Beach Bump Graduates!

Han only just was your post poor annabelle and poor you! Is it worth asking the health visitors why an maybe they can advise? x

Han they say at this age they can start to become afraid, eg of the dark or of being alone. Wonder if its that. I really sympathise though, sounds horrible for all of you, and such bad timing especially now Henry is sleeping better.

Simmy funny you should say that, we have just had the worst night ever with H completely out the blue. He was screaming and constantly getting out of bed for 3 hours from the time he went to bed and kept saying he wanted me or alan to lay down with him. He then got up again at 430am when alan left for work and i ended up getting in bed with him to keep the peace. Bad move i know but was desperate. He has beem up since 615 and we are like zombies today. I hope this isnt the start of something x x

It's just horrendous at the moment, its been almost 3 months now but worse in the past 4 weeks since holiday. She is napping for 50 mins then screaming. Yesterday I slept in with her after the initial nap wake up and she went down again but then woke up screaming even though I was in the bed with her. So many conflicting ideas out there of what it is. I now have a little light so it's not dark on case that's the issue, I read it can be sleep inertia where your mind and body aren't in sync so your body wakes up but your mind doesn't and its scary apparently very common, but it could also be a developmental leap as we are talking a lot about potty training. Apparently when that happens some children wake up at night when they wee and if distressing them. She's not actually using a potty to wee though but we talk about it all the time. I really am at a loss and its just awful! Oh and he ry is waking once a night again, but I can cope with that I guess!

Bless you Han that's so awful for you all - and poor annabelle it must be horrible for her :(

Lovely day here - off work, saw some friends and had a gorgeous day with Ajay. Also saw a new counsellor today (through our support programme at work) and she was great so that was good - feels like a step forward x

Morning all, how is everyone doing?
Hann how have the past few nights been?

We're having a busy weekend, went out for dinner with NCT friends last night, today we have a BBQ (although weather is looking naff!) and tomorrow we have my Uni friend coming to visit. Looking forward to it!

Sophia has started to go slightly longer stretches during the night too. She can go up to 6 hours now, which usually only means one wake up between 12am-6am, so feeling a little more human. Although its not guaranteed every night! Got her weighed last week and she's shot up to 12lbs, gone from 55th to 85th percentile. I took her to get weighed as I was concerned she was drinking too much milk, she just always seemed so hungry. HV confirmed that she IS drinking too much, so we're now trying to space her feeds out, giving her infacol before feeds and a dummy to suck straight after, and trying to fill the gap with water in between feeds. And she's now down from 8 bottles a day to 6!

Hi girls,

Simmy so glad Sophia is sleeping for longer - that must be great.

Busy day here - had the NCT gang over so we made a big roast and played in the garden. It was lovely but exhausting!

Tomorrow were out for a friends 40th which is wierd as I'm only 31 but they are a little over. Should be nice though x

Hey guys, sorry Ive been MIA just been so busy!

Hann, Hows Annabelles sleep going? Harrison is sleeping now, but on the floor lol, we have had to put a stair gate on his room door too. Hes still wanting me to lay on the floor with him at the mo and makes a fuss for a bit when I leave him but it doesnt last long

Simmy, wow 8 bottles a day! lol that sounds a lot! Ha ha what a little guzzler Sophia is bless her. Lucas is on 4 bottles a day and we have just started introducing baby rice, fruit and porridge, hes loving it and cant seem to get enough, I think we have another who likes his food lol!

Caz, Sounds like a lovely weekend! Saw a lovely pic of you and Ajay on fb! Hes such a handsome little chap!

AFM, So im busy at the moment, during the day with the children obviously but my evenings have been spent creating my website etc for my new business. Although Im not starting my Sports massage till next month im now qualified in Swedish and Indian head, so gonna run with those to start with and see how we go, ive got all my equipment pretty much sorted and all the legalities (am gonna be moblie) so wont be long till I start advertising. Im excited but scared too!
Had a lovely weekend, Alan been on lates but I spent the afternoon with friends yesterday at an adventure park and today at my parents. Seeing friends over next couple of days too x

Hey all, sorry for the silence. Had a rough old time of it! Annabelle is still waking at night but down to 1-3 times which is a massive improvement. I worked out shes waking when she wee's and if we change her nappy as soon as she wakes she goes back to sleep for a long time, if we don't change her nappy she continues to cry every 20 minutes. Guessing its all the potty training stuff. Anyway we are now having 3 days in knickers at home to try to get her fully onto the potty as shes halfway there and I think the halfway situation can't be good.
Henry is sick with a cold so not a happy boy and I think I'm getting it too. I also woke up not being able to move my neck and shoulder so not sure I'll be doing my class tonight which is annoying.

Went to Bristol yesterday to see my friuend and her baby, was so nice to see her but had an awful journey home. Traffic was bad so sat nav took me a weird 'town' route home and Henry (starting to get sick) cried like I've never heard him cry before cried for an hour of the journey and I was on my own and no where to stop so I just had to leave him, and then I got done by a speed camera. All in all it was extremely distressing and I was close to throwing up when I got home. Really horrible!

Mel - your business sounds great - let us know what your website is when its done! I'd love an indian head massage!

