Beach Bump Graduates!

Aah Maria I hope you're ok, how horrid to have a sickness bug or food poisoning :(

I saw your uppababy vista sale post on facebook and remember how much you love it, but i hear great things about the babyjogger - in fact that's the one I wanted to get the double version of when the baby comes, but unforch the double doesn't fit through our front door! Have still opted for a babyjogger but the tandem one instead. I totally understand your not wanting to let go of your baby - i think i'll feel the same when Sophia gets to naomi's age, as i know i'm not having more children after that! Oh and it's not a pathetic non problem either, i totally get it! Especially in light of your dad's op which must be stressful...

Mel, well done for getting harrison out to softplay, you're really good, i know you must be feeling knackered so it's very honourable that you're still managing these things. I definitely couldn't manage to take Leo on my own to softplay even now at 22 weeks!

Re the sickness, I am not really being sick anymore, but the nausea that I feel is so extreme that it floors me. So today for example i've only managed about 30 mins work because i feel so exhausted and sick. I'm supposed to do 3-5 hours a day and it's really stressing me out that i can't seem to manage that.

Oh and I just spoke to Paul from Turkey and he informs me that he's also away next week from Monday to Friday! It was supposed to be a much shorter trip but someone screwed up organising it and scattered the meetings throughout the week. He is really pissed off about it, and I was so upset when he told me I burst into tears! My parents are so helpful when he's away so I understand it could be worse, I dont know what got into me I'm just feeling really down about him being away yet another week. :(

Maria I hope you are okay, only natural to be worried about your dad, I'd be the same! And I would feel sad about the buggy and N getting older, I am about Annabelle and I know I have another on the way but each baby is so special.

Simmy - so annoying for you both that Paul is away again. Will you go to your parents? Tell work if you are feeling like that, no point suffering in silence and making yourself feel worse :hugs:

Mel - hope you had a better day today.

Just back from hospital - Annabelles ear appointment. Ears are now worse than ever and she's back on 2 months worth of antibiotics, got to go to another hospital in the next couple of months for a hearing test and back to them again in 3 months which will be just when the baby is born, great! Such a pain getting all the appointments sorted and getting to them as they are all at quite far away hospitals (at least 30 minutes drive). Today we had to wait 30 minutes just for them to do her prescription, no child's play area, just a cafe and plenty of places for her to run and escape in. I have discovered I can still run anyway!!
Off to football with her in the morning then driving back to my parents for the weekend afterwards. Gregs got 2 stags this weekend so he's not around.
He was meant to be home tonight for bath time, to cook dinner and to get the luggage out of the loft but has been delayed again. I'm tired and really can't be bothered to do a bath so might just leave it one more day (so 3) and give her a bath at my parents. Sometimes bed time seems such a trial and I only have one for now!!

Don't even talk to me about bedtimes...let alone when I am actually meant to bath myself...lol.

Joshy is poorly now :( temp of 40c. He's been really clingy and has done nothing but cry yest and today, I was getting frustrated he was being a bit naughty because it was every time I picked M up or she cried but obviously the poor mite just feels rough and wants his mummy! He's gone to bed but is still hot and 38c so will be keeping a close eye on him.

Simmy, your nausea sounds tough going. You manage so well even though you might think you don't.

Hann, poor A and her ears, bless her. Hope she's feeling better soon.

Mel, I know what you mean about making the most of the last few weeks. I was determined to with Josh and was chasing him round soft play at 38weeks when I realised I couldn't fit through half the gaps lol. We're still getting out regularly (everyday so far) to any classes that are on for him mainly at our local sure start. M either gets passed around or like today, she stayed asleep in the wrap the whole time. I'm excited its getting so close for you!

Simmy, its actually easier to take H out a lot of the time, he gets frustrated if we are home all day, plus it takes my mind off myself and time goes quicker. Sorry you feel so yuck, i know how awful it is, just remember its all worth it in the end!

Hann, thats such a shame about Annabelles ears, i wonder whats caused it? And such a pain about having to arrange various different appointments. Is her hearing actually affected at all? Hope she enjoys football tomorrow!

Georgie, poor Josh not what you need! Great that you are still getting out and about with him though, i really hope i can do that too, like you say never short of volanteers to hold a newborn! lol. I also cant fit through half the gaps either at soft play lol but i am able to get up and take H on this big slide which he loves, i must look a right sight though going down there at the size i am!

Just ordered H a clock for his jungle themed room and also a stretchy wrap for new baby. this one...

it doesnt look too difficult to get the hang of from the videos, we shall see though!

