - sushiiiiiii. *drool*

And well done for outsmarting little annabelle to get into the MB!

Eve, Wez, your stomachs are both beautiful. Wez yours is practically flat! And eve give yourself a break lol, you had a mahoooosive bump. I am really laughing at Harry and holly's comments. Nothing like kids to bring things back to reality, lol. I agree with Hann, we'll recover in our own time, best thing now is to enjoy our little babies before they grow up!

Xx

Hi all, up with Ajay. He has been a total pickle for his Dad - he has cried all night. I have just taken over - it doesn't bode well.

Can't seem to post on the oter forum so good luck Fifi, emzee and simmy! Thinking of you all.

AF weight loss my hubbie has hidden te scales!!!! I can get too interested in it so he has said focus on feeling better than look at them. Tummy is going down though but my strechies are still oh so attractive!!!

Hann - we didn't have any problems with Ajay with nipple confusion. He fed from a spoon, cup, bottle and breast since birth and has been fine with all if them. Most MW's told me its a myth but I don't know for sure.

x

Hannah, I pump and nurse. Jonathan does just fine between the two of them. I have trouble because he is a lazy eater. Jealous of the sushi. I hope you get some rest and Miss Annabelle sleeps in her MB.

caz, jonathan isn't a big fan of his daddy, he loves mommy cuddles. Must be the boobs. Nothing seems to be helping my stretch marks. :(

Doodle, I bet you look great.

Thanks for your advice on pumping, about an hour ago she was in total distress and wouldn't latch on. My breasts were so full and I didn't know what to do so I decided to pump them. I pumped both and got 2 fluid ounces from them combined. We bottle fed her it and she didn't need more than half of it. I then took her back to bed and she wanted my breast again. She had a good suck but I now know it's not for the milk it's comfort sucking too. I let her have a suck then tried to put her down and she was crying loads again so now I have her sleeping on me. She has her hand on my breast and every now and then she is sucking (and getting nothing clearly). At least I know that after giving a bottle she will still want me so that's good!
Of course it doesn't help resolve my Moses basket issues though - now I know she is definitely not hungry and she is not dirty she still won't sleep alone.
She just loves being with one of us and cuddled!

cant believe it I wrote a big post and lost it grrrr.

Hann - glad Annabelle is able to take both bottle and breast. I am going to try expressing today.

caz - sorry Ajay has been up all night. Hopefully you will get some rest today.

wez - considering Jonathon and Logan were born on the same day your stomach looks fantastic compared to mine lol.

sb - wow what a flat tummy. Last time mine looked like hat I was in my early 30's.

Eve - your bump is still gorgeous but it will disappear fast.

Loving Harry and Holly's comments re mummy's being fat. Funny Josh said that to me tonnes when I was pregnant but hasn't said it since I had Logan. One thing he was fascinated with though was checking daily to see if my tummy button had gone back in as it popped to an outie just three weeks before Logan was born.

AFM - As I am nearly 43 years old I have to say I was never expecting my tummy to be completely flat after Logan was born - well it hadn't been flat for about 8 years before so it would have been a miracle if it had gone flat without surgical intervention:haha: I'm glad to have lost all my baby weight plus 3lbs as I had been dieting for my wedding before becoming pregnant and would have been upset if I had put on all that I had lost, so that's good but I still want to lose quite a bit. Started my healthy eating again yesterday as for the past two weeks I have been eating a huge amount of biscuits, crsips, chocolate and cake, basically anything that I could grab and that would give me a sugar rush for energy whilst trying to sort Logan. Now feel I am getting a grip on things again so have time to be organised with snacks etc.

Had a bad night with logan last night. Went to bed at 10:30pm as he was sleepy and had fed since 9pm but when we got upstairs he decided he wasn't finsihed feeding and continued til 11:30pm. He then work again at 12:45am and fed til 2:30am. He then woke at 5am but DH heard him before me and kept him occupied until about 5:30 and I have been feeding him since. I thought he had done with his cluster feeding on Thursday/Friday but has been a wee gannet last night. He has just gone over again so gong back to bed in a mo.

