Beach Bump Graduates!

Oh caz poor you! I take it you're off work today? How have you been feeling today otherwise? xx

Hann big hugs, all i can suggest is... growth spurt??? What does he do when he wakes up in the night, just cries? I remember Leo regressing like this too, it was so annoying as i'd been really smug about how long he was sleeping for and then he kept waking up after that for months. Sorry, that doesn't really help does it. The daytimes are soooo hard when you've not slept properly. Sometimes i can't even muster up enough energy to smile...

Paul took sophia in the spare room overnight so i managed to get 5 hours unbroken sleep (before Leo woke up) and i feel like a new woman today - imagine, after just 5 hours sleep!! I remember the days when i (thought i) was tired and i wouldn't feel better until i'd slept for 11 hours. LOL. I'd be positively buzzing on 11 hours now, imagine how lucid my brain would be!

On another note Leo's nursery got broken into last night - they have totally messed up the place. How awful is that, to break into a nursery?! Paul went to drop him this morning and the police were there and were checking it all out. how scary.

That's made me laugh Simmy because you are so right - even a year ago I would feel tired on 5 hours sleep, now 5 hours is like a luxury. Really also bugs me when family (mainly my mum or mil) go on about how tired they are when they get full nights sleeps and don't work or do anything in the day. I always think that if they are going to moan at least do it to the person that isn't up all night!
I'd love 5 hours tonight, really hope he's not following in Leo's footsteps and its just a growth spurt!

How are you feeling today Caz? Hope better!

I have my class of British military fitness tonight, not sure if I said about it but I did my freebie on Tuesday and it was good - an hour long in the park and you run approx 5km and do a load of circuits and strength stuff too. Apparently you burn around 600-700 calories an hour and use all muscle groups. I'm doing it with a new friend here so it's quite nice as we can motivate each other. Plus I get some time out of the house, although not relaxing lol!
Would have been great to have had a sleep over lunch but my little Henry is wide awake so no napping for me!

hi all sorry ive been a bit awol, things have been manic.

Hann so sorry you are struggling with sleep issues, its just crap isnt it and makes everything so much harder. Sorry to here Annabelle is being demanding too, H is like that sometimes too, asking to play etc, makes me want to scream sometimes. Can Greg deal with Annabelle at night so you can concentrate on Henry? maybe that might enable you to get a bit more rest?
And well done on the fitness, bet its tough, but good fun, I would like to sign up for something like that but cant because of Alans shifts, so i have to rely on self motivation, which isnt always easy!

Caz, so sorry you are struggling, has Neel been supportive? Are you moving back home this week, maybe that will help.

Simmy, We took it in turns to sleep with Lucas in the spare room at first and it really worked for us, if at least one of you gets some sleep then its not so bad. I recomend you try and do it regularly. Hope Sophia is recovering now, cant imagine what you have been though. How awful re the nursery too? What type of person does that? !

SB, Love the pics, so exciting you are halfway now! Its flown by hasnt it! Hope you are feeling well and getting some rest!

AFM, Well Harrison had a lovely birthday, it was a relaxed day with friends and little ones and they all had a great time. Hes been spoilt and still not opened all his presesnts lol.
Its put me out a bit this week as it was on a monday! Tues he had last swimming of the term, next week we are going to take both boys swimming, will be Lucas's first time so thats exciting. Yesterday, one of my friends and goddaughters came for lunch and brough H more presents and today i had a new friend over for lunch with her little girl which was really nice, hope to see her again very soon.
Not a lot else to report, went for a run last night, 5k so happy with that. On saturday im doing an indian head massage course so looking forward to that and a bit of time out, things been manic lately with kiddie things!

Sorry been MIA again!

Both my have and are being whiny bums all week, loosing the will to live here too!

Have read and caught up, hope everyone is ok and not too sleep deprived! We have got into some awful sleep habits here i will confess!

Oh, dating sucks! Lol!

Will come back later if they calm down! Xxxx

Georgie - are you doing Internet dating? Tell all when you can!

