Beach Bump Graduates!

So glad things are good with Leo simmy! And I love my boba 3G too so I think you made a good choice!

Caz - glad you had a great night out, despie the hangover ;-)
How's potty training?

SB - I had said to annabelle for months about me having a baby, on the day I had him my parents told her we were going to get the baby. She was out when we got home so when she came in we introduced her to him, let her give him strokes, cuddles and kisses, and bought her a present from him. She was a bit nervous at first and when he cried it upset her a bit. We did see regression in the firm of sleep - she would wake at night and want cuddles from us which we gave. When he was asleep which was a lot of the time we would fuss over her and give her lots of attention and cuddles. However she loves him, she wakes up in the morning and wants to see him. It's really cute how much she loves him.

Afm - proud mummy day, annabelle woke up this morning and said she wanted to use the potty and has used it all day, only one accident! This is a massive leap from when I tried it a few weeks ago and she was very unsure and over 3 days she only managed 2 wees in the potty. Now she gets it! Think she'll be potty trained very soon if she wakes up still wanting to do it!
Oh and nursery is rapidly getting trickier. She now knows I'm leaving her and gets upset. 4th time tomorrow and I suspect it will be bad again. Hate seeing her so sad!!

Well done annabelle :) she is so grown up! Ajay knows we are leaving him too Han and it is sad but after literally one minute he is fine again. He got worse about a month ago but as they have cameras I can see him and he recovers in seconds!

Neel and I went for it and we have booked two nights in Iceland in a fortnights time. Am excited to have a couples weekend but quite scared also as I'm dreading leaving Ajay .....

Those with babies since their toddlers - can you explain how it was for the toddler to bring a baby home? I'm just curious as to what to expect from Katie at this age. How long did your toddler regress? Did they get possessive of mommy? How did they react to a baby suddenly being there every day? How long did it take for them to adjust?

SB, Leo reacted really well to having the new baby here. We had really made a big deal of it beforehand - we kept telling him the baby in mummy's tummy was going to come and live at Leo's house. We also read him lots of books about new babies. When baby arrived he was really loving and always wants to cuddle her - he still does this. He hasn't really displayed any jealousy at all which is amazing. The only small jealous thing was when he saw us giving the baby a bath, as it is his bath and he got possessive over it. But he's got used to that now. I think now, after a couple of months, he probably can't remember the baby NOT being there. Now, when the baby cries, he says "Mummy, baby want milk" or "Mummy, baby need cuddles" - it's so sweet!

Caz - so exciting about your holiday, you should def make the most of it although i know you will miss ajay. I have always wanted to go to iceland!!

Hann, well done annabelle for using the potty, what a clever girl. How did the nursery drop off go today? Hopefully you'll find once she makes friends it will be easier - Leo complains about going sometimes but he's always excited to play with Cameron, his best buddy.

Not much going on here - Leo's at nursery today so i'm trying to chill out and get some jobs done at home, i feel really tired and just feel like a day at home with lots of sophia cuddles!

Ah your day seems lovely Simmy lots of cuddles with Sophia!

Holiday is lovely - having a very relaxing time but I had to do some work over the last few days. But last night I asked Neel to hide my blackberry as it was stressing me so much. X

Hi Ladies,

Hope all is well, sorry Ive been rubbish on here lately!

Simmy glad Leo is better, what a scary time for you!

Caz. have a lovely weekend away!

SB, We were really lucky, Harrison was brilliant when Lucas came home and pretty much has been ever since.

Hann, yay for the potty training! Clever Annabelle, Sad about pre school though, hope things improve.

AFM All ok but hectic, we are going to Scotland for a week tomorrow along with my parents, we are driving so been busy packing and stuff. Pre school going well, Harrison is loving it so far. Lucas is doing great, hes 17lb15 now and on two meals a day plus 4 bottles, hes such a piggie, but still a dream, sleeping 12 hours etc. I fear a major regression soon lol.
No job yet but Im keeping at it, Ive applied for quite a few but they are all really slow getting back and Im so impatient. I start College in 2 weeks time too, Im so excited for that!

Thanks, girls! I'm just not sure how Katie is going to take it. Right now she's excited, but of course she doesn't really get it. She's at that odd stage right now, where she's old enough to remember when baby wasn't here and she got all the attention and mommy was all hers, but she's too young to really understand what's going on and why everything is happening. I'm hoping it'll be a pretty smooth transition, but I'll understand if it's harder on her. Luckily she's becoming more and more a daddy's girl, so that may help when mommy is busy with baby and nursing a different baby while daddy gives all his attention to her.