Simmy - 8 bottles does sound a lot but having said that Henry probably feeds 8 times a day sometimes though I have no clue how much he's actually taking!

Present ideas for christmas? Mel - i know you have the railway, think I'll have to save that idea for Henry. Would love ideas though as need to budget and spread the cost out

Caz - due to the fact that I can't move my neck and the horror of yesterdays car ride I think I'll postpone our meet up - can do next weds morning though if thats any good?

Hi!

Mel how exciting about your business! I saw your FB page earlier, have you got many booked in yet? Indian head massage is so lovely, I bet you'll be really busy once you're doing sports too- both were very popular when I was working.

Hann that sounds painful, I hope your neck is better soon.
Annabelle sounds like she's doing well with the potty! I'm stumped with ideas for Christmas too, it's really hard to know what to get. I quite like Mel's idea of a train table. Naomi really likes trains at the moment, although I don't know if we've enough space for a table, I may look at getting a small train set.
I hope Henry is better soon.

Wow Simmy, it sounds like Sophia's doing well! I saw your pic on FB, she's so adorable! All the beach bump babies are!

Caz that sounds like a nice weekend, I hope you had fun at your friend's 40th.

The summer holidays are hectic as always! Holly is away with her grandparents until this evening and Naomi is napping so I'm trying to catch up!
My stomach, after 2 years of being fine is really bad again. It's been going on for a month now so I went to my doctor and she found a letter from my consultant with some recommendations (I saw him when pregnant with Naomi last time so couldn't take anything) so I'm trying out some new medications, hopefully they work!

Hi girls,

Mel saw your fb website too - wish I was closer I'd pay for a massage every day!!!! I don't know where you find the time.....!

Simmy - I agree with Maria Sophia is such a cutie!

Han - you poor thing :( car journies with crying kids is horrible :( don't worry about tomorrow - you're welcome anytime as is anyone :)

Maria - I hope your tummy is ok. Poor you x

So lovely night last night - a NCT friends 40th and we went to an awesome restaurant and ate and drank very well. Hangover today but i got my new company car so that's exciting (although cars mean nothing to me really) and have tomorrow off so excited x

I think I finalized the Christmas gifts for Katie and Will now, as I'm going to start buying through next month. Here's our list, Katie is obsessed with Leapfrog's Violet, reading, Mickey and Princesses, and Will's theme is Mickey Mouse. I'm just going to add a few others as I come across things:
Christmas Lists

That's a good list SB! How exciting! I can't wait for Christmas!

Glad the birthday party went well Caz. Exciting about your new car!

Wow amazing list SB!!!!! I've not quite got there yet although I'm starting to note things down so that we are prepared.

Having a relaxing day - went to the park this am and then tonight I have another counselling appointment which was useful last week so I'm hoping it will be today too. x

Han - how are you feeling? x

Day one of potty training........ One wee in the potty and four accidents - not too bad!!!! It's tough though especially for someone like me who gets all anxious. Ajay just gone to bed so having a glass of wine. Plan is to stay home this weekend and then he is at mil on Tuesday and with me on Wednesday x

I want to start potty training again, and Katie does too. She did SO well before I stopped her when I got so sick at the beginning of pregnancy. Now I'm just so tired and we just got a new carpet in the room we're in most of the day, so of course I'm reluctant to start up again. But i know it's only going to get harder once the baby is here, and two in diapers is going to hurt.

I think we're a bit early SB.... I thought it was 2.5 but Neel got it in his head that he wanted to do it now so we started to try! x

Yep, 2.5 is the usual starting time. My problem is, that's exactly when my baby will be born! I don't plan on doing anything for three months after that either, because that's how long it takes for my broken tailbone to heal. So she'll be well on her way to three by that point, so since she shows signs of being ready and willing and disliking her diaper, I figure getting her used to it now would probably be better. I just have to get up some more energy to do it! lol

Hi All,

Sorry i've been so quiet - had a bit of a nightmare week. Wednesday morning I noticed Leo was looking a bit yellow, didn't think anything of it. Then Paul said he looked yellow and he seemed to get more and more yellow. I called the GP and they said to take him straight to hospital. So back to A&E we went... Poor thing had loads of tests and absolutely hated it. They said his blood count was very low - his haemoglobin had fallen to 5.7 which is really worrying, and they said they'd admit us overnight and he'd have to have a blood transfusion.

Anyway so they did another test that evening and his HB count hadn't fallen again so they decided against the transfusion. They said his liver was fine (which is normally the culprit if you turn yellow). So they did more tests but they now suspect he has a condition called G6PD, which is an enzyme deficiency which causes your body to react badly to broad beans!! So random! We are still waiting for tests to confirm this but that looks the likely reason, as he ate a whole load of broad beans on sunday. This condition also means he will react badly to certain drugs, but as long as he avoids the specific list, he will be fine, there are no other implications. So we were discharged the next morning, and have to have some follow up blood tests next week. Leo is still quite weak and has to build up his strength again (loss of iron can knock you for six). And he's still a bit yellow - but he's getting better and better each day.

I can't believe what a nightmare six weeks we've had. We've had two hospital stays and been to A&E four times!! I really hope this is the end of it.