Mel - so glad H had a lovely birthday. We restricted Annabelles present opening too but she's opened them all now.
You would love the British military fitness classes, such a shame about Alan's shift work. Last night they killed us, we had to do a run then warm up, then a 3km run, then a circuit focusing on abs, then a short run, then a circuit focusing on bums and legs, then a 2.5km run, then a circuit focusing on arms (basically loads of different types of press ups!) then a short run, then a circuit focusing on bums and legs, then a short run and a warm down. It was full on! It's really good fun though! Not aching as much as I thought I would today but think I will be tomorrow when I go again (8am class!!)

Sleep is still not great, Greg and I are taking it in turns to get up with Annabelle despite that I was up twice with Henry for feeds although I suspect that he doesn't need the first feed and its bad habit as he doesn't take much, and I was up three times with Annabelle - as was Greg. So annoying that she's up so much! I know she'll eventually sort herself out but it's mega frustrating until she does! I think I'm going to get a gro clock to see if that helps.

Caz/Simmy/Maria - how are you both?

SB - can't believe you are half way through your pregnancy! That's flown by! What are you naming him?

Hann, I am struggling to understand HOW you're managing these fitness classes when you're sooo exhausted and sleep-deprived, seriously you are super woman!!

Georgie I feel like we're slipping into bad sleeping habits too... It's so easy to not give a crap when you have two! Yes I'm also interested to hear more about the dating, let us know when u have a moment!

Caz how are you feeling today? Hope better?

Mel, glad Harrison had a lovely birthday - the cake looked awesome!

Well it's Leo's birthday tomorrow, we've got Paul's parents and his brother's family coming to stay tomorrow and we've invited the NCT crowd over for a little BBQ - we wanted to keep it small and simple this year. But the weather is looking awful for tomorrow - heavy rain all day - typical isn't it, there's a massive heat wave and the one day we plan a BBQ it all goes downhill :(

I would have said the same as you last week Simmy but its weird because although its an effort to go, after I've been I feel more mentally energised although my body is aching and tired. I think if I was able to sleep I would sleep really well!

I think you'll be fine tomorrow, its going to be hot at least and it won't rain all day, just a short burst at some point! I hope he has a lovely day!

Just watching Annabelle eat cous cous - my bowl and hers (obviously in case mine is nicer!) and getting most of it on the floor, lovely! And I just hoovered - got to love kids!

Hey all

Georgie, i want more detail about dating than that! do tell lol!

Hann, the military fitness sounds great fun, yes its a shame about Alans shifts, however ive got this lovely idea in my head that when both children are at school im going to join a posh gym/spa and spent loads of time there lol. We shall see! And your right, Exercise does wake you up, even when you are knackered.

Simmy, Im sure it will be just a shower tomorrow and Leo will have a fantastic birthday bless him. Sounds like you have a lovely day planned.

AFM, I forgot to say the other day that H put green toilet duck all over the carpet(i still cant get it out) and today its toothpaste! urrghh! The terrible twos have definatly hit! He was awake at 530 this morning too, hes napping now hopefully a long one! Other than that hes pretty good really, he talks in 3-4 word sentances now and you can easily hold a conversation with him. Alan on lates now till tues so i took advantage this morning, got out for a run and popped up to tesco to pic up some pics. Having a cuppa with a friend later.
Lucas is all good too, what a chilled out little man he is, its pretty amazing really.
Lost another couple of pounds during weigh in today, that takes my total to nearly 28 pounds, im pretty chuffed with that so far, just over halfway now!!

It's funny you said that about H putting words together because Annabelle speaks sentences now too 'mummy do it' 'put Henry down' 'daddy's gone to work' are here favourites lol but she's also learnt the words to 'round and round the garden' and can do the whole thing, and 'rockaby baby' and I often catch her singing them to herself! She loves doing round and round the garden to Henry and tickling him rather aggressively!

Oh and I have been asking her to use the potty for her no.2s when she says she needs one and now she's done it 5 days in a row in the potty and everything seems to be better in that area! Unfortunately she has no interesting in weeing in it so we are a long way off full potty training but the fact that we've hopefully sorted that other issue is just amazing!

Great progress Han with annabelle's potty - that's great! I feel so sorry for you with the lack of sleep - glad Greg is helping though. I wonder why A gets up so much? It might be bare able if it was just Henry getting up?