Hopefully goIng out today for the day as it looks like a nice day and may take a picnic but see how I am feeling later.

Have a good day ladies and babes.

Curlew - its so interesting about the whole cluster feeding. I had never heard of it before until a couple of weeks ago when you were all talking about it on here.
When Logan does it do you know if he is doing it because he is hungry or wants comfort or both? You see when Annabelle did it last night from about 10.30pm - 2.00am I assumed she was hungry and having a growth spurt but then this morning when I expressed both sides and she couldn't finish it and still wanted to suck it makes me think the cluster is about comfort. It would make sense as I think cluster feeding is mostly a newborn thing up to a month old. I might be wrong though.
I hope you have a nice day and enjoy the weather. We have people visiting us today to meet Annabelle. I have no doubt she will be an angel, its just at night she turns into a little devil - a cute devil though :)

BB - my stitches have started to hurt more now after visits to the toilet. I think that wee is making them burn (heard this could be the case but it hadn;t happened straight away so I had assumed it wouldn't). Going to get a squirty bottle to use for after toilet trips.
The bruising feels like it has gone down a fair bit now though which is good.
Just wish the post partum bleed didn't happen!!

Just been into the living room and Greg is lying on the sofa with the duvet on top of him then with Annabelle on top of his chest. Both fast asleep. I am a very lucky mummy and wife. They look so cute and peaceful!

Hannah the cluster feeding IS about feeding but it's about stimulating your supply they take a lot of wee growth spurts and I think they suck to get your supply reAdy. Oh and pumped amount is not equivalent to boob amount. There are women who can have an oversupply bit can't pump. It can give you an idea of amount but it's not an accurate measurement. Sorry for typo I'm on my phone lol

Nice tummy pictures! I wish I were brave enough to take one...maybe once I'm given the okay to do crunches.

BV I was totally freaked out when I had Saraya and saw the "bump" I still had!! I just hate the sensation of all my organs moving about inside! LOL

I don't care about my big jelly belly to be honest. It was more or less there before I had her anyway! Weight is coming off slowly, just need to start a bit of gentle exercise. Don't worry about the stretchies either. They disappear to almost nothing. Just takes a bit of time, but bio oil helps.

Two lots of good news from Judge Towers. Firstly, although Soph was a total fusspot last night and wouldn't settle from bath time til about 1am, when she finally did go to sleep she went for 5 and a half hours! She fed, was back to sleep in 20 minutes and didn't wake again til 9am. happy day.

Also, she has started smiling! She has been doing a funny lopsided grimace for the last few days when I play with her or sing to her. Yesterday and today we got a proper lopsided smile! Weirdly it doesn't look anything like her windy smile

Hann good luck with the expressing. What pump do you have? My avent one is fecked. The rubber valves don't work. I know this because I took the valves off of my old manual pump and it works fine now! Am kind of wishing i'd got the medela swing now. Although i had to laugh when I was fondling one in Boots yesterday - it is described on the box as "fashionable breast pump" wtf?

DH and Dragon have gone to the PIL's today. Leaving me to loaf around with Sophie. She's laying in my V pillow at the minute, growling crossly for more milk.

Morning everyone,

Hann - glad you got some sleep in the end. You seem to deal with it remarkably well!

Linds - glad Sophie is being well behaved. We had a good night the night before but a terrible night last night, so hopefully tonight will be better!

Hann - Ajay used to suckle at the breast for ages and my supply is huge now although I am now expressing it anyway rather than latching him on.

AFM - although I've had less sleep I do feel better with the feeding now I'm not latching him on. I'm trying to express 4-5 times per day and then feed him that and topped up with forumla if needed. I think that psychologically it's better. We saw the MW yesterday and she was so supportive of what we're doing and very empathetic about the trials of BF'ing that I feel better. But he is still rooting for the breast. Also I think that Neel would rather I was BF'ing as he said that maybe in a few weeks I'll change my mind and put him back onto the breast. Currently I'm thinking no but I need to keep my options open!

No plans today - just a nap I think plus I need to cook a dinner as Neel has cooked the whole time since Ajay was born.