Hann, that's great that Annabelle is clicking with the potty! I'm hoping to start Katie soon (I actually planned to do it this weekend, but then I got sick.) Just can't decide how to do it - I'd love to train her right on the big potty, but that's upstairs and me being so big and pregnant just cringes at the idea. The small potty would be easier, but then I have to train her twice and it feels like my morning sickness is coming back, so cleaning after each potty won't be fun either! (And will need a hike up the stairs anyway!)

Interesting to read about introducing #2... I guess all you can do is to try to give as much attention to #1 as possible! I like the idea of bringing thd older sibling a present from the baby. Good idea!

Hann, congrats on the potty training! We tried to train Jill back in June and she grasped the concept very quickly - if we put her on, she would go immediately if she had to. It wasn't a question of muscle control... But rather lack of interest. She just didn't care to tell us if she had to pee. After 3 weeks she would still per in her pants if we didn't ask her every 15 minutes, so we quit. Now we are debating when to try again as we want to have her trained before the baby comes, but we will also need to move her from the crib to the toddler bed and we don't want to do both at the same time. Which to tackle first...?

Mel, have fun in Scotland!

Caz - wow, Iceland! Have heard it is amazing!

Well annabelle is officially dry! We went to Kent today and she didn't wee in the car, she waited until we got home and did a big one then. I really thought I would find her soaking wet but no! She asks to go on it and she goes on when I say to, which is every hour or so. Really pleased we waited for her to ask to do it as its all been her idea and doesn't feel like 'training' even. I'm astounded by how well she's done!

Mel - hope you have fun in Scotland.

Caz - your trip away sounds great! Are you ttc soon?

My sister has just agreed to buy a house 10 mins away from me which I'm so happy about, and my parents have now said that they want to move here too at the end of next year! I'm really shocked because they have such a big social life where they live so never thought they would want to give that up but they really want to be near us! I'm really excited by it all though!

Hope everyone else is doing well - sorry for the very one sided post

Well done annabelle :) she is so grown up!

And amazing news Han about your sister and parents - you have done so well with them sofas away it will be wonderful to have them on hand for support x

All ok here - holiday ends Tuesday and we are just snuggling up on the sofa watching fireman Sam as we got caught in an almighty downpour on the way home. Ajay is throroughly annoyed with us and is sulking on the sofa!

Lol poor ajay! Sounds like you are having some lovely family time.

I'm having a horrific time with Henry, he's normally so laid back and easy but in the past 5 days he's resisting napping (20 mins max) and not sleeping well at night. Tonight we've hit an all time low, he's been up 30 mins and has fallen asleep on me but if I move and put him in his cot he screams hysterically. Just resorted to calpol. He's 17 weeks though which is the peak if a wonder week so perhaps just that. Really hoping it doesn't last long. This is not fun!

Hann sorry you're having a hard time with Henry - must be the developmental leap! We had the most horrific night with Sophia last night, she was literally screaming the entire night. Paul had her til 5am and I took over from there. She would fall asleep from crying every so often but did not sleep for more than 30 mins at a time the entire night!!
I'm so glad you mentioned wonder weeks as Sophia is about to enter week 12... That could be it. Although she's also done 3 massive poos today so maybe it was tummy ache. Who knows??!

That's great news about annabelle's potty training, well done! And fabulous about your parents and sister moving nearer you. Imagine how amazing that will be, you will have so much help!

Caz glad you're having a fun holiday. Weather sounds like here - it's been horrendous today! Lol funny Ajay. I have been trying to get Leo into fireman sam. His fave at the moment is postman pat, he's obsessed with it.

Mel - have a lovely time in Scotland!

SB - sounds like you need to leave potty training til you are feeling a bit better!

Squeaker - we haven't potty trained Leo yet but putting him from cot to bed was a doddle - maybe try that first as its not such a big deal?

Well Paul headed off to South Africa today so I'm at my parents for a whole week. We had a bday party today for one of Leo's friends which was fun. Leo has also started swimming lessons on Saturdays. He absolutely loves them and loves the water. The only problem is I can't go and watch as if I am there, he really plays up! Lol so annoying.

Hann how is Henry now?