Simmy five hours sleep yay! Bless Paul for helping - is Sophia totally better now? I really hope so.

Mel your exercising ad weight loss is amazing! I don't know how you find the time!

Georgie can't wait to hear your dating stories!

SB - hope you're sleeping well before those sleepless nights start again!

How are you Maria?

Still feeling low here - I won't bore you with it but struggling still :( I'm reading just trying not to post misery comments all the time! x

Hi Caz, well everyone else too.

I am one of the original beach bumps & have always kept up to date with how everyone's getting on, but have found it a bit difficult to chat :dohh:I just wanted to let you know you are not alone Caz, I too had PND & am still struggling I really feel like I will never be me again. I hope this is of some comfort to you :hugs:

Karen x

Karen I remember you - how wonderful to hear from you. Ad thank you for your lovely words - it's a horrible place to be isn't it but I am so touched by you posting. Please stay in touch? x

Karen I remember you from before, I'm glad that you still check in and I'm sorry to hear about the pnd but so nice of you to post for Caz. I can't begin to imagine what you have both been through and still are. I personally get really hard days now and feel so fed up and snap at Annabelle then feel terrible about it, and I know that this is nothing compared to what you experience but I can say that in those moments it gives me a small insight and my heart goes out to you because I feel so desperate and so sad, frustrated, annoyed etc that I can't cope for that short time. It's such a hard thing to be a mum and juggle everything that it comes with, for most of us not just the mum part but the house wife part plus us trying to salvage a tiny piece of ourselves back.
I know certainly when it comes to you,Caz, that you are one strong lady and you are a brilliant mummy! I think you have unfortunately got some domineering inlaws who mean well but can cause no end of grief and self doubt but you should be so proud of how far you have come and of what a wonderful little boy Ajay is - the majority is down to you! We all hear how much you do for him and how you shoulder a vast proportion of the parenting so be proud of yourself, I know I think you are fab!
Karen - I'm sure it's the same for you too!

Ah Han you're going to make me cry! You're so sweet. I woke this morning and saw your message and its definitely made me feel more positive and ready to start a new day. Thank you :)

How did Henry and annabelle sleep last night? x

It's all true Caz, I hope this weekend treats you better and that Neel is looking after you!

Horrendous night, Annabelle up around 15-20 times although Greg did 80% of it. Henry was up twice again but his is moving in the right direction. Been to fitness class, feel awake but tired too lol, glad I went though!

SB - can't believe you are half way through your pregnancy! That's flown by! What are you naming him?

Yes, hasn't it? I can't believe how fast this time around is going! It's a little scary! I feel so unprepared still and it feels like December will be here in a blink of an eye!

We're finally using the name we had picked out for three pregnancies. We're going with a junior, so he'll be William Lee and we're calling him Will (so now we'll have a Will and a Kate! :haha: ). Since my husband is naming him, I already have our next boy's name picked out! :haha: (Okay, I have our girl name for next time already picked too! )

Welcome back, Karen!!

Oh what other names do you have? Just being nosey?! Love the name William!

Our set boy name for the next one (yes, I like to be prepared really, really early! haha) is a combination of my two favorite names - Vincent Atticus. I've loved both for a good 15 years now, and I'm dying to use them! I tried to work it for this baby, but DH is really set on William. Since I named Katie and had full power over the girl name this time, I had to let him have his say on one of our kids! lol

Our girl name is most likely going to be Charlotte Ariel, unless we have another winter baby. Then I might go with Cecelia Snow again (that's what we were going to use this time if it was a girl, and call her Cece). My husband keeps asking me what my obsession is with C/K names, but it's an unconscious theme - they're just my favorite! Luckily he likes them too!

SB you are SO super organised with your baby names!

Hope the kiddies sleep better tonight Han. Have you taken the side of annabelle's cot - is that what's different for her?

Off to bed now - had a good day which was nice x

Lovely names SB! I like Ariel as she's my favourite disney girlie character!

We got some sleep last night!! Annabelle woke up once and so did Henry! I still feel exhausted of course but its progress and I hope it continues that way!