Mel, I seem to have mastered the Fwcc (forward cross carry) with my stretchy wrap, only took a couple of attempts. Still find i have to stand in front of a mirror but I'm sure it will get even easier. The wrap has definitely been a godsend so far!
I agree with getting out too, makes for a much nicer/quicker day.

The wrap looks good Mel! I can easily do the front cross now - you can always practice with a doll or cuddly toy as I imagine H hasn't got many dollys lol!

Really hope J gets better soon Georgie - you are doing fab!

Just raised a paypal dispute with the place I bought the carrycot from - they don't answer their phone, they aren't answering email, and found a dodgy review saying they are con artists. Great as if I didn't need more to do! Annoyingly thats £104 tied up with a carrycot that I probably won't receive. I'm hoping the will send the refund back to me asap when they see the dispute rather than ignoring it like they appear to have done to my emails.
Never use midland baby store people!!

Oh how annoying about the baby store!! Paypal are on your side so you'll get your money back I think- I should jolly well hope so anyway! Poor Annabelle, does she seem in much pain with her ears? It's tiring having all those hospital appointments too, Naomi has a few for her hypermobility and her eating and it's exhausting- especially if there are no toys in the waiting room- how silly!

That wrap looks lovely Mel! I've only ever used the soft structured carriers but the wraps look so lovely! I'm sure you'll get on fine with it!

:hugs: Simmy. I'm sorry Paul's working longer! :( I think when it's just sprung on you like that it makes it even worse :hugs:

How is J now Georgie? I hope he's better soon! You sound like you're getting on really well!! I stayed on the sofa for a week or 2 when I had Naomi so I think you're doing fab to be going to groups etc still! :D

My pushchair has gone!!!!! It wasn't even on ebay 24hrs and it had 19 watchers, one person came to see it tonight and bought it then and there! I'm amazed as I didn't think I'd get so much for it (lucky really as we all know what ebay fees are like!!- And paypal!) so that softened the blow a bit!
Thank you all for your lovely words about my Dad, I have that horrible feeling in my stomach still but am trying not to think about it- worrying certainly isn't going to help anyone so I'm staying positive :) I spoke to my parents again today and you can hear the stress in their voices so it's extra important I stay upbeat I think :)

Wow your pushchair sold quickly Maria! That's amazing.

Han - oh no you really don't need that hassle with the carrycot. How can people do that?

Simmy - sorry that you're feeling so bad. I can't remember but did you have such bad MS with Leo or is it 100 times worse this time? I honestly feel for you, it sounds awful.

Georgie - blimey it sounds tough having two kiddies!!!!! Hope J gets better soon.

Well had a lovely day with Ajay. Mum popped over for a few hours and we literally did nothing, just played with toys, read lots of books, watching a few episodes of his fave shows and just enjoyed the day together. It was bliss! x

Maria - which soft structured carriers do you have? this is the kind of thing i am looking for this time as i didn't really manage with wraps last time. I would be great to get some recommendations. You're right to try and stay upbeat for your parents, they must be stressed but bless them for not wanting to worry you by the sounds of things. You can always come on here and let us know how you're feeling :hugs:

Hann how annoying re the midland company, thanks for warning us off it. Really hope you get your money back, you should do as paypal are quite good about things like that. And sorry annabelle's ears are worse, poor baby, and so hard to have to go to all these appointments.

Caz - sounds like a lovely day! I was also this sick with Leo but somehow it was easier to manage because I didn't also have Leo to look after. Goodness knows how I managed to work full time the whole way through! I dont know, maybe it's worse this time but is being curbed by the medication.

Georgie, well done for getting out and about so much already, that is seriously impressive! I think i'm gonna struggle with that if i have a c section. However we are keeping Leo in childcare 3 days a week for the first month or so to give me time to recover so hopefully after that i'll manage.

I have a Pognae https://www.pognaeusa.com/ that I bought from Ebay. But good ones to have a look at are Patapum, Manduca, Ergo, Connecta and a lot of people seem to be talking about the Boba 3g (?)- Have a google I think! I just wanted something quick to clip on- plus, Naomi's over 2 stone now and I honestly don't feel her at all on my back and I do the school run with her which is 80 mins walking a day. I love my carrier, it's fab! :D

Sounds like you have had a lovely day Caz! Is Ajay feeling better now?

Wowsers no wonder you keep so fit and slim! Thanks for the advice, will check them out. The pognae looks lovely and exactly the type of thing i'm after. I basically want something as easy to use as the babybjorn but not a crotch dangler. I will probably only use it when the baby's very young - but you never know! xxx

Simmy I'm getting either a manduca or boba 3G. Really good reviews and keep their value for resale.