Simmy your situation with Sophia does sound very wonder week too. Jut awful isn't it? Henry's had stomach issues too so not sure if that's also been a factor. The wonder week for the one we are now in strata around week 14.5 and stays till around week 19 but peaks at week 17. Funnily enough Henry was sleeping all night until week 14, since then he's woken 2-5 times a night, and bang in 17 weeks he stopped napping and became fussy. Really hope its eases off a bit by tues (week 18) and that he mighy start sleeping again by 19. Wishful thinking perhaps though.
Up again now, exhausted :-(

How did the rest of the night go? Ours was much better, she did 9.30-11.30pm, dream feed, 12-6am. So overall not too bad! Still feel knackered though - usually Paul does the dream feed and I go to bed early but obvs he's not here :(

Off to see my NCT friend's new baby this morning, yay. Another NCT friend is due in 5 weeks. And yesterday both another NCT friend AND my best friend announced they were preg - baby fever or what!!

Katie is now in her big girl bed! So pleased with her, she fell asleep in it last night and stayed there all night and most of the morning (she slept later than normal!) She loves her bed, it's a little fairytale cottage bed that matches her giant dollhouse - and it even has a little doll version bed to go next to it.

I love how her bedding and Will's bedding coordinates! Katie picked out both of them.

That's so cute SB

How's everyone doing?
Happy anniversary Mel and happy 6 months to Lucas!

I am still in Henry wake up hell. It got really bad at one point where he was waking 6 times a night, it dropped back to 2 and then last night was 3 again. He's being so grumbly in the day too, won't nap for longer than 40 mins. Apparently around 19 weeks it should get easier. I am hanging on in hope of that happening! I will be so gutted if it doesn't get better next week! I'm exhausted.
Got my parents coming today because we are out tonight and sat night. Tonight was meant to be a night out with my sister and brother and other halves and should have been a big boozy night but my sister has now decided she wants to move stuff out of her flat tomorrow at 8am so none of them will be drinking much as my brothers helping. I'm a tad annoyed as she could have done it on the Sunday or next weekend but instead its impacting tonight. Can't do anything about it though!
Off to see an osteopath this morning for my neck which is still bad, then have the joys or a smear later and also Henry's jabs. Fun!
Had to go to the dr yesterday to get the health insurance referral and not only was Henry screaming but annabelle had her first proper accident since she was dry over a week ago - she did a huge wee all over the waiting room floor and of course as she's had no accidents I had no clothes with me and she had to stand there in sodden clothes and they were running 30 mins late! Lol you couldn't make it up!
On the upside she's doing amazingly at nursery and loves it! She still has a cry when I leave but she's getting on so well.
Right better get on! Hope you all have a good day

Oh crikey hann what a day for you!! Aww bless annabelle she's done really well not to have any accidents up til then. Hope the day of appointments goes well today - Dont forget a change of clothes! :)

Really hope Henry settles soon. What happens when he wakes up, is he just screaming? And feeding him doesn't help?

Had a terrible night with Sophia last night too. We seem to have two good nights and then one bad. I think the problem yesterday was that she slept too much during the day - about 4-5 hours in total so of course she wasn't tired enough at night. I tried dropping the dream feed for two nights, and the first night she slept 9pm-7am (an absolute first!!) but then last night she did 9pm-3pm and then was awake until 6am. I just don't get it! Oh and then Leo was awake at 5am! Just as well I'm still at my parents' as they dealt with Leo in the morning...

So Paul arrived home from South Africa this morning - he just called me and the cleaner somehow left the gas hob on when she was there on Wednesday - the whole house stank of gas!! And obviously we haven't been there... I shudder to think what could have happened... Luckily the central heating was off - if that had ignited the house could have blown up! So worrying and thankful at the same time.

Oh quick question for hann and mel - how do you do bath time with two? Do you bath them both together yet, and if not, who do you do first? Ours is a bit hit and miss and I'm sure we're not doing it in the most efficient way!

Hey ladies how are you all doing? Quiet night in here, DH out for first time in absolutely ages. Both LOs were asleep by 830pm so sitting chilling with an amaretto (had forgotten I had a bottle in the cupboard). Have had 3 awful nights from Cassie, fingers crossed for better night tonight.

Hi girls,

Not been on for a few days - not feeling great so reading along.

Simmy how scary about the gas being left on - that's so frightening.

Han - poor you with everything going on. How's your weekend been?

Fi - how lovely having a little drink in the evening! x