Off to my parents after foot ball so getting up in a minute to pack. Annabelle woke at 6.30am again for the 3rd day running - too early!

Caz - so glad you had a lovely day yesterday, sounds exactly what you needed x

Lol I don't know about fit and slim :D I love my Pogane, I don't think they're very common over here which was good for me as I wanted something a bit different (and cheaper as I wasn't sure how much I'd use it), but if you're looking for resale value you would be better off with one of the others. There are some fab ones out there though- which can be a pain as it's so hard to choose! :D

Hope Annabelle has a good time at football Hann!

We have got an Ergo which we still use occasionally for H and i love it, thats the reason im getting a wrap to start with as willl also have the Ergo too.

Hann hope you have a lovely weekend at your parents despite Greg being absent, hes a popular man with two stags in one weekend!

Caz, glad you had a lovely day yesterday!

AFM Am off to my friends today, having lunch there before coming home and Alan having a 3 day weekend yay! Its my mums birthday on Sat but we have got them tickets for a london show so wont see them that day, instead they are coming over tomorrow and we are going for a early evening meal, taking H with us so dont know how that will work out and as a person whos quite anal about the bedtime routine im rather anxious although im sure he will be fine.
im also going to make her a birthday cake for tomorrow eek! x

Simmy -- I have an Ergo, which I decided on based on Maisie's size and price at the time (amazing deal, IMO. I could sell it now for probably 25-50% more than I paid for it new!). Very good for toddlers, IMO, but I don't see myself using it much with the new baby. Especially since I don't think I'm going to bother getting the infant insert for it. We'll see.

I wasn't considering one at all, really, but I ended up getting a really good deal on a Beco Butterfly II on the facebook swap that I'm excited about using for the new baby. I understood they weren't great for toddlers but it would work for Maisie right now, just not as comfy for her, so it appears, as the Ergo is because the seat is a bit more narrow. I don't think it will be my go to carrier for comfort for a newborn or small baby (I'm thinking my mei tai will be) but I think it's going to be my very-easy-to-use-with-a-newborn carrier when I'm in a rush. I've not heard of or looked into some of the ones Maria mentioned but I think I would go with a Boba 3G if I limited myself to just one ssc (... :haha:). But like Hann said, they hold their values really well. I see people paying more for them on the swap than I see them selling for new a lot of times!

I freaking love mei tais. :haha: And I recently (like 2 weeks ago) bought an Ellevill Jade size 7 100% cotton wrap from the swap on facebook. I've only tried a couple of preggo-friendly hip carries in it which isn't really the type of carry ideal for a wrap that long. I tried to try (haha) a ruck tied tibetan carry hoping it would be good for the rest of my pregnancy to carry Maisie but she was totally not having any of it. She loves being on my back in the Ergo, though. I need to work on it more, probably sans Maisie a few times. :haha:

I saw you were on babywearing swap Julie - I've bought some wovens off slings and things. I think a Mei tai would be good but no money at the minute, same goes for actually buying the boba!

How's everyone doing?

I'm at my parents, had a nice day yesterday. Unfortunately I was up much of the night with Annabelle in bed with me. Took her to my parents doctor and she has an ear infection still so got more antibiotics, so we now have 2 lots to take - preventative from the hospital and cure from doctors. She's finally asleep now in the cot on her own, hoping she gets a good rest. I just managed 40 minutes asleep too.

Managed to get a refund through paypal for the carrycot (received a very unprofessional and rude email from midland store which proves they aren't genuine). Found exactly what I want in the right colour on ebay, been on for 5 days and no bids, due to run out sun morning. I messaged her and said would she do a buy it now. It's collection only from Northamptonshire which is miles away but from my parents only 1.5 hours (3hpur round trip) so have said I could get it Sunday morning. She asked how much I would pay as she said its new and rrp is £100, I've said £65 because I have to pay for petrol which will be £12-15 and you can buy them (not in red) on amazon for £83 delivered so that matches the amazon price, plus obaby were selling them at £52 although now out of stock. Waiting for her response now. She's not got any bids on it though so would be a gamble for her if she let the offer go, and we could just bid on it and hope to win it at less.

Northampton is where I am Hann so let me know if I can help at all!

The place is burton Latimer by Kettering - you're not near there are you?

Really? That's close! I think we are just going to bite the bullet and drive up there on Sunday morning and get it, at least that way I have it and I can stop worrying about having a carrycot or not. Managed to agree to £65 for collection. Thanks though, really appreciate it x
